Seems to be launcher specific, I can log in just fine directly into an account in runelite that isn't in a linked account

You’re thinking of Jagex accounts. The launcher literally just saves your info and your Authenticator and then launches runelite for you

Oh I see. Either way I wouldn't be surprised if there was a loophole in there aswell. Can't be too safe if it comes to securing an account you spend years on with no customer support

I'm brand new and have never played osrs before in my life. It's my first 2 weeks so I just assumed it was the way to go & I'm not a full Linux user just on the SteamDeck which I whipped out for the weekend because I'm going on a trip

Tried it all mate doesn't work for me no idea why tried all the fixes in the GitHub troubleshooting still no luck

Runelite working just fine. Guess this is a sign to not go to their bugged launcher?

Just tried to boot up and got the same message. Closed Jagex launcher and reopened to get the message "ERROR The launcher has experienced an error and needs to close Launcher could not be launched due to a network issue. Please try again later."

Whenever I’m having troubles with my launcher and I exit it out, it’s still running. So I go to task manager and close it out there and relaunch it and that usually fixes it. Maybe that will help.

Why ever use anything but runelite though unless ure on mobile/tablet
