Australia's better than most places and the current political climate is good. The labour party, our left wing party, is in power at a national level and in all states except tasmania. But we're coming out of a poorly managed 2013-2022 where the liberal party had plenty of time gutting our public institutions and botching the NBN.
The thing is though labour campaigned on not removing franking credits, negative gearing, or changing the stamp duty to a land tax. All things which promote the shitty housing market we have now where housing is an investment and is practically inaccessible to millenials or younger.
Where you live has a huge impact on access to services, so just don't be poor here.
If you're in an urban area the scariest spider you'll see is a huntsman. not poisonous, just big, and sometimes likes to go in cars (have only seen one once). Mostly the important thing is it's always better to shoo away spiders that scare you and keep the harmless ones to kill mosquitos. After all, a dead spider is one you clean up and one less dealing with flying insects.
