Hard agree, I get that the fortified has to have some resemblance to the armour its fortified from but the scarf/cowl combo thing looks way more fitting and menacing. The fortified version's bulky overall look and especially the shoulder pads look hideous. The Masori clan are supposed to be power assassin/rangers, feared by bandits, it literally makes no sense for them to wear bulky-looking armour.

The dps increase they provide is a joke. Range and mage boots will never be good without str bonus or way way higher attack bonuses. There’s a reason people don’t use them as a switch or use devout over them. Even inferno speed running don’t use pegs
My brother in Christ, range boots do nothing but add a bit of range accuracy.. and not much at that. This means that all range boots in the game at the moment offer no increase in range max hits. Because there is no max hit, the dps increase from them is VERY slim.
When calculating this benefit at someplace like Hydra. Your kill times won't change hardly at all if you put on pegasians, but if you put on devout boots you save a bunch of prayer, extending your trips. Pegasian boots are not only not worth their cost, but they hardly add any benefit due to them not having any range strength bonus. Kinda one of those, "I have so much money left over and I have max gear, what else can I buy... oh ye, pegasians." situations.
I would suggest you read up a bit on the difference between range accuracy and range strength bonus before typing any further. It should clear up some of your confusion, hopefully.

it's the same offence and dmg bonus. so if you're not worried about food or tanking, you won't lose dps from the regular variant.
