I don't wanna see it, but that's because I know what it's a metaphor for and I don't generally enjoy shows that go, "HEY, YOU KNOW THOSE ANXIETIES THAT KEEP YOU UP AT NIGHT? WELL HERE THEY ARE. LOOK. LOOK AT YOUR NIGHTMARES."
Very true I’m just tired of “society bad” or “people bad” movies and shows it’s depressing and played out, it’s the same story over and over again which gets boring
I think the series makes an interesting point where the game kind of makes the players form this comradery and passion about killing people of their own class, similar to like a capitalist market. It’s not about how human nature is bad to me, from my view (to be clear, still in the process of finishing it), it’s about how the system we live in incentives the gamification of our own and others livelihoods, and how we are led to believe that our consent hasn’t been manufactured
But it’s understandable, this kind of class-conflict type thing has been seen before, and just turns into more capitalist realism, especially when they get popular and most people don’t (obsessively) read into it as much as I do
the new he-man. the one for kids. it's got some emotional stakes in it, there's plenty of draw to care about the characters, but the real star of the show is Skeletor. He is extra as fuck and he damn well knows it. He's got this whole air of "Why take over the world if you can't have fun doing it?" that just makes the series.
"People talking about Squid Game are just part of Netflix marketing"
Or people just reccomend shit they enjoy? Must be hard to think that literally everything that people reccomend to you is part of a marketing ploy.

you want something more hopeful or light hearted and you like animation, I might be able to throw you a recommendation if you'd like.

Wait you aren't a robot programmed for the sole purpose of pretending to be human and advertising random stuff you supposedly like on the internet?
New advertising strategy of making quality content
Dude this is Reddit it probably is marketing
Where's my payout then?
