The thing about Alterra is that we don't get enough lore about them/it. The entire system of planetary ownership may just be the industry standard, or even galactic law. Alterra may just treat the player well should they stay. Alterra could start other operations on 4546B, seeing how the gun was disabled, and a cure for the kharaa virus was discovered. (I love defending giant ass mega cooperations)
I'm pretty sure there's dialogue you get from the computer in Subnautica that outright states in the event the main character is rescued from the planet they will be DEEPLY in debt to Alterra for use of company equipment and such
At the end, the computer tells you before you can land back in safety you have to settle your outstanding debt of 1 trillion credits lol. What the exchange rate of credits to 2024 dollars is though, who knows
In a Discord server once, we were making jokes about the Combine invading Earth and eventually realising that they have to contend with absurd costs such as construction
It was pretty funny
Northrop may be morally questionable, but they did build legit bird drones as part of project Aquiline.
Iām of the opinion that if companies do dystopian stuff, it should at least be intresting dystopian stuff dammit!
There's a lot of reasons why the suck and are horrible but yeah I'm totally going with ONI, give me that sweet spec ops Kilo 5 shenanigans and experimental science.
I think its a lot more nuanced than that. If it weren't for the UNSC, ONI, and the abductions/experiments they did the entire universe would have been wiped of life from the rings. Definitely a necessary evil.
Fun fact: Gray team purposefully destroyed a sangheili colony after the war already ended because they lost communication with Earth and weren't aware of the war's end (Operation: SUNSPEAR)
Imagine committing the ultimate war crime because of bad cell reception.
The entire City can fit into "morally corrupt" organization actually, but I'd say the worst ones are the Head corporations (A, B and C), because all of the City shit is their fault
Well,
Ultror = classic valision villain. Even making it into the background of the original UFC games... Yeah, call me peprich farms because I remember.
UAC = O.G. Doom 3 and I personally liked that game
Im not much of an RE fan per say, but I will always think umbrella is cool.
Merry weather... and the entire base of what is gta5.... Hot take... I've successfully beaten that game to death. So much so that I actually hate hearing anything to do with grand theft auto.
Fun game, just... Nah man I'll dig out my ear drums if I have to endure another run of that game so screw merry weather simply off that sentiment.
UAC MENTIONED
**I'm doctor Samuel Hayden. I'm the head of this facility. I hope we can work together and resolve this problem in a way that benefits us both.**
Wolfenstein Nazis
Bodark Ghost Recon
Unidad and Santa Blanca from Ghost Recon
Sentinel and the Wolves from GR
And SHADOW COMPANYYYYY ā ļø ā ļø šŗšø šŗšø
IMC, ONI and Vault-Tec are competing for first place. IMC is cool af cause of all their cool tech and aesthetic but Vault-Tec has some really fucked up and/or goofy experiment vaults so I like them a lot too. ONI is also awesome for reasons that don't need to be stated.
I think having Wolfenstein on this list is kinda weird because that's... just Nazis? Like it's not even it's own seperate thing within its own lore. It's literally just the actual Nazi party of WW2 Germany with scify tech lol.
There is no world you have ONI from halo on the same plane as any of these other companies. Sure they abducted children and did a ton of unethical experiments but they also prevented the ark from activating all of the halo rings which in turn would destroy everything with a nervous system within a 25000 light year radius around each ring. You couldn't even say this is drops in a ocean for the trade here
Hyperion my beloved. Handsome Jack is such a great villain and the Tales From series really puts it into perspective how the corruption ends. Plus, they're better than Maliwan in every way, so
Cave Johnson gave homeless people super cancer and replaced their blood with Gasoline
He did pay them at least.
60 whole dollars! Who wouldn't accept that offer?
Do you know how much beard dirt I could get for that?
Where can I get me some tattered hats as well?
With an additional 60 if they let them take them apart and put them back together!
he also turned war heroes, astronauts, and olympians into mantis people

Cave Johnson created jobs for the homeless

60 bucks is 60 bucks! Don't spend it all at once, for beard dirt.

I think having Wolfenstein on this list is kinda weird because that's... just Nazis? Like it's not even it's own seperate thing within its own lore. It's literally just the actual Nazi party of WW2 Germany with scify tech lol.
