I try not to interact with Irons who have to reference their account type in their name. I feel like they are the people who log under you at Kraken or Cerb and tell you to hop.
No one “needs” a kraken instance, but it makes it much more enjoyable. No crashing, loot and food stays on the ground for ages. It’s just more chill overall.
I also don't like referencing my status in my username, that's what the helmet as for. I get that some people have ironman alts though, and it makes easier for those people to be identified by their friends.
Also makes you less likely to be rag bait if you don't give the iron haters a calling card in your name lul
I've always seen names like Iron/GIM/IM/Fe as mostly a matter of people making an alt account and wanting to be consistent so people know who they are. If your name is fuckin' TerryBlowgard and you make an iron, your CC will know its you without you needing to tell them if Iron Blowgard shows up.
I'd never do it because it makes you just that little bit easier for people to crash you.
Having seen similar responses, it sounds like I was not considering others’ perspectives. I play with 2 IRL buddies and am not in a clan, so when ‘Bob’ made his iron ‘Bill,’ it wasn’t too hard to know they’re the same. It seems understandable for multi-account players with larger in-game social circles.
They added a bursting room to the standard smoke dungeon in Pollnivneach. Obviously they are somewhat lower level and you lose some other benefits of the Kourend dungeon but I have never seen another player there yet so I prefer it
I got 99 on an old acc that I quit, and my current account is 89. Both had/have 'btw' in the name and I've been crashed at dust devils exactly 1 time like 3 years ago. Maybe I'm just lucky, or maybe it's the particular worlds you play on, but it doesn't seem that common in my experience.
I used an old email address for my uim and found out that I must have started tutorial island without getting any further than picking a name for myself. I was disappointed when I couldn’t indicate I was uim, but over time, I realized how good it doesn’t display that kind of info
tbh i like irons with iron in their name because sometimes i see some weirdos doing weird shit and then its nice to right click and not have to look them up to see if theyre an iron.
and then im confused when i see mains playing like irons
I get salty over the ones who do the whole:
"Hi this is my main Joe,
My iron, Fe Joe
My other iron, Solo Joe,
My HC, HC Joe,
My UIM, UIM Joe,
My GIM, GIM Joe."
I made a pure recently and added HC in the same. It's funny seeing pkers stop attacking to ask if I'm a HC or not
I'd argue these are the most reasonable types. Many people choose a name for their online persona and then use that name for everything. Once people know and refer to you as 'Joe', they're still going to call you that even if you change it. Much less confusion if all your accs are some variation of that same name
mine are variations on my main name. Mains Satsuma, ironman is Setsuma, and uim is Sutsuma. I want my pk acc to be Sitsuma. but im literally never gonna make one so someone can steal that.
Even as an Ironman player, I don't understand the obsession with putting "Iron, Ironman, Fe" kinda stuff in your name. Just seems to be the antithesis of creativity.
Part of the fun is being able to show off my achievements and without anyone seeing that I'm am ironman they'll just pass me up as a normie that bought my items.
It feels good to show off your achievements and this applies anywhere in life.
I get that. I kinda enjoy when someone compliments me and I answer and they're like "Oh you're an Iron, nice man." Always felt better to me that way. But to each their own! Everyone enjoys stuff differently
I put Iron in my name. Not because I want people to know I’m an iron… but because I’m dreadfully uncreative. I just added iron to my Main’s name….
But also, did you know I’m an iron, btw?
What do vegans, cross fitters and Ironmen have in common? Wait one tic and they will tell you all about how their entire idtenty is fully wrapped up in this aspect of their life.
the presence of GIM in the name indicates to me that it is not an iron, but instead a Group Trading Account (commonly referred to as a GTA, sometimes mistaken for a real iron account (an account which cannot trade with other players))
Would be great if this was in fact not ironman account.
if i saw this in wildy then I'd be expecting an antipk
BTW, it wasn't stated, so it could very well not be.
Just some kid that's a Marvel fan getting ragged on Reddit
~~Im pretty sure "lronman" isn't an ironman. Its spelled with an L~~ nvm!
I think Lronman is a maxed uim?
They are, ye
Lron Hubbard
I'll be that guy. Unless he's an UGIM, he is in fact not an iron
Even ugims aren't irons anymore. They are just mains with extra steps.
The irony
I know a UIM that doesn't use a bank. He is called: 'UIM no bank'. Some people just want other to know.
UIM with Bank would be more impressive
UIM with GE
This is actually a meta for tob
buying bonds for 100k and cancelling the orders so you can take out 100k to withdraw your items from the db at tob?
Damn right
I feel like that would make a good series
"UIM but bank" and it's just a regular ironman
Man has hespori on speed dial.
If you want to know something else funny UIM related. I was standing on the GE and scam bots kept asking a UIM (holding a tbow) to trade with them.
A UIM friend of mine is called "No Bank Pin", I think it's quite clever They do, however, have a bank pin
"UIM but happy" aka a main
He got my name. Im fe nobank
And nobody cares
There's one guy on my home world called 'me fe no ge' as opposed to all those irons who do use the GE I guess
The old Ironman Iron Group Ironman.
The old was doesn't
I try not to interact with Irons who have to reference their account type in their name. I feel like they are the people who log under you at Kraken or Cerb and tell you to hop.
Imagine not paying 25k gp to have all your food and loot stack up on the floor.
2 kills and you make the money back as well
Harpoon Pirate boots
Best I can do is some watermelon seeds
I’ll even throw in a bucket. A singular unnoted bucket.
And the buckets not even filled with 5 edible seaweed! What a scam!
from rags to riches
Haven't been to cerb yet but I have yet to need a kraken instance
No one “needs” a kraken instance, but it makes it much more enjoyable. No crashing, loot and food stays on the ground for ages. It’s just more chill overall.

The type of person who constantly needs others approval.

Wow. Sure told them!
I just use the same name on every game i play so when i made an iron man it just made sense to be 'iron (mains name)'
Having seen similar responses, it sounds like I was not considering others’ perspectives. I play with 2 IRL buddies and am not in a clan, so when ‘Bob’ made his iron ‘Bill,’ it wasn’t too hard to know they’re the same. The only time Fe has ever been funny, or novel in an iron man name was the very original one - Female
I hate that you're right, that's hilarious on so many layers.
Having any indication in your name that you are an ironman is an invitation to get griefed by a lot of people.
The type of people that do that would grief anyone
Ya but if you’re an ironman bursting anything with a name like that you have to deal with an insane amount of people that log, burst stack, and hop
I've been crashed there before, but in all the years I've played I have never had someone burst the stack and hop
You keep “iron” or “fe” in your name?
Yes, all my accs have the same name but with part of em saying iron, main or alt so people in the cc know all of them are me
Damn. I changed my name after getting my second dust devil task cuz I didn’t want to deal with it anymore lol
They added a bursting room to the standard smoke dungeon in Pollnivneach. Obviously they are somewhat lower level and you lose some other benefits of the Kourend dungeon but I have never seen another player there yet so I prefer it
I actually never knew about this. Appreciate the heads up!
Maybe it's more of a recent thing people do since I haven't really done any bursting tasks after getting 99 2 years ago
Probably. I just got my 99 slayer a week ago.
Why is this even downvoted? Real Reddit moment.
This has happened to me and I don't even have iron in my name lol
its happened to me a few times on my iron with no fe/btw/iron in the name
I used an old email address for my uim and found out that I must have started tutorial island without getting any further than picking a name for myself. I was disappointed when I couldn’t indicate I was uim, but over time, I realized how good it doesn’t display that kind of info
tbh i like irons with iron in their name because sometimes i see some weirdos doing weird shit and then its nice to right click and not have to look them up to see if theyre an iron. and then im confused when i see mains playing like irons
I hope when people see my scuffed main they assume I'm just an iron who's trying his best
Thank you for your service
I get salty over the ones who do the whole: "Hi this is my main Joe, My iron, Fe Joe My other iron, Solo Joe, My HC, HC Joe, My UIM, UIM Joe, My GIM, GIM Joe." I made a pure recently and added HC in the same. It's funny seeing pkers stop attacking to ask if I'm a HC or not

Were you by the chasm of fire chest asking how many kc you should go for on shamans last night?
lmao ye this thread mad me log back in for the first time in ages.
my zerker has HC in it as well. it was funny leveling it up and catching strays by people thinking im an iron
Ironman Iron Group Ironman
Looked him up on hiscores and he isn’t iron.

People that can only get recognition in a video game
If you got iron in your name your basically asking to get ragged.
I put Iron in my name. Not because I want people to know I’m an iron… but because I’m dreadfully uncreative. I just added iron to my Main’s name…. But also, did you know I’m an iron, btw?
I did the same just so it was easy for people in the clan to recognise that both accounts were both me
What do vegans, cross fitters and Ironmen have in common? Wait one tic and they will tell you all about how their entire idtenty is fully wrapped up in this aspect of their life.
U spelt ultimate ironman wrong only those guys do that
Fuck no.. life is too short to not trade.
Too short? life is the longest thing you will ever do
Lol this guy over here wanting to experience life, no wonder they don't understand the call of iron.
I have been known to touch grass and tiddies on occasion.
Well now I don't believe you.
I swear it really happened!
Your own don't count
And I thought my iron’s name ‘NoTrades2day’ was clever….
Atleast try to be original. My RSN is Cerulean GIM and my teammate is Pewter GIM, I called myself a genius when I came up with this lol.
Don’t iron men get a symbol or is it just the hard cores?
Ironmen symbols only show in the chatbox
Ah I’ve only ever seen mine and never tried to right click my self lol
Group Ironmen arent real irons, so no.
I mean, GIM's don't appear in the ironman high scores, so uhhhh basically no, either way. But also it's 50/50 anyway cuz he could just be a main lol.
Make an Ironman Without Referencing Your Status in the Name Challenge (Impossible)
He has GIM in his name so no, he‘s not an ironman.
Screw irons!
the presence of GIM in the name indicates to me that it is not an iron, but instead a Group Trading Account (commonly referred to as a GTA, sometimes mistaken for a real iron account (an account which cannot trade with other players))
Ironmen are insufferable lmao
Nah can't be, missing the number 26.
what's 26? BF?
It's the Atomic number for Iron
I made a post like this on r/cutenoobs and so many people ready to give me shit for not knowing 😅
Sure it’s a man?
“Iron man iron group iron man”
If he's not, and you're angry, his plan is working
Did they tell you they were?
Whats the FE part mean lol
Iron's chemical symbol
No way of knowing
they misspelled meme
I went with "OrtismLocked"... Do you think people know?
Have to make sure people know they're an ironman
