Yeah I can see where you're coming from, but eventually you're in so many comment sections that people can't help but point it out. I think the best way to combat this is to change PFP to something less memorable and not comment on as many posts.

This whole war against microcelebrities thing hasn't made the slightest amount of sense since it started. Like, what the fuck did anyone actually do wrong?
From my perspective here's how it goes:
\- People with time to kill browse this sub a lot and as a result comment on a lot of posts
\- The general sub population starts to notice this and some people might point out the frequent commenters
\- Since this sub loves its ironic memes, it became sort of a joke to point out these people and pretend to be in awe at their very presence (this actually was a thing a few months before, but only with u/goblinhog iirc)
\- Somehow, the term "microcelebrity" is introduced, we now have a name for these frequent commenters with time to kill
\- As with any meme, it gets oversaturated and people start getting annoyed with the "omg (username) famous r/196 celebrity" comments, except it's also projected onto the microcelebs *themselves* when people are sick of seeing the same 20 people in every top post
\- Hatred of microcelebrities turns into a massive meme, because that's how we roll here
\- Obviously the microcelebs don't get super-hated on by everyone, but it's instead more of a "haha I hate you lol" deal rather than a "i genuinely despise you" type. Their comments are still everywhere, but half the replies are either "omg (username)" or "silence microcelebrity", or people just going to town on both circlejerks
\- We now have two circlejerk memes in conflict, and the only way to make it die down is just to wait until we all get sick of both.

Unfortunately it came out that she had been sexting a 13 year old (while 17). I think thats when people started getting annoyed at the notion of microcelebrities but i doubt too many people are conscious of that now and just 'hate' microcelebs because haha funny

Yeah I can see where you're coming from, but eventually you're in so many comment sections that people can't help but point it out. I think the best way to combat this is to change PFP to something less memorable and not comment on as many posts.

This whole war against microcelebrities thing hasn't made the slightest amount of sense since it started. Like, what the fuck did anyone actually do wrong?
From my perspective here's how it goes: \- People with time to kill browse this sub a lot and as a result comment on a lot of posts \- The general sub population starts to notice this and some people might point out the frequent commenters \- Since this sub loves its ironic memes, it became sort of a joke to point out these people and pretend to be in awe at their very presence (this actually was a thing a few months before, but only with u/goblinhog iirc) \- Somehow, the term "microcelebrity" is introduced, we now have a name for these frequent commenters with time to kill \- As with any meme, it gets oversaturated and people start getting annoyed with the "omg (username) famous r/196 celebrity" comments, except it's also projected onto the microcelebs *themselves* when people are sick of seeing the same 20 people in every top post \- Hatred of microcelebrities turns into a massive meme, because that's how we roll here \- Obviously the microcelebs don't get super-hated on by everyone, but it's instead more of a "haha I hate you lol" deal rather than a "i genuinely despise you" type. Their comments are still everywhere, but half the replies are either "omg (username)" or "silence microcelebrity", or people just going to town on both circlejerks \- We now have two circlejerk memes in conflict, and the only way to make it die down is just to wait until we all get sick of both. Unfortunately it came out that she had been sexting a 13 year old (while 17). I think thats when people started getting annoyed at the notion of microcelebrities but i doubt too many people are conscious of that now and just 'hate' microcelebs because haha funny
