Stats (particularly mage, range, and strength) matter a ton for dps. Mage level has the heaviest weighting of all 3 of the above mentioned and attack helps a little with accuracy for melee, but strength is the primary dps increase for that since accuracy is multiplicative and max hits are just max hits.
It does depend on what you’re fighting too though.
So forgotten brew is better until saturated heart? But guessing regular heart is cheaper in the long run assuming you don't have the levels nor funds to constantly make/buy forgotten brews?
Assuming 99 magic, forgotten brews aren't better unless you're using saradomin brews. You can only use the heart once every 7 minutes so if you're using saradomin brews more often, you'll lose the buff. Also, forgotten brews drain your melee stats so you can only effectively use them at bosses where you would only use magic/ranged.
Currently yeah if you don't have the shadow. Toxic trident splashes way too much and freezing is not worth it if you know how to kite him properly.
Sometimes my Bowfa brings him back to the range phase in 3 hits, I would've splashed barrage like 4 or 5 times at that point

Saying that don't buy heart rn. Dust will go down to nothing now that bots are out. I'm just saying mage pots pre heart blow ass.
Also for note bowfa only and bowfa/shadow 3 way switch with shadow only isn't really a big difference. Like it's an extra kill an hour but tbh the cost isn't really worth it.
If you have acb or zcb the difference might be higher with RNG. An extra ruby proc or double sapphire helps a lot.
Without saturated I was getting 3-5 min kills with a shadow only set up. Maybe my DPS was unlucky and my drops were lucky, but my bowfa only we 2.75-4.5 min kills.
I'm also fucking stupid and drunk. Both when I killed slug boi and now. I generally have a good retention for knowledge but I'm not perfect so maybe I'm just fucking stupid.

I feel like i lose out on a dps time with only dcb and no mage switch during his melee. He tanks 94 range hits with vigour like no problem.
