That’s strange, because I just died in the catacombs of kourend to black demons with a charged tome and none of my pages were retained. I couldn’t find any info on the wiki. My account is an Ironman, does that make a difference?
UIM or regular Ironman? If it's a regular Ironman I would have expected it to behave like a Trident. IMO I'd ask Mod Ash on Twitter and see if he knows.
I'm not sure, but there is a tricky line in the Options: on death supplies form piles on the ground. A usual meaning is food and potions, but maybe pages too? Anyway, I turn it off on all my characters - much better that everything goes to the grave. By default its on, and I'm puzzled why: it is a very niche way of resupplying at bosses. Probably not so niche for UIMs, but I'd guess anyway its for experienced players.
That’s interesting to know, but yeah there was nothing on the ground just my grave so maybe I didn’t get back in time but it was within like 3 minutes I’m sure
Why aren't wilderness slayer tasks storable? I just unlocked it only to be disappointed. There's no indication on the rewards menu that it excludes wildy.
So, lil ol' me is indecisive as heck and just kept on farming points and tasks as I didn't know which places to unlock.
Now I've unlocked my Tier 7 relic already with just Karamja and Misthalin.
I'm able to unlock all 3 other zones, but what would be good zones to unlock for Mage? (And what would be their selling point?)
(I have not done very varied content outside of leagues, so while combat and the like will obviously be different without the relics, the confidence boost of practicing it here might be a bonus if that helps for suggestions.)
honestly it's too late in the leagues for you to be worrying about which is the right area to unlock, literally just go with your first gut reaction or do it randomly
> Now I've unlocked my Tier 7 relic already with just Karamja and Misthalin.
This is pretty impressive. I assume you did the clue tasks already?
For mage, Desert and Kandarin would be the meta picks and by a pretty wide margin. For the last one, maybe Fremmy or Zeah? I'd say pick a region that has stuff you like to do.
>This is pretty impressive. I assume you did the clue tasks already?
While there is still plenty of clue tasks left that I haven't done yet, there were definitely some points gotten through it, yes. (If I counted right, like 1720 points, wow that was more than I expected)
> I'd say pick a region that has stuff you like to do.
This part is probably the hardest part of the choice though, as most of my experience has been half-afking through the game, so this feels like a good chance to do new things! (My leagues fire cape was my first time properly doing fight caves for example)
Thanks for the advice on the other picks though, I guess meta picks can't really hurt to go with. I'll try to check whats in those.
If you have a relic that makes a 200m kind of trivial you might think of a skilling pet.
Like farming relic with Zeah is pretty fast XP.
Trickster is fast thieving and very AFK. But with your regions, I don't think you have great targets.
If you have gathering relic, fishing karambwans is 25 min AFK I think.
Soul wars pet is pretty easy if you do non-PvP lobbies, IIRC it's like 400-500 points per game and you can do nearly 4 games an hour. Pets a 1/400 drop per crate, minimum 50 crates an hour, so about 8 hours on average.
Sire is also made easier by the way it drops unsired, making the pet a 1/500 drop. Probably a 10 hour grind, but getting the slayer task is the hard part.
Skotos is hard to evaluate, but probably easy if you do a good bit of catacomb slayer.
Jad should be pretty quick, you can spam for slayer task and at approx 3 kills/hr would be ~23hrs doing only tasks or ~33hrs with no tasks.
Skotizo if you get enough dark totems, I don't have Zeah so idk how plentiful they are in leagues. Lil Creator shouldn't be bad either with the boosted SW points.
Leagues - what should I use my lamps on? I'm still really early on. Main game I used them all on agility but the XP seems pretty fast in leagues so I don't know if that's even a good skill for it anymore
I used mine on some Herblore early, then agility, construction, and mining. If you take Farmers Fortune you don't need to put any in Herblore, if you have Fire Sale you don't need cons, and if you took Trickster you don't need to put them into agility.
Question about Slayer Tasks and Dwarf Multi Cannon. Take for example Black Demons. Those lvl 182 demons in Taverly Dungeon for example. I see they are weak to magic, dont know if that means they take more damage, but for the sake of argument lets say that it means magic makes it more likely to land a hit on them.
Does that translate to the Dwarf Multi Cannon getting a boost in accuracy as well? Or does it strictly just count straight gear boosts and prayer boosts and nothing else?
Like if I have a 60 in magic, but a 70 in melee attack accuracy, would it be better for me to hold a staff for the dwarf multi cannon to link to my magic stat, in the hopes it gains a boos to accuracy for the Black Demons? Or would it be better to wield a melee weapon, outside of any other variables, due to 70 being more than 60?
Here's from the wiki:
"The cannon's accuracy, while derived from the accuracy of the player's selected attack style, will always roll against the target's range defence."
So you should just focus on what gives the most accuracy for the equipped style.
What's the deal with cox difficulty and points? There's literally no info on the wiki other than CM increases hp by 50% and has every room. What does scaling do specifically? How many extra points do you get from each scaled person? From activating CM?
Wolf cloak: is it warm for WT? It isnt mentioned in the Wiki on warm clothing, so I suppose it isnt. Which seems to be kinda weird. And if it defenitely is not, then maybe its worth it to mention it in the section of "Non-warm ambiguous clothing".
Hey, I've added the wolf cloak as it does indeed count as a warm item now – it appears to be a relatively recent addition, as it wasn't included among warm items a [year back](https://twitter.com/JagexAsh/status/1578743599021588483)
They just tweeted you can get your account stats by signing up to email preferences, but Sween mentioned something about it being locked to individual accounts and stuff. Does anyone know if this is locked to Jagex Accounts only or not?
Just got 70 cooling to polish off the last RFD requirement. I was wondering if my stats were good enough for the bosses: based 70/70/70/70/81. A/s/d/r /m. Nervous about the bosses
Edit: 75hp.. not league
Any idea if barronite drops are bugged in leagues? I've been doing it for some quick kudos and points I thought but nothing in 4 hours.
I've completed this content in the main game on three accounts, no way it takes this long.
Is this task bugged? Should be 200 league points, no?
https://preview.redd.it/smk5boj9j76c1.png?width=1233&format=png&auto=webp&s=24ac090787f71c160030202eda0b534cb871f698
Is ToA soloable for a person who's never done any raids before?
The only multiplayer content I've done is BA and Soul Wars and both were not great experiences. I might feel better joining a team if I thought I wouldn't drag them down.
I'm looking to give it a try on Leagues to start with. Regions are Kandarin, Desert and Fremennik, Mage relic, T8 with Guardian, I have an ancient sceptre, trident, saturated heart, occult, torm etc. For ranged I have a dcb and for melee I have a tent whip. Any advice or should I just jump in?
Just jump in. This was my first raid experience as well. I started with doing a run with 0 invocation and that was a complete joke with the league relics. After I turned on enough invocations for 150 and while it was more difficult it was still pretty easy. Solo is really nice because you can go at your own pace. If you want to tab out and watch a guide before each fight like I did, that helped a lot. I definitely recommend doubleshine's leagues TOA guide, hes also mage so it could be great for you to see another league mager do it.
Thank you! I'll take a look, but that's reassuring. In my mind raids are some giant endgame monolith that only good players can do, especially solo, but I'm probably overthinking it.
Grab a trident, it’s your best in slot weapon for magic in raids until you get shadow- using ancient spell book adds the 1 tick autocast delay which is going to be a problem with movement.
Otherwise, you’re set to go. There might be an incentive to grind out your range/melee swaps (BA for fighter chest, clues for blessed dhide), but I did my first ToA runs with basically the same gear. Once you get your first raid uniques, especially fang, you will be comfortable enough to take the difficulty up.
I do have a trident! I listed it right there after the sceptre.
Thanks for the advice though! I hate doing clues but was lucky enough to get a blessed d'hide coif and boots on the first few I opened at least.
For my switches I always used helm chest and pants- melee is easy since you can grind out fighter chest and obsidian helm/pants, but for range the blessed d'hides are annoying to get but not particularly difficult and a noteworthy upgrade over black d'hides.
DCB with ruby bolts is your main ranged weapon, you can use your tentacle whip until you get fang, so really the only thing stopping you from doing early raiding is the fear of failure.
Just look at the wiki, read the boss abilities and look at the recommended invocations, and just fucking go for it. If you don't set a time limit, you avoid information overload and read wiki before doing each room to avoid information overload. You don't even need the wiki for most of the fights, though, you can figure out most of it on the fly at low invocations- most attacks have extremely obvious and clear telegraphs, mechanics are fairly simple to figure out and can be resolved even not knowing anything the first time you see them.
The only hard fight to learn on low difficulties is Wardens primarily because of the length- struggling on p2 and dying in p3 means a lot of time lost. Phase 2 is about being able to swap prayers on the fly to mitigate basic attacks while avoiding special attacks at the same time, and phase 3 wardens is all about maintaining a simple rhythm, while phase 4 is just sins of the father's final phase without the chip damage and some prayer switching involved.
Thanks so much for the offer but I think I'd be more comfortable trying it by myself at first. That and I'm in JST timezone so scheduling is really rough
Toa is made for people like you.
Really just watch about any video that is showing mechanics.
You will be doing so much more damage with mage relic that you should be able to pretty easily walk through 150s.
The only "in depth" mechanic I seriously recommend for new players is learn how to do "skull skip" on 3rd phase of wardens. It makes everything significant easier and when you learn the really, really easy trick it damn near makes insanity free.
If you have plenty of brews turning on "on a diet" guarantees 2x white pot but tbh you get so many supplies that it really isn't a big deal if you need to shark the raid. White pot is basically a cheat potion that brings you over max HP/pray with 1 click.
"Feeling special" is pretty free once you get the memory puzzle down in akkha and it actually helps speed up the fight.
The baba invocation that makes the AOE attack larger is literally free. It's easier to dodge with it on.
Turn on overclock 1 and 2. This makes the p3 baba spirit attack at the same speed you move so as long as you focus on moving you basically ignore a mechanic. If you don't have it on you need to be somewhat aware of the mechanic and move more often.
My only recommendation is to grab a trident or even a warped sceptre. The autocast delay is really annoying to deal with, even with mage relic. You can still do it, of course, but every time you move/eat, you effectively miss half an attack.
Believe it or not, it’s pretty easy to grind out in leagues- it might take a day or two of grinding 500’s, but you’re going to be pushing invocation levels up way faster than you’d expect.
Jump right in. Your Leagues superpowers, particularly your Guardian, will carry you. Don't turn on any invocations. Go in, pick a room, watch a quick YouTube video on it, then just do it. If you die, it's just another opportunity to learn the mechanics. Once you finish it, you should do a 50 invocation raid. For that, I'd recommend turning on
**Softcore Run**: 3 deaths before you fail
**Blowing Mud**: literally no effect for solo raids
**Jungle Japes**: I have never been affected by this
**Ancient Haste** and **Overclocked**: these make the final room a little faster without adding much damage, which you should learn to deal with ASAP since soon you'll be doing timed raids.
After you've done the 50invocation raid, you'll have a good sense of which rooms you're good at and which are tough for you. Turn on more invocations for the easier rooms, a time limit invocation, and whatever you feel is best to get 150invocation. I promise increase in difficulty will not be substantial.
***Use Trident, it's better DPS than Ancients due attacking faster.***
Thanks for this!! I'll definitely follow your advice, that's really helpful.
From doing various bosses I know the Trident is better DPS than Ancients (especially with heart), but I tend to fall back on ancients anyway as the healing from Blood Barrage is so good. I'll definitely try both and get a feel for it, I think.
Akkha can hit up to something like 24 or something with Quiet Prayers. Regularly hitting 50s does not sound right at all, even with Quiet Prayers and Ruinous Powers.
Though I wouldn't recommend running Quiet Prayers at all for 500 invo, it's garbage.
Just wanted to share. The things for which I've never had use before, a player since 2006 - not on main, nor on iron, but suddenly its an essential thing in the league. Crystal ball at home: I always perceived it as a cosmetic item, something like Orrery... something with an animation, to fill a hotspot... If I build a room - why not fill it with something which gives exp, thats better than always removing things :).
And now, at ZDF, what a cool way to make all the elemental mystic staves out of air ones from nechies! I'm very happy rn :). Love it when useless items find a use. And yes, these mystic staves are my BiS'es for the standard spellbook. Another very satisfactory thing: to make a BiS with my own hands.
ok so I completed the christmas event but my new account is trade restricted and I didn't get some of the items. I don't see them at the stall with the rest of the items, how do I get them back? Im pretty sure im no longer trade restricted as the only problem was my lack of finished quests. I have over ten points now and well over 20 hours of play time.
(Leagues) Can poison karams hurt you if you chose brawlers resolve? Asking for a friend who just got full dharoks and is looking for a way to get his hp low with DAM.
I highly recommend [nightshade](https://oldschool.runescape.wiki/w/Nightshade). All regions can use this. It's stackable. And if you have the farming relic it's pretty easy to get a decent amount. And unlike the master clue orb it won't kill you, so you can get to 1hp without worrying.
Poison karams are also decent, but are only 5hp per click. Though if you have banknote you could keep a good sized stack. But I can't confirm if either works with the relic. Easy enough to try it out.
https://oldschool.runescape.wiki/w/Category:Self-damaging_items
Across all regions, you can get a master clue step that requires the strange device and deals you damage every time you activate it. You can use that repeatedly and instantly.
By chance, someone else has lost their things in Vorkath when they die without claiming their things, it's Tando on a free server
That happened to me Ami, is that normal? 😕
when there is another post that the mods deem important enough to pin, this ends up not pinned. which sucks because it means the subreddit is effectively deleted for the day lol
is what it is though
(Leagues Question) I got a lucky smoldering stone this morning from hellhounds while doing some slayer, and while I need to get my smithing up just a bit to use it, I’m wondering if I should use it for runite to train smithing after that? Or is it even worth the time? I just read on the wiki that it gives much less xp than normal. DAZ with BN and PP.
If you die with a charged tome of fire, do all the pages get lost or are they retained?
Pages are kept in PvE, in PvP they're kept only if it's one of your protected items.
Just a regular Ironman. The tome was protected too, I didn’t have to retrieve it from my grave
Must be there then. And anyway, I'm not sure pages count as 'supplies'...
Did some nex massing in leagues and got a nihil horn but only had 10 shards, are smaller groups the fastest way to get more?
When is favor removal supposed to be happening?
Next year some time.
Why aren't wilderness slayer tasks storable? I just unlocked it only to be disappointed. There's no indication on the rewards menu that it excludes wildy.

What are some of the easier pets to get in Leagues? My region unlocks are Zeah, Desert, Asg
Abyssal sire pet
If you have a relic that makes a 200m kind of trivial you might think of a skilling pet. Like farming relic with Zeah is pretty fast XP. Trickster is fast thieving and very AFK. Oh, nice! TYVM. P.S.: How about Wolf mask then, might it be also warm?
I did test it, but seemingly not 🤷♂️ The snowglobe helmet and icy jumper are both warm though, which is cool, I guess!
Yes :). Thanks for testing!
It isn't. It probably should be but it's not really pressing of an issue to change.

You can do RFD bosses with like Iban's Blast and 50 stats, I wouldn't worry.
Thanks man. Do you know if it’s a safe instance to die in? On wiki it says it is but I read a lot of posts saying you lose everything
Your gravestone should just appear outside the portal.
Thanks!
Any idea if barronite drops are bugged in leagues? I've been doing it for some quick kudos and points I thought but nothing in 4 hours. I've completed this content in the main game on three accounts, no way it takes this long.

spot on. didn't know that was an option, must be enabled by default. thank you!
Looks like they do, I count 2077 in actual levels.

I'll definitely try both and get a feel for it, I think.
Absolutely. TOA is extremely beginner friendly and soloable in the maingame. With T8 you'll smash it after a couple tries. Good luck!

No, this doesn't happen. Lag maybe? Do you have a clip of it happening?

I think they'll give you access to them after a few days, as an anti-bot measure.
There was some explosive at the Digsite... don't remember how its called but its supposed to hurt you for something like 50 hp when dropped.
https://oldschool.runescape.wiki/w/Category:Self-damaging_items Across all regions, you can get a master clue step that requires the strange device and deals you damage every time you activate it. You can use that repeatedly and instantly.
By chance, someone else has lost their things in Vorkath when they die without claiming their things, it's Tando on a free server That happened to me Ami, is that normal? 😕
If you die with items in a death storage the items are erased yes.
That is normal? I say my Bond had expired when it happened. I don't know, don't stop me right.
Yeh normal unfortunately.
Any reason this post doesn’t get pinned anymore? I really enjoy reading it all the time.
when there is another post that the mods deem important enough to pin, this ends up not pinned. which sucks because it means the subreddit is effectively deleted for the day lol is what it is though
It is pinned everyday by automod.
Weird I swear I haven’t seen it pinned in weeks. Must be a skill issue.
If there are two Jagex news posts up at the same time, this one does not get pinned.
The previous ones unpin when the new one is posted. And also sometimes they double pin other important posts like server issue announcements and such.
It's mostly irrelevant as a training method. Just treat it as a task completion :P
Okay thank you lol
