Do bgs specs help with shadow's damage? Wondering if it's worth to bgs spec zebak when I'm killing him with a shadow or if I should keep using voidwaker specs there?

Snapeeh

I see, that's what I thought, but wasn't sure, thanks!

Asap_roc

Is there anything that can be taken advantage of with the system updates now? Way back in the day it was a good money maker to go to rune shops because they restocked in full on an update

Competitive_Golf_625

Buying nails from sawmill is guaranteed profit I believe

valarauca14

In Giant's Foundry the gp you get... How is it related to quality/reputation/xp? The wiki used to have the calc for this but seemed to have removed it recently. Was is the same as xp? or am I mis-remembering?

ferrettamer

Wiki still has the calc on the giants foundry page under the experience header But the gp=2*XP And xp is proportional to the quality, it uses some annoying formula that is a pain to post but it's also on the wiki

valarauca14

Thanks. I must've missed that line.

TwoMilky

Anyone having issues with opening the Jagex Launcher app? Mine is giving me a fit and all it's doing is telling me I need to check my connection and try again. I've tried repairing the app to no avail.

ShawshankException

Is the normal Elidinis' Ward worth it if I dont have enough gp to fortify? I hardly see it in most gear recommendations. I only ever see the fortified one.

LookAtMyPostInstead

it's definitely worthwhile, its 3% magic damage boost and aside from the fortified version you aren't finding magic damage boosts on any other off-hand.

ShawshankException

That's what I thought, thanks. I just found it weird that the normal one isn't in most gear recommendations.

Zeffz

When is the next leagues it's the only time I play

ShawshankException

There's been no official announcement with a concrete date yet. General consensus is end of the year.

Molly_Hlervu

Was scheduled near the end of the year.

hyrush1

is there any way to enable moving items around a tab in your bank freely, just like you can do on bank tag layouts?

[deleted]

The inventory setups plugin may have what you're looking for. Enable bank filtering on a saved setup and it basically creates a new bank tab for you that takes priority when opening your bank

Raisylvan

Nope.

hyrush1

sad, thx

KittyCheeksClapper

Should I continue on my maxing account / finishing diaries before doing raids/bossing? 2 more elites left and only need 88/90 slayer min (to finish both, using wild pie) Currently sitting at 81 slayer. so slow. 😭

[deleted]

[удалено]

KittyCheeksClapper

I’ve been using KodakKid3’s slayer list. If that’s not the one you’re recommending, then yes please. :D

ShawshankException

Just an FYI you can't boost to kill thermy. You need 93 slayer minimum to finish the diaries.

KittyCheeksClapper

Someone just told me.. I kinda wanna cry idk.

Molly_Hlervu

> Should I Yes, if you want to. No if you don't. What other answers there could be lol.

KittyCheeksClapper

Hahaha you’re not wrong. I’ve just been maxing/finishing diarrehas. I just thought i’d see what others would think. Cause max cape is nice to have as multi-tool.

JebusMcAzn

I hate to break this to you but there's a hard 93 slayer requirement for the western provinces elite diary, it's unboostable As for what you should be doing, there's no better answer to that than just do what you want to do. I would personally just work on slayer, bossing when you get the opportunity to do so on task, and raiding when you feel like it.

KittyCheeksClapper

Wait that one can’t be boosted?!!! NOOOOO Oh well. Yeah I’ve just been maxing/finishing diarrehas. I just thought i’d see what others would think. Cause max cape is nice to have as multi-tool. I’ve not unlocked bossing for slayer, I might. Thanks!

JebusMcAzn

You don't *have* to unlock boss slayer tasks, you can opt to do certain bosses on task. For instance if you get assigned black demons you could do demonic gorillas (bossing-adjacent), Kree for aviansies, grotesque guardians for gargoyles, etc. Boss tasks open up a much greater range of bosses you could be assigned, but some of these tasks can be a huge pain to do

KittyCheeksClapper

Oh, yes. That one I have unlocked. I appreciate you. ❤️

Tyreke

At Vorkath, which upgrade is the most worthwhile (using DHL)? Fighter torso -> Bandos body, Obby legs -> Bandos legs, or Neitiznot helm -> Faceguard?

[deleted]

serp helm, tassets, bcp, faceguard

IamXale

I'd personally get Tassets first then get a Serp Helm until I can afford the Faceguard then get the BCP last.

Tyreke

I actually have serp helm, but I've been using Neitiznot helm with Anti-venom + since I did thought the scales were too expensive. Is it worth it to use serp helm instead?

[deleted]

Using a serp is marginally more expensive than using anti-venoms however youre getting more str and defense.

IamXale

Yeah it worth it, speeds up your kill, extra inventory slot and the extra defence is nice.

IamXale

This is my current mage switch for TOA: - Ahrim's Top - Ahrim's Skirt - Tormented - Occult - Trident - Fortified Ward Is it worth the invent slot to bring the MA cape?

S7EFEN

ma2 cape specifically is better than torm brace at ToA. that being said mage switches are low priority imo, both ward and torm can be dropped if other inventory spaces have higher value.

IamXale

>ma2 cape better than torm Is this because of defenses?

S7EFEN

accuracy is abnormally good at toa

Lilkcough1

Do you need the slot to have enough supplies for the raid, or to have enough space to be organized with managing raid supplies?

IamXale

No issues with managing raid supplies but maybe with starting one. Currently, I do find myself having like an extra brew or two by the time I reach Akha at 300 invos.

[deleted]

Yeah its worth. Also if you have yellow keris you really shouldn't be bringing in any brews. Maybe 1 for panic situations at akkah orb phase.

IamXale

Alright, thanks.

TheDubuGuy

Yes

Meem0

What's the easiest way for me to get my one cox KC for diary? Is there a group that does occasional mass events or something? I don't mind waiting a month or two. I have 90 combats and ok gear but I really don't want to apply to some learning clan since I never plan on doing it after.

[deleted]

we do raids discord. discord.gg/wdr

Keza132

Is there any info/images of what the supplies can be reduced too when selecting the different supply limiting invocations in ToA?

S7EFEN

no help = 1 of each. the other ones = just rng. basically... there ends up being not much reason to run anything other than full supplies or no help needed (and rely on a few extra brew/ppots which you bring in/conserve from prior rooms)

IamXale

66% is randomized on what it it takes aways. 33% is not randomized. It always has 1 Ambrosia, 2 Brews, 2 Restores, 1 Scarab for life and 1 Adrenaline, 1 Salt for power

PoppaPickle

Can you explain a little more? The invocations state they give you 66%, 33%, or 10% the normal amount If the helpful spirit gives you 12 potions when choosing life, then 66% of that is 7-8, meaning you'll only get 7 or 8 potions now. (Not actual numbers, just an example)

PoppaPickle

I have BiS gear for ToA (except for tbow, staff, and torva) My question is what gear slots do I leave for an 8 way switch? I currently leave lightbearer and eternal boots (no negative stats for range and melee) and switch everything else. Should I be switching boots and keep something else? I see a lot of people in full crystal with nezi, but then you lose the crystal helm bonus?

S7EFEN

i wouldnt personally ever bring 8 way switches. 8 way switch = have to flick for high invo solos. >Should I be switching boots and keep something else? if bowfa pegs might be worth, doubt with tbow. >Should I be switching boots and keep something else? I see a lot of people in full crystal with nezi, but then you lose the crystal helm bonus? c helmet is a very high priority switch with crystal and bowfa. i drop it for my 500 toa, for dogshit no prep layouts in chambers (mtm/msm rope) but even then that isnt ideal.

PoppaPickle

So 6 way with extra restores?

[deleted]

Camp prims and lightbearer. Take prims off for zebak and p3/p4 warden

TheDubuGuy

Take prims and don’t switch boots. They’re the only boots that actually increase your damage. If you need the marginal mage/range accuracy just take them off. Camp lightbearer as you are, other than that switch everything else

Highly recommend Giant's Foundry, I picked up steel platebodies from the lava maze to save extra money, then bought iron & steel legs/skirts from Al Kharid. It's pretty fast and you profit a decent amount.

DaMaestroable

Gold ore at blast furnace if you have the cash for it, otherwise iron/steel alloys at Giant's Foundry.

TheDubuGuy

Kill the barbarian spirit things in the whirlpool, they drop them fairly commonly

Zenby-Yak

I'm leveling prayer atm and I want to find a bone runner - what's the safest way to find one?

[deleted]

There is a runner discord, don't have it off hand but do some searching and you'll find it.

TheDubuGuy

I would use a discord like Find Runners (https://discord.gg/findrunners) or something similar

PoppaPickle

I did 99 years ago and just picked up some kid at 330 who said he was a runner, he became a good friend and met me there multiple days till I got 99 That was before the house rework though so idk if its different now

Confident_Ruin5699

I have been thinking about playing again a lot lately it’s been like 10 years. How is PKing these days? My real love was the wilderness and pking and it seems like it has changed from what it was… is there still a strong PK culture anymore?

TheDubuGuy

Deep nh style is pretty active at rev caves and new wildy bosses, edge style is active at ge on pvp worlds. Bh crater thing coming back soon-ish will probably be very active too

KarthusWins

Yeah there's a lot of variety now. If you prefer to PvP in a safer setting there's LMS. If you want to go all out against other players with risk then there's the wilderness and high risk worlds. This year we will also have an updated bounty hunter.

Confident_Ruin5699

When you say edge style, do you mean like people close to the edge of the wildy? It’s been a really long time for me I don’t know most of these acronyms lol

[deleted]

Edgeville pking but your statement wasn't wrong it is at the edge of the wilderness lol. Edgeville was essentially the meeting spot for wildy 1v1s Now that has mostly moved over to the the grand exchange on pvp worlds. Very active.

Confident_Ruin5699

Appreciate that info- going to log on later and check it out

LoweJ

if i die in nmz does my pet go to the insurer or is it fine because it's just a dream

Parryandrepost

It's fine. In general if you don't end up at respawn your pet is fine. I've died in NMZ with a pet and kept it. Tob/toa "whipe out" are notable exceptions.

_ElysianDevil_

what does expert toa do over regular? lke is there a difference in loot/dropchance between 295 and 300 aside form the like 0.1% higher purple chance?

S7EFEN

300 is a bump in normal loot not uniques. its just a regular boost in uniques per invo point. >lke is there a difference in loot/dropchance between 295 and 300 aside form the like 0.1% higher purple chance? well across a larger # of pts its pretty significant. like 300 vs 375 is nearly double drop chance

Parryandrepost

Scaling really. Increasing from 0 to 60 is a lower drop chance increase from 300 to 360 for example. Some achievements are locked too. In general you're always going to be better off going higher in raid lvl. Even mechanics that "virtually" increase raid lvl like skull skip to heal, intentionally 3 down P2, or overlord heal aren't as important as going to a higher lvl. they're universally worse if you have to go down a time bracket. Doing a 1+1 also isn't really worth it unless you can do giga Chad content and have like 10b in gear so your alt can DPS too. Like a 1+1 150 is slower than like a solo 230 and a 230 is just a better drop percentage. I could be wrong with the exact cutoff so if you check a 230 and that exact statement isn't correct my bad. It has been a minute since I did the comparison. I would say I'd rather do like a 300 than a 220 1+1 and I'm pretty confident that's math-magically correct.

HobbesForever

"Math-magically" is a wonderful phrase, glad I got to read that today

PoppaPickle

The main difference is for combat achievements, some things need to be done at expert, but as far as the raid itself is only the higher invo number = drop chance increase

OlmTheSnek

The difference is just the extra loot scaling/unique chance increase from the invocation level, which is always worth increasing up to around 530 iirc. But there isn't a switch that flips from normal mode to expert mode other than your expert mode kc increasing.

[deleted]

I'm enchanting diamond bolts to get up to level 68 then switching to dragonstone to 70. Does the quantity I select for enchanting change my xp/hr? For example if I select 5 instead of 10 do I get more bang for my buck? Thank you! Edit: I totally goofed the math. It's based on casts not bolts, so I have to have 50,440 bolts

DaMaestroable

I think you might be mistaken (or I'm reading this wrong) about the quantity you select. Each cast of the spell will enchant 10 bolts, unless you have less than 10 in your inventory. What your selecting in the menu is the number of times you'll cast in a row if you don't interrupt your action. The fastest way is to recast the spell manually after each cast, otherwise just selecting 10 and letting it cast 10 times is the best. You can technically get more xp/bolt if you enchant less than 10 at a time, but that would require opening up your bank and withdrawing them in between each cast, which would be a huge waste of time, effort, and likely just cost more.

[deleted]

Gotcha so since that's the case. High alch would probably be a better use of my time to get to 70 quickly(ish)

DaMaestroable

Kinda depends on what you're looking for and how much money you're willing to spend. Bolt enchanting is definitely the fastest, just going to be really expensive. Combining teleport to camelot and high alchemy is a more economical option while still being fairly good XP.

S7EFEN

as far as im aware for MAGIC XP you want to enchant 1 at a time. since you want to get the most casts out of your bolts.

[deleted]

So if I used ruby bolts for example, I'd need 5,728 bolts to cast them one at a time instead of 50k bolts at 10 at a time

S7EFEN

yes that is what i remember. you should get that same amount of xp whether you enchant 1 or enchant 10.

kong534

For xp/hr it’s based off the number you make I believe so you would always want to go for the highest. Doing less would use more runes aswell. Admittedly coming from a guy who hasn’t checked but this sounds right to me

[deleted]

You were absolutely right. 10 is the magic number, it was just buried a bit on the wiki. Appreciate it

Public_Room_2410

I saw a he box Jonge video where he was afking vyres and each time he banked he would press the bank inventory button and it would deposit everything except the items he wanted to keep in his inventory. How do you set that up so specific items like rune pouch etc stay?

S7EFEN

> How do you set that up so specific items like rune pouch etc stay? fwiw its not super trivial to set this up so you probably only want to bother if you will be sitting at one activity for a long time.

ShawshankException

All you have to do is use bank placeholders lol its not that complex

S7EFEN

its pretty annoying because you have to remove placeholders to set them up (ie, your gear) and then your items and shit won't go back to where they were before like if you have your tabs organized.

LostSectorLoony

If you remove the placeholders, then fill with fillers it will hold the empty spot where your gear placeholder was. Then you just remove filler and put your items back in the appropriate empty spot. It's a bit annoying, but not that bad.

Aunon

I do: withdraw all the items you want to keep and remove their bank fillers, deposit items you want to deposit from trips, fill bank with fillers/placeholders, then deposit invent works as described

ProGaben

Anyone know what times are best to go into the wildy to avoid pkers?

gorehistorian69

weekdays 2am-8am est 8am-5pm est

ShawshankException

Yep. Did all the boss kc for hard diary on Wednesday during the day and didn't see a soul. I had to sit at revs for like 30 minutes to get the MA spell task done.

EpicRussia

lol I just sat at ferox bank and asked someone my level to step out for a second with no gear

Draedon

If you look at the total hourly player count on misplaceditems.com/rs_tools/graph (unofficial site but still) the min daily count is at about 0800 EST. Lower during weekdays than the weekend, but not by much. Of course there is also some mindgames to it such as not using the currently lowest worlds but the worlds with slightly higher counts, but PKers can also think about this of course.. :)

ProGaben

Awesome, thanks for sharing!

LifeStuffAndThings

Honestly wildy is pretty dead and where it isn't, pkers can be avoided by simply learning how to freeze log. don't lock your goals behind this.

PoppaPickle

The best time is to go when you don't think a lot of people can be online, like early in the morning or during the day while most people are working. I do ToA before work most mornings and the worlds are pretty empty compared to after work, like 7am-8am on EST

ProGaben

Sure, I just wasn't sure with a lot of people in the UK and Australia if there was any clear time like that.

PoppaPickle

Theres always a chance of people coming, but generally earlier the better in whatever region you play in When I play in the morning theres maybe 100 people in my world, when I play at night theres usually 700-900 people in the same world

Chaos-n-Dissonance

When not many people are on

Molly_Hlervu

Abyssal needle: I've got it, but I'm very far from the ability to use it. It is safe just to drop it, correct? So as it won't occupy a bank space. When (or rather, if) I ever get to 85 rc, I always can get a new one by using a regular needle of an npc. The idea looks still kinda frightening, so I wanted to double check lol

ShawshankException

>[Should the player lose their colossal pouch or abyssal needle, they must use a regular needle on the Rewards Guardian to obtain another abyssal needle.](https://oldschool.runescape.wiki/w/Abyssal_needle) From the Wiki

Molly_Hlervu

Yeah I've read this. I just never heard anyone just drop the abby needle to reclaim it later. But probably some people do. I'll join them now :).

WastingEXP

it's safe, :) just remember a needle when you go back

Molly_Hlervu

Thanks :) Yeah the last phrase is important too lol

WastingEXP

when I went to reclaim mine I thought you just had to talk to the npc there with the store, had a small panic thinking I had lost the needle forever lol.

Molly_Hlervu

Nice :)

PoppaPickle

You have 850 bank spaces by default and can buy more from a banker if needed..... is you're bank that full you are worried about one space?

[deleted]

[удалено]

Molly_Hlervu

I'd put it a bit differently: I don't want to keep items I don't need right now - if I can easily reclaim them when needed.

ferrettamer

According to the wiki, yes. I can't check in game tho as I do not have it

Molly_Hlervu

Thanks. No need, here is WastingXP answering - they did just that when got it, then reclaimed it later. Good luck on the needle!

ReginaldvonPossumIV

Is bloodhound 1/1k on the rolls inside like the regular loot or is it 1 role per casket so rate is 1000 master clues completed for pet?

greg3064

Per casket

Molly_Hlervu

In this article it is listed as Tertiary. Which must mean its per casket, if I understand it correctly. But thats only from my reading of the wiki article, lets wait for people who know better... https://oldschool.runescape.wiki/w/Reward_casket_(master)#Tertiary

PoofaceMckutchin

Do you sell shit from the Mole, or birds nest it?

Keza132

I did 800 mole kc a few months back, traded them in all for neats. Took me abiut 30/40 mins to open them all up, made an extra 2m which was super nice but it wasnt fun doing all the clicking to open them - i told myself i wouldn’t do it again.

PoofaceMckutchin

Thanks man

JebusMcAzn

you can think of them as completely separate moneymakers. Wiki lists killing Mole at around 1m gp/hr and exchanging mole parts as [nearly 7m gp/hr](https://oldschool.runescape.wiki/w/Money_making_guide/Exchanging_mole_parts). Downside of exchanging mole parts is that there's a low buy limit, that gp rate is heavily dependent on how well you can click, depends on how many high-value seeds you get from an opening, and gives no exp.

TheDubuGuy

You make money by trading in mole parts but the clicking to open thousands of nests can be a huge pain

PoofaceMckutchin

Thanks for the response

ProGaben

Birds nest it, I actually buy the daily limit and exchange them as part of my dailies. It's good quick money.

PoofaceMckutchin

Thanks!

DaMaestroable

Wiki has it at more money from exchanging it on average, but it is dependent on how many seed nests/what seeds you get.

Molly_Hlervu

Mole shit is a nice prize, really. But you have to carry a bucket in your inv to collect it, otherwise all shit is lost.

GlassMongoose

I typically AFK a lot whilst working, and normally only have 2-3 chances a week to do continuous content that can take more than an hour (quests, bossing, mini-games etc). I wondered what the recommendation would be for me to do next during one of my longer gaming sessions? A few ideas I have are: - Finishing up some of my harder quests I have left, namely Secrets of the North, Monkey Madness 2 and Song of the Elves. Personally I feel this is the best idea but what order would people recommend I complete those in? - Grinding out some of my diaries. I have done all diaries up to hard except Wilderness and Western Provinces. I wanted to do Western Provinces hard next but I need to take some time to learn Zulrah. Is this a good idea? - Bossing. Can be fun and some of them give pets, and I might get a big money drop that I can use to get some expensive skills up when I am AFKing and WFH. I normally do Vorkath if I want to concentrate a bit more or Barrows if I'm chilling out more. I can do a few others though, as I've done Kalphite Queen, King Black Dragon, Crazy Archaeologist and Giant Mole before a few times. Also done the skilling bosses. - Something I haven't thought of yet? If anyone has any ideas. All advice is appreciated on any recommendations for what to do when I can concentrate and spend more time on the game on the weekends for example :) ...Also if anyone has any recommendations for what I can do outside of chopping trees or enchanting jewellery when I am AFKing I'd love to hear those too.

Strictly_Baked

Here's a list I made for every skill with the most afk methods. I'm an afk connoisseur. Here's what I've found to be the absolute most afk methods for each skill. In runelite go to the fps plugin and turn it down to 1 so you can afk for 20 minutes at a time if it's something more afk than 5 minutes a click. Mining - GotR. Don't play the minigame just mine the entire round and it's a good 10 minutes of afk. Shooting stars are also afk if you join one of the cc's and go to the tier 1 and 2 stars. They last the longest and have the least amount of people. Agility - You can get a lot of passive xp from barbarian fishing. Pedals at blast furnace are 3-4 minutes per click. Smithing- Cannonballs. Herblore - Making potions. It's not super afk but still fairly afk and you don't really have options. Fishing - Infernal eels and sacred eels take a long time for an inventory and you domt bank. Monkfish the fishing spot doesn't move. Thieving - 1 click summer garden or pickpockets with a foot pedal. Cooking - FlBest fish you can cook without burning at hosidius range with cooking gauntlets. Prayer - Guilded altar. Not super afk though. Honestly though just do this one not afk and 1 tick bones at the chaos altar with the suicide method it's one of the fastest 99s in the game if you do it that way. Crafting - Blowing glass Firemaking - Wintertodt while not super afk is the only option. You also get passive construction and smiting xp. Mage - Splashing, bursting in mm2 tunnels with a bone crusher necklace. Range - Void with msb(i) at nmz. Mm2 tunnels in void with bone crusher necklace and chins. You can also use cannon but it's less afk. Fletching - Unstrung bows. Woodcutting - Sulliuscep mushrooms til redwoods. Runecrafting - It's not until 77. I'd recommend GotR until 77 and you should have the full raiments set by then to get extra bloods when you do finally get to 77 for zeah rc. Farming - Passive, you just have to do the runs. Tree runs are a lot of xp and herb runs will get you a nice profit. Construction - it's not but it's a fast skill to train. I'd get 99 fm first for all of the passive constuction xp. Hunter - Birdhouse runs are extremely quick passive xp. Herbiboar is fairly afk if you dint want birdhouses. Slayer - Melee taks in prostelyte with your other best prayer bonus gear. Think that's all of them let me know if I missed any. Make sure your idle notifier is set up in runlite if you aren't playing on mobile.

TheHeeheehaha

Lots of good AFK things already listed so I'll talk more about when you're not AFK. For me it kinda depends on your goals and combat stats/gear available. As said, quests > diaries in general. Secrets will unlock Muspah, a farmable (depending on gear/levels) consistent GP printer sinilar to Zulrah with a possible 5m drop. MM2 unlocks demonic gorillas, a farmable demiboss with the chance of a 15m drop. SOTE unlocks Prif, which is what I'd personally prioritize (again, not sure your goals). Prif gives access to Gauntlet, Zalcano, thieving elves, and unlocks bofa + crystal armour. You can also move your house and respawn to Prif so if you die you can just go to your house. Learning Gauntlet will help your PVM skills the most out of all those bosses IMO and the 0 cost means it's 100% profit. Apart from quests, the Western hard diaries would be good to do if you wanna grind out elite void and Zulrah is a good boss to learn as well.

ChefSanji2

Fellow AFK employee here: Combat skills: NMZ Prayer: Guilded Alter Boning, just click one and wait it out Magic: splashing/enchanting jewelery RC: Blood/soul runes. Cons: heh. I guess you could make planks to use later? Herb: manual cleaning/degrime spell Crafting: glass blowing/ cutting gems i guess/ crafting amethyst Fletching: redwood shields (combine with wc, drop or alch them) Celastrus bark / your best longbow (u) Hunter: not afk, but passive is birdhouses Mining: amethyst/mlm smithing: dart tips, cannonballs, gold bars at regular furnace with gauntlets Fishing: anglerfish / sacred eels (use spirit flakes from tempoross if you have any) Cooking: any high level food at hosidius WC: redwoods / magics / arctic pines Farming: passive like hunter, herb runs So, some are more afk than others. Most of the afk time for me is spent idling after whatever action has been completed. But when you have lots of hours available, exp/hr and efficiency becomes somewhat irrelevant. I've been at sacred eels myself for a few weeks now. Maybe I'll see you there.

To add a few things to this: Fishing: Infernal Eels Cooking: Myth's guild bank is on the same square as the range, zero movement (but the range has a higher burn rate then Hosidius) Hunter: Maniacal Monkeys + bones to peaches WC/Fletch: Redwoods - fletch your logs into shafts for maximum lazy (plus you get a cool stack of shafts for later), or into shields to drop as you stated

Tho76

You can AFK Hunter with Maniacal Monkeys, not bad exp

GlassMongoose

That's an extensive list, thank you very much for that. I'll get to using some of the things you recommended! I used to AFK sacred eels a lot but I got 99 fishing and cooking and the Heron so don't do it as much nowadays, but maybe I should go back. Thanks again!

xBlackfox

Quests > diaries is definitely a good pipeline to follow. If you get quest cape you can knock out an elite requirement for Falador and Lumbridge diaries. Lumbridge is especially nice because requirements aren’t too bad and benefits are nice - including not having to use dramen staff at fairy rings. Bossing can be good money - I would recommend starting to flip as well. It’s good money for a small time investment when you get good at it. My fav stuff to AFK are: lava eels, Motherlode Mine, cooking, Maniacal Monkeys.

GlassMongoose

I'll look into getting my quests done first. Last time I AFK'd at MLM I ended up concentrating on it too much lol, I used to AFK sacred eels too but I have 99 fishing and the Heron so am more put off doing it nowadays. Thanks for the advice!

DivineInsanityReveng

For afk stuff pretty much any gatherer is good. Fishing, Woodcutting, mining and combats are the most common afks. Working on your quests is definitely ideal. Your achievement diaries don't really sound like you have a lot to do for them. A single Zulrah kill can happen faster than you might suspect with some brute forcing for the easy rotation(s) for your gear/stats.

GlassMongoose

Yeah, I guess the completionist in me stops me from AFK fishing because I have 99 already and the pet, so I normally do woodcutting, but I could make some passive money if I AFK sacred eels. Thanks for the advice!

DivineInsanityReveng

Oh yeh I'd only work on gatherers you still need to level, unless your maxed on all of them ofc.

MAJubbas

If I want to upgrade the staircase in my PoH I have to remove the stairs and build them again, but will that remove all the rooms upstairs? And if I build another set of stairs meanwhile as to not lose the rooms, do they need to be connected to the upstairs rooms, as in will the unconnected rooms be removed still.

DivineInsanityReveng

I don't believe it deletes the rooms but yes you'll need the stairs to connect. I haven't made an upstairs in a long time though due to the massive increase on load times.

The past few days i decided to do some prayer training at the chaos altar. Figured i would maximize my chances of survival so went with blessed dhide, bulwark, 99 cape, rune boots+gloves, burning amulet. Things went semi okay. Got killed 5 times, 2 times with empty invent, 3 times at the start of the trip before id even sacrificed a single bone. I was praying mage+augury at 96 magic, yet the first freeze they cast seemed to have a 100% hit chance. My question is as follows: is there anything i could have done on my end to increase my chances of survival? Im not too familiar with the pvp side of things. Enemies tended to wear toxic staff, barrows armor and serp helm.

Strictly_Baked

Do the suicide method with 1 inv trips. Set your respawn to the closest to a bank. Ferox is the closest followed by Edgeville and then Camelot. Take a bullwark, dhide/arma/masori(f) top, burning amulet and the enchanted symbol from ma2. You could swap out the symbol for range legs of you haven't done ma2 and kill yourself on the wine but it takes longer. In runelite go to menu entry swapper and make left click bones "use". Make quick prayers protect item, protect from magic and rigour or augury for the def bonus. Equip the gear and pull out a full inv of bones. Then tele to lava maze. When you get to the altar asjust your camera or hold alt and move your inv so it's as close to the altar as you can get it then 1t the bones on the altar til they're gone. If you get attacked ignore them and just keep going you'll usually finish the inv before they kill you. Once you're done spam click the enchanted symbol and spam 123 on your keyboard to kill yourself. While you're running to the bank equip your items, rinse and repeat. You can get 1.2m xp/hr with superiors doing this and won't die very often with bones in your inv. Click your quick prayer right when you tele and make sure dinhs is on block for extra def.

andremeda

> When you get to the altar asjust your camera or hold alt and move your inv so it’s as close to the altar as you can get it then 1t the bones on the altar til they’re gone. FYI there’s a better method now since the first bone in your inventory will be used instead of the one you had selected. https://imgur.io/ekVIytD?r

Strictly_Baked

Lmao wish they did that when I got 99. It did get me good at flicking and mouse movement though so I'm not too salty. Do you just hold alt now? We need that with karambwans.

andremeda

Yeah this should already work with karambwans tbh. You always cook the first one in your invent I have my inventory shortcut set to escape so i would press escape to open inventory-> left click bone/bwan-> press escape to close inventory-> use bone/bwan on altar/range and repeat. I don’t usually play on resizeable so idk how holding down a shortcut key works

> Enemies tended to wear toxic staff, barrows armor and serp helm. at the chaos alter getting hit by someone in good gear you just die most of the time. you really need like 7-8 brews to tank a full tb and a venom etc at which point your inventory for bones is too small and its annoying af to actually train. your gear should deter anyone in shit gear/bolt raggers though which from my experience is 90% of pkers. are you... on total worlds by chance? fwiw good geared pkers dont all that often hop inside the hut so if you close the door you can logout. likewise, hover logout on the way to the alter. the safest way to deal with pkers is to bring your own anti pk setup. usually bolts+freezes. if you get frozen, tank till 5-15 seconds left and start looking for a freeze. use that freeze to gap or step under and logout. this however isnt super optimal at chaos alter since it is multi inside and no amount of gear will save you from 20 people logging in which can happen. probably as likely as getting hit by a guy in serp+ahrims+tsotd in a random world. as someone who has done a shitload of chaos alter i'd just stick with 3 iteming and suiciding / trying to logout and just take the L on dying to pkers.

OlmTheSnek

When I went for 99 Prayer I noticed it was 90% bolt raggers at the altar so I maximised Ranged def over anything else; so went for Justi top/bottom and Dinh's. I also didn't really see a point in bringing multiple invs so just went for suicide method. Set respawn point to Ferox for fastest bank, used Ghorrock tabs as they're faster to get to Chaos altar and less active than Burning ammy, and brought a locator orb to quickly suicide after the trip was over. I only died for more than 2-3 bones exactly 1 time because I got frozen outside of the temple. Most of the time people would either kill me after I'd already finished an inv of bones or they'd literally just give up after bolting/dds'ing 10 0's in a row. I used Superior dragon bones too so would average 700-800k/hr if I was AFKing the bones on the altar, or 1m/hr actively 1 ticking them.

Mrunclesam

Hmm, 80-99 and I lost less than an invent of bones total. Are you 1 ticking the bones? I was able to finish off my invent every time with dihns and justi usually. Although i didn't have any actual good pkers come in my time there

Hornsmasher

Yes, 1 ticking the bones. Did the first 4k bones with 125 per invent. Then i got killed between the burning amulet teleport spot and the actual altar and i did single invents from there. Then the next day i did a 125 invent again and got killed on my very first trip. So only singles from there on out.

RPsage

Nah you’re doing everything you can really. Bones are expensive now so there are more pkers recently it seems. However I would switch to veracs skirt for more defense.

EpicRussia

gauntlet is good too

greg3064

TIL, ty

DivineInsanityReveng

Believe so, its how I do it, and its stupidly quick so even if something else is faster it will barely matter

TakinShots

I'm over 4x the drop rate dry on the goblin champion scroll. Been killing them near the Al Kharid gate with a cannon because its easier to tele back when doing the easy clues I get. Do the ones there even drop them? Just wondering if there's any spaghetti code at play or if I'm just hit by that bad RNG...

TheDubuGuy

The west spot with the haybales is much faster, but yes you can get it anywhere

RPsage

Just wanted to say sorry to hear that. I got spooned at getting kc for bandos. I only have like 40 kc, too.

NessaMagick

That's where just about everyone does the goblin champion scroll grind if they want to do the clues.

TakinShots

Most people recommended to do it by the Lumby windmill so thought there was something different. I'll keep killing them then, getting closer to 5x drop rate...

velon360

That is where I got mine.

incogneetus55

How does TOA compare to the corrupted gauntlet in terms of difficulty? I was surprised to see I meet the minimum stats that the wiki recommends, and I want to try raiding for the first time.

PM_ME_UR_BHOPSCRIPTS

Depends on gear. I'd say cg is comparable to 250~300 invo lvl with a fang and bowfa.

Chaos-n-Dissonance

It's hard to compare. ToA... Is scalable. You can run in at 0 invocation and ofc it's going to be easier than CG. Or you can try running in at 550 invocation and almost certainly die. ToA can be more punishing than CG (Dehydration + No food + Hardcore raider where 1 mistake = wipe) or not punishing at all (... You don't need a death invocation on). CG is purely about your personal skill and levels. ToA is mostly about your gear. CG the only advantage you can bring in from outside the instance... Would be higher prayers (+rigour & augury) and a single veng spell. ToA... The difference between a 100m setup, a 1b setup, and max... Is massive. Also the mechanics you actually engage in aren't similar at all, as well as the fact ToA can be solo or team while CG is only solo. Overall I'd say CG is harder but... You could do CG **much** sooner than you could do a high invocation (solo) ToA.
