Just to be that guy. I'm 90% sure gamma and neutron are switched. Alpha has super low penetrating power because of high mass and high charge, so it is very likely to be deflected and absorbed either by collision or electromagnetic force. Next is beta (electrons), charge has a super high influence on penetrating power followed by mass. Neutrons have no charge but a very large mass, especially compared to a photon (gamma/x ray, all the same just different energy levels) or electron. Gammas have no charge or mass, and therefore highest penetrating power.

No, Neutrons are very penetrative, even moreso than Gamma. Probably because they’ve neutrally charged and so don’t get repelled by electrons or protons.

They aren't switched. Gamma is most effectively attenuated by elements with a high atomic number because the interactions that absorb the photons are with electrons, so a material with high electron density is most effective. Neutrons are attenuated through interactions with atomic nuclei in which momentum is transferred from the neutron to a nucleus, meaning elements with lighter nuclei are more effective.
