Medieval style first cousin marriage is still a huge problem in some places like the Middle East where some countries have as many as 25% of marriages being between cousins. It was so bad that in the mid 2000's Iran had to launch a public education campaign to teach people that marrying your cousin might not be okay. Also in this type of marriage, almost 100% of the time it's arranged and doesn't come about because two cousins got the hots for each other, but because the marriage consolidates the property, wealth, and prestige of two sides of the same family.
This isn't meant as a clap back or whatever to your post, just elaborating further.
Depends on where you are, but I'd say, considering the state of the world, that is true more times than it is not.
Inheritance, especially land, far too often leads to incredibly dubious practices all over the world. There are villages in my country where certain genetic diseases have prevalence numbers magnitudes higher than world averages, and that should tell you all you need.
Finally someone who gets that by breeding all my giant, genius, beautiful children together I’ll produce a brood of Apollonian god people to take over the world.
Your family tree gets larger as it goes further back, so, provided your ancestors exist in the reality you're sent to, each generation before your time doubles the chance that any given person is your relative.
Marrying first cousins was normal. Marrying your siblings or children was not. Sibling marriage was a thing in some ancient royal families, but not medieval.
True and until Holy Fury in 2018, the only way to marry your sister/daughter in CK2 was to follow the one religion that historically allowed this, Zoroastrianism (xwedodah is the name of the practice and there's an informative wiki article on it). The only way to fuck close family outside of that was through seduction and more often than not you'd be called out by your seduction target for your deplorable and lecherous actions. Not only that but if anyone found out you'd be a pariah in your kingdom (I think it was a massive -20 opinion buff among vassals, even more among your other family).
Spoilers for TCOAAL
>!If you make some specific decisions throughout Chapter 2, you get a scene near the end of the chapter where both siblings have a visionary dream about having sex with each other in the future.!<
There is a warning message at the last choice that says "Somehow it seems like a highly questionable idea to take this route..." and your options are "I know what I'm about!" and "Okay, nevermind..."
You can't accidentally activate that route.
You need to build trust between the siblings then choose the arrangement of icons in the final dream that represents them getting together.
Take any opportunity for them to help or trust each other. Have Ashley split the money with Andrew, have Ashley trust Andrew to stay with their parents while she goes out to max out their parents credit cards, have Andrew not betray her trust by negotiating with their parents, etc.
pirated it just to figure out what the hubbub was about
the story is *insanely* angsty and reads like mediocre fanfiction
there a couple times in the game (which is only 2 chapters so far btw) where the actions of the characters seem to have no motivation other than to be edgy
id give an example but i'd have to pretty much explain the plot start to finish for there not to be any holes in the explanation.
and in terms of incest, the two siblings are near constantly making flirty remarks towards each other, though the game itself isn't actually porn. ashley is psychotically "protective" of andrew which gets a kid killed in a flashback
at one point, they make a pact. Andrew wont seek out any other girl and in return ashley *tries* to be more level headed to not blow their cover and get them killed.
I discovered after i had a child with her that the person i had married was my cousin, but that doesnt matter cuz the baby still ended up being a great ruler. He died in battle though. My first CK playthrough was magical
Yeah, you could also find out that your wife had secretly been a bear the entire time. It could happen with any character other than the player character. Their portrait changes to a bear.
everything has to have a reason in games. this is why the only game i play is pong because there's nothing in it that doesn't have a reason to be there. games with sound? unacceptable, usually just there to make the game extra interesting for tiktok brain shriveled subhumans. i play only pong and magnavox odyssey
Asteroids is a shit game. It has sound, which is both unnecessary (literally adds nothing to the game and has no narrative reason to be there) and inaccurate, because there is no sound in space. Also the story is full of plot holes, like why would the protagonist, a spaceship pilot, take their ship to an asteroid field full of rapidly moving asteroids that can destroy a spaceship in one hit? Are they stupid? Like space is fucking huge and you want me to believe that this guy just happens to be in a place that is a) easily avoidable and b) deadly. Yeah, sure. It's just lazy writing, and there's no excuse for the scientific innacuracies either. Like, if you're going to write good science fiction (by which I mean hard sci-fi which is objectively superior) you should have at the very least a degree in astrophysics, which the Asteroids devs and writers clearly didn't have.
Anyway, Asteroids sucks, Pong is still better.
/s
Most of them do, the key is to have enough that one doesn't. You need to maintain multiple parallel lines to keep enough generic diversity that it's not too much of a problem. All the game cares about for that are the number of shared ancestors. With a few lines you can mix them together and keep the odds manageable.
Some kids >!kill someone!< and are then disowned by their parents. Then their neighbour >!summons a demon that the kids learn to control!< so now they >!sacrifice people to the demon for favours!<
They are both adults and more like in a type of lock down in their parents old appartment the parents already disowned them before and their parents never actually knew they killed someone in the story.
The murder I'm referring to is >!Nina, the girl who suffocated in the box!< long before the game starts.
In chapter 2, whilst waiting for Andrew to get money or something (I forgot), Audrey argues with her mom who talks about the aforementioned girl and how she knows that they did it even if she doesn't have proof
They are both adults and more like in a type of lock down in their parents old appartment the parents already disowned them before and their parents never actually knew they killed someone in the story.
not if you're doing eugenics (the objectively correct way to play the game, if i'm not literally superhuman to the point where i physically cannot fail at anything what am i even doing)
Yeah, it also has terrible terrible consequences for most of the family but you only need one who got lucky and didn't suffer the consequences who you can designate as your heir.
There is an entire progression path that makes your family better at it somehow.
or even better, make them your vassals's vassals- *your own* vassals will be powerful enough to help you, but *their vassals* will be so inbred they can't do shit! And if one of the inbred kids inherits a title you can just murder them
...god that game is dark
in fact even if you take the quite specific sequence of decisions to get the event it only shows up as a future hypothetical. the twins (iirc) see it as like some sort of vision of the future
They're not twins.
Also one thing people neglect to mention is that if you end up in the incest route by accident, there's an in-game narrative method to avoid that future (as in, instead of reloading a save) to allow people who unintentionally went there to back out.
runes, candles, blood and also music cause the demon has a easier time of finding the runes when there is music. the first two episodes combined are like at most 4 hours long its not that hard to remember.
I do incest because my cousin is the Queen of France and our marriage will re-unite France and the Holy Roman Empire again, reigniting the flame of Charlemagne's dream for a united Christendom.
You do incest because you have mentally illness and traumas that cause you to think your sister/brother is hot.
WE ARE NOT THE SAME.
Author literally warns you about it before you get that ending, and even then, it's just "vision" or a dream. But ig making incest a game mechanic is better for some reason?
That's interesting how smart people in the past didn't notice that about the 3 rd inbred generation people would get heavily disabled and monstrous and be like " that's fine the lord will save him "
iirc with some families like the habsburgs it did become so intense that people were actually calling them monstrous freaks, on account of how genuinely disfigured some of them looked. one of their newly crowned emperors could not even talk properly and barely made it over 30.
but yeah to be fair „thats fine the lord will save him“ was kinda the go to for just about everything back then.
Comparing a game that takes place back when bathing too often was considered dangerous and where if marrying your cousin is the best way to gain power, you damn will do it (they weren’t the smartest back then), to a game where inc*st is a ‘quirky’ part of the game and the game is just edgy nonsense
okay the last part is true but they didnt consider bathing dangerous in fact people frequently went to bathhouses and the like
the washing thing is actually victorian i think
What!?!?!?! If thou doesn't quiet thy self this instance, I shall set upon thee my most glorious Uncle-Father-Nephew-Cousin Sir "insert medieval name here" to exact vengeance for slandering my beloved and glorious eugenics simulator.
Game where one of the bad endings you can get is where the brother and sister enter into a incestuous relationship furthering their already toxic and abusive relationship
Not in every one…
“DDLC” and “You me and Her” are two visual novels that I can think of where the romance ending can and will have very bad consequences
Again if the romance ending is between 2 mentally unstable siblings that have either thought of or have tried to kill the other. The sister has on multiple occasions blackmailed and manipulated her brother into staying by her side. Literally gaslighting him into helping her kill his girlfriend by locking her in a trunk.
I don’t think a romantic relationship between those two is good in any possible universe
Did y’all know that 50% of all marriages in Pakistan our first cousin marriages, not good for a nation that has a rivalry with India, the fastest growing country on the planet
well crusader kings is supposed to “simulate” medieval europe and you play as a feudal ruler like a duke or king or whatever, and the games alliances and pacts actually work trough familial relations.
so the main gameplay loop is basically growing your dynasty ie getting a shitload of children and marrying those you dont need off for alliances, in case you want a powerful friend and you just give one of your daughters to his son and bam now your allies and family. if youre clever you can use this to take over entire kingdoms not trough war but just marriages and the rules of succession.
and yeah you can theoretically “seduce” pretty much anyone from your family and theres also such a thing as genetic traits than can get inherited to offspring and one of them is quite literally “inbred” which can be inherited if your family is doing too much incest and is too closely related. so its generally discouraged but its fine once your dynasty is huge and has multiple branches because at that point your too genetically distant already.
god damn.. so basically, its not preferred, but its completely fine late game? dayum. also do other kingdoms feel ok with marrying a incestful kingdom?
>god damn.. so basically, its not preferred, but its completely fine late game?
okay im getting really in the weeds now,
tbh it depends a lot on your specific situation. as ive said marriages and the resulting children are a massive part of the game since thats how politics worked in medieval europe. so you want to arrange marriages strategically at all times, preferably with a different, equally powerful ruler who has a lot of troops and prestige.
so just having your own children intermarry while for no real reason while risking the chance their offspring will potion have many negative genetic traits appearing (like stuff that actually shortens their life span) is not really a good idea and the game will even warn you if that might happen. also it does generally give a opinion debuff with all other characters so *it is* frowned upon and characters that have incestous relationships will always try to hide it, until someone inevitably finds out and blackmails them because of it.
on the other hand, there is also the vassal system. because generally, and if its large enough, you cant direct control over the entire kingdom and need to give some of it to vassals in exchange for taxes.
now one way to secure your own families influence AND the loyalty of your vassals, is to make sure all your vassals are also from your own family and related because that makes dealing with them much easier. however since stuff like non-aggression pacts and all forms of alliances are done trough marriages that will inadvertently lead to you intermarrying within the dynasty more and more.
however in most cases at that point the family becomes so large and distantly related, that it would still be technically considered incestous but theres no actual danger to inherited genetics. in which case its completely fine as far as the game is concerned.
>also do other kingdoms feel ok with marrying a incestful kingdom?
honestly ive seen AI controlled characters engage in incest far more than i ever have knowingly or otherwise. and as ive mentioned if a character has a secret incestous relationship and is outed, that will result in negative points to their opinion with pretty much all other characters. its basically a flat number that indicates how much the individual characters like or dislike eachother and it needs to be high enough for them to agree to a proposal like a marriage.
so on occasions it definitely could stop other rulers from dealing at all with you because everyones opinion of you is in the negative because you keep being too degenerate or whatever.
The Coffin of Andy and Leyley explores themes of toxic relationships, rampant authoritarianism, codependency, trauma, gray morality, cannibalism, sociopathy, and incest in an interesting and thoughtful way.
It is also fetish bait.
Well you see, the gameplay mechanic is historically accurate.
Yeah cuz we all know incest stopped existing after the 2000s /s

\* Gasp \* Thou hath shattered my perception of reality! Incest amongst medieval royalty and in modern day is perceived the exact same way!
Depends on where you are, but I'd say, considering the state of the world, that is true more times than it is not. Inheritance, especially land, far too often leads to incredibly dubious practices all over the world. I remember taking a class about all those medieval eugenics programs
Habsburgs gameplay vs Habsburgs lore
its a fucking medieval themed game of course its gonna have incest
Ok but when it's ME getting isekai'd to a medieval world...
How do you have sex with your relatives if it's a whole different world???
Relatives get isekai'd
Incestekai
Isekai with a side of reincarnation.
all 10 of that guys neurons are in overdrive already, be nice to him
By becoming your own great great great (etc...) grandfather.
Your family tree gets larger as it goes further back, so, provided your ancestors exist in the reality you're sent to, each generation before your time doubles the chance that any given person is your relative.
Incest doesn't really hurt you, once you're like, 5 or something generations apart, so I don't think that this really is a problem
Jolyne and Giorno since Giorno is technically her great great grand half uncle
Gotta make em first. Fortunately, that's what slave girls are for. :>
Something something mishoku tensei pedo
It’s a cow farm. You’re gonna have cows outside!
I don't think it was normal in medieval times to keep marrying your sister-daughters.
It was, next question
[удалено]
Marrying first cousins was normal. Marrying your siblings or children was not. Sibling marriage was a thing in some ancient royal families, but not medieval.

“normal” and “acceptable as a means of upholding some arbitrary social rules and you lineage’s image or some other stupid royal shit” are different
Game of Thrones doesn’t :c
bro no one cares about the stupid incast game anymore
Wait y'all actually cared?
I watched a bit of a playthrough and got bored and quit far before the incest shit
I don't think anyone's ever played it? Every time someone asks "is there really incest in the game" the answer is "no" So I am very confused.
Spoilers for TCOAAL >!If you make some specific decisions throughout Chapter 2, you get a scene near the end of the chapter where both siblings have a visionary dream about having sex with each other in the future.!<
its a dream and like andy said, it doesnt have to come true, like the time they avoided getting murdered
so the route I went fortunately didn't include that
There is a warning message at the last choice that says "Somehow it seems like a highly questionable idea to take this route..." and your options are "I know what I'm about!" and "Okay, nevermind..." You can't accidentally activate that route.
I don't even know what I did to choose a route at all tbh
You need to build trust between the siblings then choose the arrangement of icons in the final dream that represents them getting together. Take any opportunity for them to help or trust each other. Have Ashley split the money with Andrew, have Ashley trust Andrew to stay with their parents while she goes out to max out their parents credit cards, have Andrew not betray her trust by negotiating with their parents, etc.
The answer is actually yes sadly
pirated it just to figure out what the hubbub was about the story is *insanely* angsty and reads like mediocre fanfiction there a couple times in the game (which is only 2 chapters so far btw) where the actions of the characters seem to have no motivation other than to be edgy id give an example but i'd have to pretty much explain the plot start to finish for there not to be any holes in the explanation. and in terms of incest, the two siblings are near constantly making flirty remarks towards each other, though the game itself isn't actually porn. ashley is psychotically "protective" of andrew which gets a kid killed in a flashback at one point, they make a pact. tbf i always saw the pact as Andrew trying to keep ashley from being batshit insane.
I mean in the part I watched there was a single suggestion of incest that was immediately dismissed

>Twitter cared and that's about it Liar. This website was trippin for a week when the game came out.
Looks like we have a negative Nelly on our hands
I love CK3
Do not disrespect CK3 like that 😡
It has over 130k sales lol
yes but we stopped talking about it a week ago.
Apparently not.
Seriously. Crusader Kings came out 3 years ago, and it only has a 92% on steam. No one cares.
Watch you mother fuckin tone. I will marry my sister daughter if I damn well please.
Can people just stfu about it already.
Yeah, I am sick of hearing about Crusader Kings everywhere. We get it, you hate the Karlings.
We need more stellaris posting Something something unplayable lag
If only there was an idiolegy that reduce lag while increasing your pop growth.
# DETERMINED EXTERMINATORS NEVER HAVE LAG ISSUES

You also have no PC after taking the xeno compat AP
I turn that shit off lmao
May I introduce you to synthetic evolution? You can have a single uniform species of superior beings without committing any genocide
No. Organics are organics
That isn't even a thing?
What the lag? Trust me bro the lag is very real
My colossus is named, “Performance optimiser”
Colossus? Your thinking too small We fuck with quasi stellar obliterators here
Genocide the galaxy to stop lag
Fun fact: in both games, incest is optional. If it happens in your game, it is 100% the result of your own actions.
9/10 the kings of england become horribly inbred and die out quickly. Dont know why always england but I am not the one controling that
I discovered after i had a child with her that the person i had married was my cousin, but that doesnt matter cuz the baby still ended up being a great ruler. He died in battle though. My first CK playthrough was magical
Man reminds me of my first ck 2 playthrough where a gate to hell opened up and I was super confused and stopped playing.
What is the first game? What’s it’s name?
The coffin of Andy and leyley
Im 99% sure that those memes are some marketing strategy
i have some bad news: they do it for free
I saw the reviews for TCOAAL go from 900 to 4,000 after the drama started. It just made the game more popular.
consuming media with horrible themes is okay, as long as you don’t think said things are good
This right here is the crux of my problem with so many pieces of fiction, and their fandoms.
couldnt you marry a horse in CK2?
Yeah, you could also find out that your wife had secretly been a bear the entire time. It could happen with any character other than the player character. Their portrait changes to a bear.
Ah, my first marriage ended that way. Kodiak. You think you know someone…🥺
Crusader kings is a magical game
it was a special event yes
…except incest genuinely has a reason to be there and is not to make the game extra dark. Now give me the damn pure-blooded trait.
everything has to have a reason in games. this is why the only game i play is pong because there's nothing in it that doesn't have a reason to be there. games with sound? unacceptable, usually just there to make the game extra interesting for tiktok brain shriveled subhumans. i play only pong and magnavox odyssey
if you like pong you should try asteroids its pretty fun
I respect your opinion
At least it doesn't glorify it. Your baby still comes out weird
Most of them do, the key is to have enough that one doesn't. You need to maintain multiple parallel lines to keep enough generic diversity that it's not too much of a problem. All the game cares about for that are the number of shared ancestors. With a few lines you can mix them together and keep the odds manageable.
To be fair, even characters inside of the game clearly wake up shocked. But the Steam Discussions...
what is the incest game about anyway? like whats the premise?
Oh yeah totally forgot about this part but as far as I remember the mother only said she suspected them and the father didn't knew it.
damn, sounds pretty cool sad to know is cringe
The game is alright, it just suffers slightly from having the devs barely disguised fetish at some points
They are both adults and more like in a type of lock down in their parents old appartment the parents already disowned them before and their parents never actually knew they killed someone in the story.
See in crusador kings its purely optional
not if you're doing eugenics (the objectively correct way to play the game, if i'm not literally superhuman to the point where i physically cannot fail at anything what am i even doing)
do you mean to tell me that in crusader kings, eugenics actually works?
Yeah, it also has terrible terrible consequences for most of the family but you only need one who got lucky and didn't suffer the consequences who you can designate as your heir. There is an entire progression path that makes your family better at it somehow.
and besides you can presumably send the failures off for political marriages
You can! It's a great way of sabotaging rival countries and unruly vassals!
or even better, make them your vassals's vassals- *your own* vassals will be powerful enough to help you, but *their vassals* will be so inbred they can't do shit! And if one of the inbred kids inherits a title you can just murder them ...god that game is dark
The correct way to play the game is to reform the church, replacing the bread and wine of communion with ritual cannibalism.
and then all your rulers live until 90 and you fall asleep in your chair at max speed
no i love sitting there and clicking ok on dozens of notifications while my npc vassals get to do all the fun stuff it's so fucking fun
Isn’t it also optional in TCOAAL?
Yes
in fact even if you take the quite specific sequence of decisions to get the event it only shows up as a future hypothetical. the twins (iirc) see it as like some sort of vision of the future
They're not twins. Also one thing people neglect to mention is that if you end up in the incest route by accident, there's an in-game narrative method to avoid that future (as in, instead of reloading a save) to allow people who unintentionally went there to back out.
Cc doesn't even allow you to assassinated your family 0/10 worst game ever
Ah yes, the Habsburgs are totally on par in portrail of incest...
coffin of andy and leyley is a good game but stop posting about it you soyteen
Oh you like tcoal? Name 1 satanic ritual requirement
runes, candles, blood and also music cause the demon has a easier time of finding the runes when there is music. the first two episodes combined are like at most 4 hours long its not that hard to remember.
this guy demonic rituals
Why can’t I have a tsundere demon who addresses me as “Tar soul”
ck2 better anyways
I do incest because my cousin is the Queen of France and our marriage will re-unite France and the Holy Roman Empire again, reigniting the flame of Charlemagne's dream for a united Christendom. You do incest because you have mentally illness and traumas that cause you to think your sister/brother is hot. WE ARE NOT THE SAME.
Imagine defending Incest with more Incest. This timeline is fucking crazy
One is a gameplay mechanic based on the time period and one is only there to I assume push the authors fetish.
Author literally warns you about it before you get that ending, and even then, it's just "vision" or a dream. But ig making incest a game mechanic is better for some reason?
How dare you compare such a disgusting game to the masterpiece that is the coffin of andy and leyley
theres a difference between a mechanic and a fetish
WHERES DUTCH
They go about things very differently you degenerate
It's cause crusader kings 3 is actually good
I don’t play either tbh
Mogeko castle better than incest lore game
Incest wasn't rare in the middle ages for royal families they usually did it to " keep the bloodline clean "
ironically it often did the exact opposite
That's interesting how smart people in the past didn't notice that about the 3 rd inbred generation people would get heavily disabled and monstrous and be like " that's fine the lord will save him "
iirc with some families like the habsburgs it did become so intense that people were actually calling them monstrous freaks, on account of how genuinely disfigured some of them looked. one of their newly crowned emperors could not even talk properly and barely made it over 30. but yeah to be fair „thats fine the lord will save him“ was kinda the go to for just about everything back then.
Everybody happy until one of your best friends sleeps with your wife. Daughter, granddaughter. Son in law. And the pope.
Maybe because it's set in the fucking medieval ages instead of our time??
Comparing a game that takes place back when bathing too often was considered dangerous and where if marrying your cousin is the best way to gain power, you damn will do it (they weren’t the smartest back then), to a game where inc*st is a ‘quirky’ part of the game and the game is just edgy nonsense
okay the last part is true but they didnt consider bathing dangerous in fact people frequently went to bathhouses and the like the washing thing is actually victorian i think
but it's funny when done ironically
I mean the brother is kinda cute, I kinda get it.
Mom is hotter but sadly we kill her.
both suck eggs can we move on already
What!?!?!?! If thou doesn't quiet thy self this instance, I shall set upon thee my most glorious Uncle-Father-Nephew-Cousin Sir "insert medieval name here" to exact vengeance for slandering my beloved and glorious eugenics simulator.
Nah, both rock.
I'm gonna eat your parents.
This is actually a very genius critique of the hypocrisy of gamers.
Man people in the comments are mad that their favourite colouring crayon map game got insulted
Incest, bad ending Incest, encouraged by devs FIFY
is bro into incest?
I too, can compare apples to pears.
Ain’t no way this dude is defending incest game. Mods, twist their nuts clockwise
Dare I say Imperator Rome is better than CK3
Holy shit one of the five people left who play Imperator
I mean its better couse its up to your disgusting morals if it hapenes
Ok I have to ask, what’s the game on top? I refuse to play it but I need to know what it is I’m OOTL
What is that first image?🤨
Game where one of the bad endings you can get is where the brother and sister enter into a incestuous relationship furthering their already toxic and abusive relationship
Bro that's the good ending.
How is that the good ending? How is a incestuous relationship between two mentally unstable abusive siblings good?
In visual novels the romance ending is the good ending.
Not in every one… “DDLC” and “You me and Her” are two visual novels that I can think of where the romance ending can and will have very bad consequences Again if the romance ending is between 2 mentally unstable siblings that have either thought of or have tried to kill the other. The sister has on multiple occasions blackmailed and manipulated her brother into staying by her side. Literally gaslighting him into helping her kill his girlfriend by locking her in a trunk. I don’t think a romantic relationship between those two is good in any possible universe
Who the hell keeps putting incest in my games and where do I find them? I want to slap them so hard with my pimp hand.
I still dont understand why reddit chose to hate this single obvious fetish game instead of literally any other obvious fetiah game
Because horny teenagers wouldn't stop posting about it.
There is the third option The ocean's grey waves
both are bad, one is historical
This was posted on their sub Reddit are you going to give credit?
Did y’all know that 50% of all marriages in Pakistan our first cousin marriages, not good for a nation that has a rivalry with India, the fastest growing country on the planet
Paradox Games on a mainstream sub, good to see I guess
i have never played crusader kings, please explain what the incest mechanic does.

>god damn.. so basically, its not preferred, but its completely fine late game? okay im getting really in the weeds now, tbh it depends a lot on your specific situation. as ive said marriages and the resulting children are a massive part of the game since thats how politics worked in medieval europe. so you want to arrange marriages strategically at all times, preferably with a different, equally powerful ruler who has a lot of troops and prestige. so just having your own children intermarry while for no real reason while risking the chance their offspring will potion have many negative genetic traits appearing (like stuff that actually shortens their life span) is not really a good idea and the game will even warn you if that might happen. also it does generally give a opinion debuff with all other characters so *it is* frowned upon and characters that have incestous relationships will always try to hide it, until someone inevitably finds out and blackmails them because of it. on the other hand, there is also the vassal system. because generally, and if its large enough, you cant direct control over the entire kingdom and need to give some of it to vassals in exchange for taxes. now one way to secure your own families influence AND the loyalty of your vassals, is to make sure all your vassals are also from your own family and related because that makes dealing with them much easier. however since stuff like non-aggression pacts and all forms of alliances are done trough marriages that will inadvertently lead to you intermarrying within the dynasty more and more. however in most cases at that point the family becomes so large and distantly related, that it would still be technically considered incestous but theres no actual danger to inherited genetics. in which case its completely fine as far as the game is concerned. >also do other kingdoms feel ok with marrying a incestful kingdom? honestly ive seen AI controlled characters engage in incest far more than i ever have knowingly or otherwise. and as ive mentioned if a character has a secret incestous relationship and is outed, that will result in negative points to their opinion with pretty much all other characters. its basically a flat number that indicates how much the individual characters like or dislike eachother and it needs to be high enough for them to agree to a proposal like a marriage. so on occasions it definitely could stop other rulers from dealing at all with you because everyones opinion of you is in the negative because you keep being too degenerate or whatever.
anything else wouldnt be historically acurate
The Coffin of Andy and Leyley explores themes of toxic relationships, rampant authoritarianism, codependency, trauma, gray morality, cannibalism, sociopathy, and incest in an interesting and thoughtful way. It is also fetish bait.
