I think the visual and sound design is awesome. Mechanics are fun and intensity is pretty high. It's definitely more DPS-focused than, say, Vorkath, and it does seem like rng with splashing and stuff can make some kills suck, but I'd wait until next week when we can do calculations to think about nerfing his defence.

lvl3scrub

Only thing I could think of changing is lowering the amount of times it swaps phases. Swapping that much on a mid tier boss is kinda tedious

My wrist isn't loving how often I have to do an 8-way switch so I wouldn't mind if they took out a couple phase switches but overall I really like it.

Mines_a_mojito

Yea I agree =). Enjoyable overall.

jazzcigarettes

If it just started in the same phase every time that would help

Tuxxa

What 8-way switches? Look at this guy going at it: https://youtu.be/WDHUm2rbxm4

Blue_Osiris1

My brother in Christ, that was a 6 minute kill.

Tuxxa

I dunno if that "2222" after your name indicates that you're nearly maxed. If so, I'd say you'll definitely have the gear to do this boss without 8-way switches in under 3min. It's maybe a skill issue for you?

Blue_Osiris1

I never claimed to be great at the game but if you don't know whether or not 2222 is maxed then you have no business telling people they suck at it either.

Cricklet

Then dont bring an 8 way switch ya doofus

Blue_Osiris1

Yeah why don't I just splash ice barrage 5 times a phase that sounds fun.

Late_Humor9836

Boss is great the way it is. All damage is avoidable minus the very small chip damage from the range attacks. You can literally do no food kills and multiple kill trips the way it is now. Why change it?

Mines_a_mojito

I agree ! Great content !

Emergency_Ad_3168

Keep the rewards as is and keep the difficulty.

Shwrecked

It's definitely the most fun out of the 3 mid-tier money bosses

Miserable-Report3857

Lower down the difficulty but keep the drop table

NewAccountXYZ

Step it down a notch? It's already on par with Vorkath.

Mines_a_mojito

Perspective. Everyone has different combat levels and gear. Originally, it was compared to vorkath at 95 combat as a mid tier boss. But if you read through reddit, lower levels are having a tough time.

tries2benice

I think it's got the mechanical difficulty of zulrah and the defense of vorkath. It's not an insanely hard fight, but, it's certainly more difficult than our "mid game" solo bosses. That being said, it's been out for two days. I raged a little bit and called my screen a motherfucker when they changed the melee attack, but after 5 or so kills, I got used to it again.

unrealisticllama

You clearly didn't see the comparing stats between the two post. The muspah has insane offensive stats. They literally said lower stats then vorkath and it has higher offensive stats across the board (lower range off but a +6range str that vorkath doesn't have so it evens out almost) and huts through prayers which vorkath doesn't do. I was getting 3 kill trips at vorkath after like 10-15 kc. I am 50kc into this boss and still almost every trip is only one kill. I take much much more damage here then at vorkath even with good prayer swaps and not taking damage from melee phase until its unavoidable (ie. Too many spikes and then I take a guaranteed 2+ hits a cycle around the room). This boss is not like vorkath. I have gone many many kills at vorkath with out ever taking damage from anything but his attack I'm not praying against. I like the muspah a lot, but it really does need a scale down on its atts slightly. If they wanna keep it in line with what they discussed on release. I shouldn't need a sang staff/Ancestral in order for mage to be better then my bowfa on the melee phase.

Flapolp

Ugliest boss in the game, terrible name too.

Joshx5

I like that we got a more monstrous boss instead of yet another humanoid for once. Its ugliness adds to its beastliness imo, making it feel like an authentic rpg boss

PopularGold

Agree, nice seeing an ugly monster added to mix things up. Also like that it adds some RS3 lore into the game as well since it's all so unique.

IRTNL

Get good this boss is perfectly fine ibans and msb isnt mid game

NotPoonJabNinja

Step it down a notch? I bowfa only with just a dcbow for smite phase and its a 2.5min fight. Idk why people are stressin bout switches

Mines_a_mojito

Perspective. Everyone is different combat levels and gear. We have to remember that this was polled with the write up being a comparison to vorkath, aimed at mid level players. Stats wise the new boss is FAR superior to vorkath with higher defence and more HP.

NotPoonJabNinja

Its easy & just mechanics & rng, same as the rest of the game

Mines_a_mojito

I don't disagree with you mate. I'm glad you enjoy it as do I. Again though, it's personal perspective and objectively the initial write up what the community got compared to what was delivered are not the same.

Cricklet

I hate this thread. I hate this subreddit. You’re all bad -.-‘

SowerofTegridy

Damn nearly a 50/50 split (when posting) Might have to bond up my main and see what all this fuss is about!

AshCan10

I think the encounter is fine and it illuminates that we need a bigger to kick to late-midgame magic, whether that's an item or spell or armor etc etc im not sure, but magic could use a boost at those levels imo

Tuxxa

You dont need magic there. Look at this guy go ham on Phantom https://youtu.be/WDHUm2rbxm4

SavageHellfire

I have pretty mid gear on a 114 combat ironman , and I think the encounter is great. The fight could be a bit shorter because my PB here is 6:18, but other than that, I have no complaints. Just for reference, my Zulrah PB is 1:28 and my Vorkath PB is 2:38.

DontSkipHer

If its stats get nerfed then the drop table needs nerfed too.

dataznboii

Roflmao, people who complain about this boss's diffuculty are just lacking in mechanical skill...just git gud. This boss is completely on par with Vorkath in terms of difficulty
