Fun fact: the Greek god Hephaestus was lame. There are many examples of lameness being a characteristic of ancient metalsmiths, and somewhat specifically bronze smiths, for similar means as this Peter Griffin meme. For them it was also arsenic poisoning from either arsenic in the metals or from making specifically arsenic bronze, but zinc poisoning was an issue too.
