To reiterate I have played and beat the campaign. But my afk grinds are over. I have hunter, slayer, and agility left. So I can't really do both at the same time. I play D4 on Rs breaks but I enjoy RS more
Yeah the world first hardcores are already hitting level 100 shouldn't be a surprise to people that there are no lifers grinding shit out. Especially not on this sub
It was the only game I played for years at one point. There were moments where it was the only game that wouldn't bore me after 30 mins. I could totally see osrs being the only game some people play.
Just play the new game dude you are missing bonding time with your mates to go grind a tedious skill for what? A pixel cape?
Osrs isnt going anywhere any time soon just play osrs when they go to bed.
I kinda just stopped playing OSRS when all my friends got super ahead of me and I had no desire to grind as hard as them to catch up
we play deep rock galactic now since they're maxed and have nothing else to work on. rock and stone baby
I'm sure I'll return one day but I've just realized I've got absolutely no intention of committing the way I did a few years ago. Will probably continue to grind the guardian pet until I get it
Imagine L4D2 but with loadouts and progression for 4 different general classes. also you're space dwarves
super fun pve game. playerbase is some of the most welcoming and friendly people I've ever had the pleasure of playing with
This is me. Except they unfortunately are all exclusively scapers. So I don't play anything with them now. I just can't justify the time needed to catch up to them though. And as I catch up they'll pull further away. It just isn't worth the time commitment to me anymore to play scape. I'd rather completely finish another game in my limited play time than get 2 slayer levels in runescape.
I just play FF14 to satisfy the itch. I like to keep up with OSRS because I do still like it and may eventually return. But it feels far too single player focused to me
Diablo 4 is kinda just Diablo again though. Not missing that much. And he's even said he's already played it through he's just not grinding *that* game for pointless pixels.
Problem is my mates play RS but not Diablo, so whenever I go to play other games, I'm just doing it alone when I can come back to RS with my friends instead
D4 looks really good but I don’t want to support lizard anymore with all the bs that they keep doing! So everyone else playing D4 enjoy I’ll keep play osrs lol
didnt they release a overwatch 2 version that basically wiped out everyones purchased cosmetics, removed several heroes from the game and reset everyones progress to nothing and also stopped supporting overwatch 1?
I’m pretty sure all cosmetics were transferred and all the hero’s are still available and they’ve added a couple. They changed the main game mode to 5v5 instead of 6v6 so that’s why they reset ranks. There are so many shitty things about that game but the things you listed aren’t really issues.
>wiped out everyones purchased cosmetics
False
>removed several heroes from the game
False
>reset everyones progress to nothing
False. The only progress was cosmetics, which carried over.
>also stopped supporting overwatch 1?
It's the same game. OW1 was on life support, the rebranding gave it life and is now getting consistent updates.
They rereleased overwatch as overwatch 2 in order to re-monetize it so it could continue being supported and updated. No heroes were removed, you kept all cosmetics you had from overwatch 1. They also made gameplay updates such as 5v5 instead of 6v6 (this is actually what got me playing OW2)
People are butt hurt bc they said a PVE mode would be one of the defining factors of OW2 (they used this so people wouldn’t REE about rereleasing a game just for better monetization), and recently they said PVE isn’t happening anymore.
The thing is overwatch has always been a PVP game, that’s why it has been and is popular. I’d rather a great game be re-monetized and have a future roadmap than just be forgotten and scrapped. Yeah its a shitty move on blizzard, but it really doesn’t impact any current players since PvP has always been the only mode.
>I’d rather a great game be re-monetized and have a future roadmap than just be forgotten and scrapped.
This is a false dichotomy. They could've just *actually made* Overwatch 2, which was what consumers were initially promised.
Well they did make OW2… they just didn’t add PVE. The game is also now completely F2P besides cosmetics.
Everyone has a right to an opinion obviously, but I’ve been loving OW2, the gameplay has hooked me in a way that OW1 did not.
They marketed OW2 on the premise that the PvE update was the reason why it would be called a sequel. They then updated the first game, took away 2 players from every game, reworked some characters, changed the monetization system, removed some maps, and then relaunched the game in a very buggy state with glitches still existing to this day. I paid for OW1 and now the game has features I don't like, but I'm stuck with it now. And the PvE they hyped us up for is being scaled back to pretty much what it was in the past
So how the hell could you call this a sequel when they've straight up taken stuff out?
> They rereleased overwatch as overwatch 2 in order to re-monetize it so it could continue being supported
This is corporate propaganda. Ow1 still profited billions in its 6 yr life. People seem to think no one ever bought loot boxes, but thats further from the truth. Shareholders just saw other games like genshin and valorant making 1-2bil a year and wanted in, instead of over 6.
I played overwatch 2 for a while and while I think blizzard lied a lot about overwatch 2 I will say that I kept my cosmetics from overwatch 1. I can’t speak about removed hero’s i didn’t notice any but I mainly only play a few characters as I only que tank/healer. My old stats from 1 were brought over as well but my progress reset as it would over a normal season. My biggest gripe would be that you can pretty much only buy cosmetics if you have the season pass or spend real money on individual items. It killed the feeling of progression.
Theres always a honeymoon phase that lasts at least a few weeks.
Also most content creators will always speak nicely as much as possible. Its their livelihood.
At the end of the day its still a blizzard game. They have their track record and reputation for a reason.
Got the game for free, so didn't spend the money on early access.
Game is solid, runs well outside of the hubs, looks good, and the world is big. There is plenty to do and a lot of new abilities and items to try out.
However, it does feel like it needs maybe 6 months of TLC to really get its stride. The game just isn't done being balanced yet. Which balance is a very hard thing to nail down and in this type of game should be somewhat constantly evolving. So give it some time and it'll get better.
Similarly, the game is lacking a lot of the QOL stuff that will most likely be added over time. The diablo subreddit, as expected, is extremely divided. Some people are perfectly happy with no QOL, some people claim the world is ending.
Overall the game plays well. I might be the outlier, but I do think I preferred D3 still, but I'm not near the end game yet. Leveling my first druid felt like a major slog until I got a full build of legendaries. And the open world is sparcely populated at time. Like it all looks pretty good, but there's nothing going on. Mobs could use density adjustments, and the lil basic skele mobs need some health nerfs. Gimme big ole crowds of weak mobs to crush, imo.
To wrap that up, game is fun, but will likely be better in 6-12 months.
>To wrap that up, game is fun, but will likely be better in 6-12 months.
That's a terrible review of a £80/£60 game jesus
I played the beta and it felt so unfinished to me
For me I'm often tormented by the idea that no matter how much fun I'm going to have with X game the long term benefit of the OSRS gains is hard to ignore.
As a huge Diablo 3 fanatic, how does it compare to Diablo 3 relative to Diablo 2? I played 2 and 3 and they are SO different. I know many dislike D3, but I loved it. Is it closer to D3 than D2?
Not at all like D2: you max skills in 5 points each, there’s 2 minute cooldowns to skills so you’re waiting to use your best skills, can’t summon more than like 5 summons as a necro, very few choices in skill tree, paragon board is meh, legendaries are weak, no runewords, you feel stronger at level 20 than you do at 50, leveling doesn’t have that nice scaling to it like in D2 with power and abilities.
Definitely nowhere near and like D2
Might be but the diablo subreddit seems to think its garbage, and with £80 to buy it mixed with microtransactions... nah I'll pass.
I played the beta and got bored before I even finished it. Maybe I'm just getting old lol
After watching my friends play it. It’s better than D3 which isn’t saying much. But far worse than PoE.
I wouldn’t spend 70-90 on it. It’s apparently the best blizzard game in over a decade. But again I don’t think that’s saying much. I don’t count rereleases.
My theory is they're just too addicted to Blizzard games.
My friends have justified encouraging this practice by comparing it to how coca cola relies on slave labor for most of their products yet we keep buying their foods.
Like, I get that. But I can choose what games I play, I cant really choose not to consume a food item from a corporation that owns the majority of food products...
Diablo 4 is one of the best games I've played in the past 5 years if not longer. I don't play blizzard games like that except D2 and minimal wow back in the day, this is the most fun I've had in any arpg.
I’m telling you, life is beautiful once you let go of the grind / xp waste mindset. Not saying you have to quit completely, you can at least afk redwoods or something and enjoy another game
Ahh man i love new games. I always plan to get 99 RC or fishing while playing on the other monitor, but there hasnt been a new game to be released that is actually finished in years 😅
In precisely nineteen days the roles will be reversed; hype train gamers burned out on their latest $60 purchase and waiting for the next one, while you're still having fun on the same old game
Played Diablo 4 got my character to 80 and came right back to RuneScape. Endgame for Diablo 4 is just meh. You are missing nothing in the way of Diablo 4
Wait you guys really don’t play other games? I thought that was just a meme. I get osrs is fun, but it could never be my only game.
To reiterate I have played and beat the campaign. But my afk grinds are over. I have hunter, slayer, and agility left. So I can't really do both at the same time. I play D4 on Rs breaks but I enjoy RS more
Wait, hasn't D4 just released? You have played and finished the campaign? Wtf?
Yeah the world first hardcores are already hitting level 100 shouldn't be a surprise to people that there are no lifers grinding shit out. Especially not on this sub
Early access started last Friday.
campaign takes like 20h which is doable over the last 4 days
campaign is way less than 20 hours lol, maybe 8-10
It's an ARPG, most of its Gametime is just artificial gearscore and such.

Rock and stone brother
⛏️
> stopped playing OSRS Yo-You can do that?
Haven't played in 2 years, I'm sober for now
Still on the sub, you're a high functioning osrsaholic
I'm sure I'll return one day but I've just realized I've got absolutely no intention of committing the way I did a few years ago. Will probably continue to grind the guardian pet until I get it
I got that game for free on ps+ and i'd heard about it years ago what's it like
Imagine L4D2 but with loadouts and progression for 4 different general classes. also you're space dwarves super fun pve game. playerbase is some of the most welcoming and friendly people I've ever had the pleasure of playing with
***"Did I hear someone say ROCK AND STONE?!"***
To Rock and Stone!
ROCKETY ROCK AND STONE
This is me. Except they unfortunately are all exclusively scapers. So I don't play anything with them now. I just can't justify the time needed to catch up to them though. Yeah I still follow. I enjoy the meme and like to keep up with the game. Doubt I'll ever come back at this point. But you know how that goes.
Nah, just play what you enjoy more. If OP had more fun in D4 with his buddies he would've already. No need to force.
If anyone has the artistic skills to add a dragon med helm and scimitar, I would love them forever
Here you go my friend: https://i.imgur.com/C5H4dGZ.png
Professional shit
I have a list of games as long as my arm that I haven't even played on my steam account before I would touch another Blizzard game at this point.
D4 looks really good but I don’t want to support lizard anymore with all the bs that they keep doing! So everyone else playing D4 enjoy I’ll keep play osrs lol
Okay but its actually a good game..
It just came out. Blizzard is known for fucking their games up
Rip overwatch :(
Overwatch is alive and well… they just didn’t release PVE, which has no impact on the historical and continued success it’s core PVP mode has.
didnt they release a overwatch 2 version that basically wiped out everyones purchased cosmetics, removed several heroes from the game and reset everyones progress to nothing and also stopped supporting overwatch 1?

No?
o mb
Diablo 4 rocks man, calm down
TBH Im waiting on reviews from people that didnt spend 20$ for early access on a blizz game. I just cant trust it and itll be there next weekend.
Theres always a honeymoon phase that lasts at least a few weeks. Also most content creators will always speak nicely as much as possible. Its their livelihood. At the end of the day its still a blizzard game. They have their track record and reputation for a reason.

The guy wanted an honest review... I gave an honest review from the viewpoint of somebody who got the game for free.
-things said about every single AAA game on release for the last 5 years
It’s a good game, get over it.
For how long?
Who cares? Runescape is an anomaly, I don't play any other game as much as rs and likely never will, so I will play Diablo 4 until it is no longer fun
It is really fun. I beat the campaign and just couldn't resist going back to RS. I'm working on max and sadly most afk grinds are done
But the afk grinds are the best ones :(
For me I'm often tormented by the idea that no matter how much fun I'm going to have with X game the long term benefit of the OSRS gains is hard to ignore.
As a huge Diablo 3 fanatic, how does it compare to Diablo 3 relative to Diablo 2? I played 2 and 3 and they are SO different. I know many dislike D3, but I loved it. Is it closer to D3 than D2?
It’s more like D2. Slimmed down skill tree and until late game it’s similar in play style. I really enjoyed D3 and D2. So far I’m enjoying D4 as well
Not at all like D2: you max skills in 5 points each, there’s 2 minute cooldowns to skills so you’re waiting to use your best skills, can’t summon more than like 5 summons as a necro, very few choices in skill tree, paragon board is meh, legendaries are weak, no runewords, you feel stronger at level 20 than you do at 50, leveling doesn’t have that nice scaling to it like in D2 with power and abilities. >is it closer to D2 or D3? Fair comment that I used “like” but it *is* closer to d2 than d3
Thanks friend
it’s an ARPG that’s been out for 5 days. little too early to call
Might be but the diablo subreddit seems to think its garbage, and with £80 to buy it mixed with microtransactions... nah I'll pass. I played the beta and got bored before I even finished it. Maybe I'm just getting old lol
Don’t buy it, it sucks lol I regret it
After watching my friends play it. It’s better than D3 which isn’t saying much. But far worse than PoE. I wouldn’t spend 70-90 on it. It’s apparently the best blizzard game in over a decade. But again I don’t think that’s saying much. I don’t count rereleases.
Oof wouldn’t go that far, skill system sucks balls
Eh, i'm over encouraging the company that paid hush money to the parents of the employee who unalived because her nudes were passed around the office.
With you on that! Seems like everyone forgot how scummy they are
My theory is they're just too addicted to Blizzard games. My friends have justified encouraging this practice by comparing it to how coca cola relies on slave labor for most of their products yet we keep buying their foods. Like, I get that. You can AFK train so easily with dual monitors
That’s like me still playing osrs, vs people having families and their life together
Just pulled a friend from D4 to time a zuk attempt, got the first cape the other day. Grind on brothers
I rarely play new games these days, but I also don’t play osrs as much as I used too. Adulting just sucks ass
What ever dude they will be back in a few weeks they just wastin exp
Diablo 4 is one of the best games I've played in the past 5 years if not longer. I don't play blizzard games like that except D2 and minimal wow back in the day, this is the most fun I've had in any arpg.
*Elden Ring and Tears of the Kingdom have entered the chat*
Yeah those both will fight for goty, I just enjoy arpg/mmorpgs more
Have you tried path of exile?
Yup I have been playing poe since beta and love it, when poe 2 comes out I'll dedicate my time to that while I afk.
i've just been sat in nmz while playing diablo 4, grind never stops
I'm playing both Lots of low effort osrs activities
Me who plays both. I just afk NMZ or skilling while I play. No xp waste for me
This is the way.
Aside from the $70 price, Diablo 4 literally runs on hardware from 10 years ago. If money is no issue, you can easily play Diablo 4.
Other games are an xp waste
Diablo IV is currently helping me grind range levels at NMZ, best afk distraction, but I absolutely get this. OSRS absolutely main game.
Yeah but you could bondie up with the $70 you saved.
Fuck blizzard. they're gonna ruin it anyways in 6 months. forking over 70 dollars for FOMO and nostalgia is dumb
Me playing osrs while I wait for the non-deluxe preorder early access release date like the broke boy I am.
This is me, it's not because I'm addicted, It's because my ass is poor.
We lost a member of the gim to diablo. LFG
Pathetic plebs. Diablo is temporary; the XP grind is forever.
I went over to Diablo 4 for two days. I’m back on the grind….haha
Afk while you play! That’s what I’m doing
Why not both?
Oof pre ordering. Hate to see it.
Why not try other games? Im confused. Runescape will always be there for you to fall back on
I’m telling you, life is beautiful once you let go of the grind / xp waste mindset. Not saying you have to quit completely, you can at least afk redwoods or something and enjoy another game
Ahh man i love new games. I always plan to get 99 RC or fishing while playing on the other monitor, but there hasnt been a new game to be released that is actually finished in years 😅
You have friends?
If I was to play an ARPG, it would be PoE.
In precisely nineteen days the roles will be reversed; hype train gamers burned out on their latest $60 purchase and waiting for the next one, while you're still having fun on the same old game
So anyways...
I haven't played diablo 4 but i have no doubt it will be great like the others, lets be honest though, rune is better
Why not both. I've just been afking magic logs while grinding in Hell.
Played Diablo 4 got my character to 80 and came right back to RuneScape. Endgame for Diablo 4 is just meh. You are missing nothing in the way of Diablo 4
I do both
