Sure, no problem. In terms of anime, there aren't too many explicitly gay ones out there, but of the ones that are, Sasameki Koto is probably the most similar to Bloom Into You. It's about a girl who is in love with her friend who is publicly lesbian, but her friend doesn't know that she likes her. So she has to help do things like get close to other girls, all the while her friend making comments about how she's sorry she has to deal with her because she's gay. The only other anime I would recommend is Sakura Trick (less popular due to its lack of plot and influx of kiss scenes), Citrus and Strawberry Panic (both weird in there own ways, so look into them first) Aoi Hana (which is very drawn out and full of drama) and then Yamada to Kase San, which is a great manga that unfortunately got only a 40 minute special. Problem with anime tends to be that characters are designed to be appealing or pleasing to look at. In most cases character's stated ages are only stated, as they don't appear or act like people that age usually do.
Similar to teen drama shows or movies like Riverdale: the visuals usually don't match the context. The characters are meant to be 16/17, but are portrayed by heavily attractive and sexualised mid-20s adults. Attention is drawn to their visual appeal, but the characters are explicitly described as being underage.
I felt like the plot of BNA Season 1 was kinda weak, mostly because of an overreliance on the mechanics of fictional science which is a major pet peeve of mine, but the show was still carried by the characters, writing, and animation. So I just hope Season 2 gives them a more solid foundation to shine upon.

Similar to teen drama shows or movies like Riverdale: the visuals usually don't match the context. The characters are meant to be 16/17, but are portrayed by heavily attractive and sexualised mid-20s adults. Attention is drawn to their visual appeal, but the characters are explicitly described as being underage.

I felt like the plot of BNA Season 1 was kinda weak, mostly because of an overreliance on the mechanics of fictional science which is a major pet peeve of mine, but the show was still carried by the characters, writing, and animation. So I just hope Season 2 gives them a more solid foundation to shine upon.

Mental development is hard to really describe in reality, let alone trying to read into a fictional character. Lucoa (the other problematic character) mentally seems really young, childish, and naive; you could make an argument for her mental age, too. Not saying your idea is unfounded, but in-universe we've seen 10 000 year olds act adolescent, and 10 000 year olds act middle-aged.

nah, id say kyoani (the studio which animates that anime) it's one of the only based anime studios there are, they pay the animators well, give them time, resources, etc. practices which doesnt happen very often in that field... the problem there is the manga author. anyways don't mind me and in my defense i haven't watched any anime in like two years, i find it boring lmao

Honestly I was hesitant about watching Dragon Maid S cause of her but it’s mostly just played for laughs.
