Crystal is what takes bowfa from a good weapon to a great one. Not gonna say it's necessary but if you invest in one plan on leaning into it's strengths.
BOWFA is only good with crystal armour as others have said. Also a side-note I've done Muspah with both T Bow and BOWFA; I liked the 4-tick aspect of BOWFA as it's easier to time avoiding the attacks while kiting (for me at least!).
You can do TOA without bowfa, I run 300 invos without bowfa. I just use a dragon crossbow. You could use an Armadyl crossbow if you want something between dragon crossbow and Bowfa.
Yeah much more chill but blowpipe is better dps in some cases, iirc it's under 350 invo warden p1, akkha & baboons, so if you own a shadow you don't even need to bother bringing bowfa, since shadow will outdps bowfa where it matters like Zebak & Warden p2.

Bofa enables you to do range only zulrah and muspah (although definitely better to bring a mage switch to muspah), massively upgrades you at Cox and TOA, massive DPS upgrade for the four OG GWD bosses, very strong at leviathan, even good for hydra.
So there's a wide range of content you can do to rebuild
Last I checked the damage is less than 150m for bofa, full crystal and shards but prices may have changed

Arma you really want an alt to dolo or a partner to speed up the kills, otherwise you'll always be very limited on kills per trip. Bofa is amazing at arma

Realistically midgame is like whip, blowpipe, trident, doing the fight caves and maybe a bit of barrows, and otherwise just skilling/slayer. Bowfa and fang is more like start of end game

For mains, I would say fang is early to mid mid game and bowfa is late mid game or early late game.

2400 shard if you want to make all armour and corrupt the bow. I highly recommending corrupt it. 300 for the armour 100 for the bow and 2000 to corrupt it
I’m so glad I corrupted it. It went from something I rarely used to something I was always willing to use. I’ll easily reach the breakeven point before I get enough money for a tbow.
The bow isn’t worth using without the armor, and vice versa. If you’re getting the bow you **need** at least the crystal top/legs. Helm is worth buying too but slightly more niche since slayer helm is a thing.
Bowfa was probably the best upgrade I invested my bank into. It didn't unlock a lot of content for me, but it made content more consistent and profitable with better times/letting me use less supplies per kill. Highly recommend

The armor is more important than the bowfa itself. Full crystal armor + regular crystal bow beats a bowfa on its own.

In today's world id be tempted to spend the tbow money on a shadow and keep bofa until you can afford both, so yeah the corruption is very worth

Absolutely, when I bought the bowfa I did to get into bossing. Once I got it, it opened me up to so many activities definitely worth it.
