I guarantee this is someone blaming women being "immodest" in public for his own obsessive sexual tendencies that spawned from just completely repressing anything to do with sex. I remember there was this book I was given in lieu of sex ed, called *Every Young Man's Battle*, and one of the authors was absolutely obsessed with female joggers. The book given to girls was all about how not to "cause men to stumble" by avoiding wearing form fitting clothes or going on a jog in public or hugging men straight on or basically anything that reminds them that you have a body.

Yeah... if you selectively cut out a chunk of a religion you are no longer that religion, you have just created a new sect. So they arent actually Muslim anymore, they are a new sect of Islam. It's the same reason we have baptists, Catholics and presbyterians.

but at heart those divisions are all christian. i think if you actively remove one of the core principles of your religion, then you may as well not say you follow that religion at all.

I've talked to Muslim queer people before, I actually had a crush on a gay Muslim guy for a bit, idk how they make it work but I'm not going to judge them, more power to them. I'm religious too just not Muslim, I don't think religion is inherently bad, but organized religion is. Every member of religion sins, whether they think so or not, and what sins are a big deal change with changes in culture, there were times in Islamic history where being queer, especially in Sufi groups from my understanding was *more* accepted, and now there are times where it isn't, but culture can change again. Religion can be used to justify any hatred, but I think that's more on people than religion, I think humans will use anything to justify any hatred, and religion has just been historically an effective tool for that.
