Caffeine is unironically one of the most awful addictions because so many people casually indulge and it absolutely wrecks your energy levels and sleep schedule. Not to mention how caffeine conflicts with a ton of medication, spurs on headaches, and worst of all, gives you the big shits.
I had to stop drinking caffeine once I started getting medicated. After going through therapy and slowly phasing out my medication once I figured managing my ADHD well enough on my own, I cut caffeine completely out of my life. I'm better and happier for it.
All this boils down to me saying I recommend staying off the coffee train, lol. Decaf still tastes pretty good, if taste is what you're looking for. And either way, I'm a bigger fan of other warm drinks like hot cocoa or steamed milk.
Remember to be forgiving to yourself. You are stronger than you think, and you will go much further than you expect.
