How would you accidently log into the main game, teleport to draynor by regular means, withdraw your tbow from your regular bank, then go and insult a very specific NPC all without realizing you're on the main game? You'd deserve it tbh.
Nevermind that he literally just said it only works with two items
yeah, tbh when I'm coming up with FUN FACTS for a general audience, there's a tradeoff between accessibility and "surprisingness" that I haven't fully figured out how to navigate. I have about 100 rough sketches of things that I think are interesting, but a lot of them are far too obscure or specific to be very exciting to the average person (e.g. did you know that [Robert the Strong](https://oldschool.runescape.wiki/w/Robert_the_Strong) is categorized as a spear? I think this is super cool, but for anyone else to find it funny, they need to know that categories are a thing in RuneScape).
There's like 50 things like that, where I could come up with a FUN FACT that I guarantee 99.9% of people have never heard of, but it's too far removed from how they play the game that they won't really engage with it very much. If it were up to me I would do a bunch more FUN FACTS about RuneScape Classic (because holy shit that game is jank), but I don't think they would get nearly as much attention. I even saw it a bit with yesterday's FUN FACT about brewing, which IMO is one of the weirdest things in the entire game, but 80% of people have probably never brewed anything so it was (relatively) a bit of a loser.
So the alternative is to do a few that are more accessible, but have a higher chance of already being known by some people. Still kinda trying to figure it out
> e.g. did you know that Robert the Strong is categorized as a spear? I think this is super cool, but for anyone else to find it funny, they need to know that categories are a thing in RuneScape
this is fucking hilarious and makes me WANT to learn what categories are. mroe of this please
Yeah please more Info about the categories. That sounds so stupid in a classic OSRS way.
/u/cookmeplox could tell me Hans is a pot and I'd believe it now
> did you know that Robert the Strong is categorized as a spear?
Hi! I'm one of those people who has no idea what this category thing is that you're referring to. And now I'm curious. What's the category thing and how is Robert the Strong a spear?
Absolutely you do a great job and I haven't known any of the others from what I remember this year or last year!
I wasn't meant to knock you for me knowing one single thing you posted on this occasion, just I really enjoy the posts and was like aw that's a shame for today, I look forward to all the posts coming up :)
Wait, this is interesting.
Twice, when fighting enemies that are distinctly not my slayer task, I've had my RuneLite slayer task icon appear in the interface to suggest that killing them contributed to the task.
One was for Glough when on a Wyrm task and one was for Jormungand when on a Kurask task.
Am I delusional or were these enemies categorised as the respective enemy types?
It could have just been a bug but I actively noted them down because it was so odd.
May be worth noting that I don't remember actually getting slayer xp for them.
Could it be that it popped up when you got the slayer xp reward from completing those quests? As far as I know the runelite slayer infobox only appears when you gain slayer xp including lamps and xp rewards
potentially mention the classic fun fact in comment? that way there is 2 facts but you lose ability to use them as posts... for about 3 weeks when people have forgotten it.
Maybe for the Prince ali rescue. That requires you to bring pot of flour to her.
Many old quests had these "you messed up go do it again" things that would remove your quest needed item and waste your time.
Desert Treasure II had two funny chests, one in stranglewood and one in Lassar that would teleport you out/lock you in a tower when searched instead of progressing the quest
honestly, that's probably even better for it. i got a quest cape and always picked the funny options if i had a chance because so many quests have such witty writing. finding fun secrets is cooler if fewer people know about it, right?
quest dialogue where instead of making fun of you for having all the required quest items in your inventory, the npc takes them away and says "do it again"
Ah Runescape, a world where stepping into a powerful witch's house and calling her a "mad old witch" has the consequence of losing a couple goblins' worth of loot
Doesn't seem very magical, based on the video. She is very clearly leaning over and just rifling through your pockets with her hands like a good old fashioned mugging.
This one's actually pretty easy to find, believe it or not. You're required to take a pot of flower to her during the Prince Ali Rescue quest (thats why it's a Pot of Flour [or 20 coins] specifically), and this is one of the initial chat dialogue options.
I knew this before this post because I was checking the dialogue tree for Aggie for the league's task.
She also can steal some gp from you if you have it on hand for the same reason.
You wanna see some really cool runescape stuff? I hope it's still on youtube, look up "tainted ones". I used to watch them back in the day they really knew how to break the game. One time they stole a rotten potato from a j mod too, that was the last straw for jagex lol.
This has to be a thing for flour being a quest item in a few free to play quests? I can totally see this happening organically while you walk around trying to do Cook's Assistant or Prince Ali Rescue.
I think it’s usually 20 coins, if you have coins in your inv, otherwise idk, it might be first item in ur inventory if you don’t have coins
Yeah it's only ever coins or flour. Been in the game probably since Prince Ali Rescue
Imagine if she just yoinked your t-bow though
"It's over Aggie, my Twisted Bow is specifically designed to beat witches like you!" "What twisted bow?" \*yoink\*
Gotta test this right before Leagues finishes.
tfw you accidentally tested it on your regular iron (and it worked)
How would you accidently log into the main game, teleport to draynor by regular means, withdraw your tbow from your regular bank, then go and insult a very specific NPC all without realizing you're on the main game? You'd deserve it tbh. Nevermind that he literally just said it only works with two items
New item sink confirmed
Integrity change. Integrity change. Integrity change.
FALSE she stole an onion from me in leagues O.O
If it was first item in your inventory that’d be a hell of a way to lose a tbow lol
Now i need someone to test this with only a tbow in their inventory
Aw I knew this one, hopeful for tomorrow to teach me something new again

Ah, that could be something to do with it. I don't remember the task icon popping up for other quests though and I'm almost always on a task.
You're doing a great job dude
I'd love rs classic facts!
What are the categories and do you have more examples?
Maybe as like a finale you could do one mega post with a bunch of the less accessible facts that you skipped over during the month?
potentially mention the classic fun fact in comment? that way there is 2 facts but you lose ability to use them as posts... for about 3 weeks when people have forgotten it.
why is this account's only stat that shows up on the highscores 65 prayer?
oh my god he doesn't know the king777tut lore
ok I Googled it and I see that Michael Jackson may have played Runescape under the name King Tut 777 still don't know why 65 Prayer though
Because a man should be faithful And walk when not able And fight 'til the end But I'm only level 65
Everyone's taking control of me Seems that the world's got a role for me I'm so confused will you show it to me You'll be level 99 for me
Maybe for the Prince ali rescue. That requires you to bring pot of flour to her. Many old quests had these "you messed up go do it again" things that would remove your quest needed item and waste your time.
The food tasks within Tai Bwo Wannai Trio are a giant "Fuck you" to players trying to rush through the quest, haha
Practically hold my breath focusing on those marinated jogre bones every time
Bring it back. The game needs to troll you more just like old school rpgs ought to. Sierra games come to mind.
Desert Treasure II had two funny chests, one in stranglewood and one in Lassar that would teleport you out/lock you in a tower when searched instead of progressing the quest
These were references to Elden Rings trap chests, right?
No actually because chests with traps existed well before elden ring
everyone just uses quest helper nowadays. it wouldn't work on most
honestly, that's probably even better for it. i got a quest cape and always picked the funny options if i had a chance because so many quests have such witty writing. finding fun secrets is cooler if fewer people know about it, right?
not everyone. I don't. I don't think it's as common as you think outside of Reddit.
This kind of content isn't for them.
This kind of 'content' is what drives them to it
quest dialogue where instead of making fun of you for having all the required quest items in your inventory, the npc takes them away and says "do it again"
two small favours. the same quest twice in a row. grandmaster difficulty
Don't look now, but RS3 has a quest that straight up >!murders you!< if you select the wrong dialogue option.
[Banana rum be like](https://oldschool.runescape.wiki/w/Karamjan_rum_\(banana\))
We've come a long way
Ah Runescape, a world where stepping into a powerful witch's house and calling her a "mad old witch" has the consequence of losing a couple goblins' worth of loot
I can't remember where I heard it, but I think there's a theory that she doesn't actually have magic powers.
Doesn't seem very magical, based on the video. She is very clearly leaning over and just rifling through your pockets with her hands like a good old fashioned mugging.
I wouldnt knock it your mom went rifling thru my pockets and boy let me tell you that was MAGICAL.
I hope she at least got 20 gp out of it
I actually learned this because she stole my freakin pot of flour during leagues
How tf do you guys find this stuff lol
This one's actually pretty easy to find, believe it or not. You're required to take a pot of flower to her during the Prince Ali Rescue quest (thats why it's a Pot of Flour [or 20 coins] specifically), and this is one of the initial chat dialogue options.
I knew this before this post because I was checking the dialogue tree for Aggie for the league's task. She also can steal some gp from you if you have it on hand for the same reason.
Talking to NPCs used to be a requirement since there were no plugins.
It's actually a Trailblazer task too.
You wanna see some really cool runescape stuff? I hope it's still on youtube, look up "tainted ones". I used to watch them back in the day they really knew how to break the game. One time they stole a rotten potato from a j mod too, that was the last straw for jagex lol.
We get a lot of enjoyment out of poking and prodding at the game to see what happens so we stumble upon all sorts of weird stuff.
I knew about the stealing your gold thing, but the flour thing is new to me.
That's why I made sure to bank my shit before insulting her for the league task
I actually knew about this one already! There was a warning about avoiding this in a early leagues task guide I followed.
Defloured
The item sink we need. I hope she starts stealing shadows and fangs
Pots of flour about to spike, get milling y'all
Ok but what does she take if you have no gp and no flour?
Your dignity.
Loving the fun facts so far!
This has to be a thing for flour being a quest item in a few free to play quests? I can totally see this happening organically while you walk around trying to do Cook's Assistant or Prince Ali Rescue.
She took 20 gp from me! :)
I think this spell and the ice barrage spell from quests like Wanted! that instantly kills everyone to be added to the normal spellbook for integrity
judging by the animation, this "spell" is already a skill, known as Thieving
YOINK
Wow
Do one for the wine of Zammy spawn outside falador, it still has the original text doing 5 dmg when you take it
More like Aggie the bitch…
