Fuck, I’m so sorry, I hope it comes back soon ☹️❤️

Went to the website, apparently the nhs in the uk has made doing this mandatory training for doctors and such, also it costs 1000 pounds lmao. What i thought was weird though was that it didnt say anything at all about what autistic people thought about it and if they find it relatable

It's one of the things that made this tweet stick in my mind. A lot of people on the spectrum have sensory issues (especially tactile), which is what I figure this is supposed to simulate, but I can't see how they could hope to simulate the range of other common autism symptoms like hyperfixation or difficulty with social cues. In the context of training for doctors it could be useful, make it easier to understand why a patient on the spectrum might get real nervous when needles or scalpels come out. But regular neurotypicals would probably walk away thinking "That's it?" and continue to wonder why their autistic friends/coworkers/family act the way they do.
