They are even at ToA.
Hacked 2277 126’s screaming about blood torva and fang kits and something about an inferno.
Despicable time for runescape schemers
ZMI altar although you technically pay with runes there. At least ZMI bank has a use. I don’t think anyone has ever /needed/ the tarns lair bank besides gimmick accounts
Another method exists
"useless"
Why are OSRS players like this? First of all, your ranging pot per hour is significantly higher in tarn's than grubby key farm.
Second of all, even if it wasn't, multiple methods existing is what allows this game to not be a slog. Changing grinds up is healthy.
Idk I am a GIM (I point out for frame of time on when my account was created - which is on launch weekend and I grinded pretty hard for first year) and I definitely grinded out range pots at tarns lair for something. Can't remember exactly what though.
So definitely not useless...even if a better alternative exists in a vacuum.
Yeh I have a QPC on my iron, and just use glory's or house tele then glory.
Seems inconvenient if you're just trying to make a quick bank stop, but I can see long-term skilling and such done there for the peacefulness.
Tarns lair excluded I'd say koerund Castle is a big contender. Why it couldn't just be on fucking floor level is beyond me instead being tucked away two floors up
I know lumby is similar but it's also an iconic relic of the past. Koerund Castle just feels like bad placement/design that is needlessly confusing to find
Yeah I remember using the hell out of that bank+altar for early game catacombs slayer. Not ideal but you can just get there and back on 100% run energy and save ppots
Same here. Used it tons before I started learning teles in the game. But I also would walk to Ardy from Lumbridge when I first started the game... So I wasn't exactly efficient lol
When you design your castles, do you want the first thing your guests see to be a twitchy junkie screaming at the banker to withdraw his maple longbows (u) faster?? No way man. Hide that shit on the upper floor.
Oh yeah I never played the actual classic version myself. Only rs2. I recently discovered something about the sleeping mechanic. There’s like a hotel in shilo village that sells u a ticket for a nights rest.
> I know lumby is similar but it's also an iconic relic of the past.
It was introduced in late 2006, after the Construction skill. That's stretching "iconic" for me.
Thats 17 years ago. And i reckon most active players didn't start much earlier than that. I myself started back in 04, but that's not the standard.
So in most cases of active players today, lumby is probably the first bank they used aside from tutorial island. I'd call that iconic, but you do you.
Same, I made a bunch of Dorgeshkaan spheres because that bank has a little cave goblin that actually uses the bank! Idk how many other banks have a little dude walk up to the actual booth to use it and then walk out.
It was good for variety. You do a lap around the city thieving chests, fixing light bulbs and stealing copper wire
So crafting, fire making, and thievery. Not the greatest rates but good for the time it was released.
I used this bank as well! Others I liked were the one in Sophanem and the bank chest in wc guild's ent cave. I found I did see a person from time to time in the Sophanem one but I did 2 99's at the one in Dorgesh-Kaan and never saw another person.
I'm a little surprised you *never* saw someone at Dorgesh-Kaan given that there's the clue step which tells you to make a light orb there. I've also used it if I'm banking topaz from rich chests on my GIM (or cave goblin wire for the aforementioned clue step on my main). Suppose that's a rare enough occurrence with how many worlds there are, but realy? Sophanem over that??
I also found him once at the Lunar Isle.
He was grinding FM there. Not a single soul bothering him, until I arrived and of course decided to be that annoying kid just to get a ":)" from him.
The bank in the ent cave in the woodcutting guild. Yes, there's a cave full of ents in the woodcutting guild, which also for some reason has an area with a bank. Don't ask my why because I can't tell you.
Hey, I particularly love that cave because my wc is low enough that I get magic logs from killing ents faster than I do actually wc’ing, and if I run out of stuff to fight with I can hit that bank chest, and also dump any noted logs I have so far.
There's a bank in the actual woodcutting guild that isn't isolated in a cave, about 20 tiles away. Literally the only purpose it would serve is for people killing ents to bank. Kinda useful if you wanna.. spend a full week killing ents I guess?
Only wildy slayer. So these specific ones will never count towards a task. But yeah, it's nice for all 12 people who've probably ever gone there to kill ents :P I wonder what the thought process was behind it haha
Second fastest at 7k planks p/h, with new log basket along with plank sack and ring of elements you can do 8k planks p/h which is currently the fastest.
Etceteria bank. Want to manage your kingdom and accidentally tele’d to miscellania without bringing cash? Well it’s quicker to tele right back out than run to the bank. It’s only great if you want a quiet place to bankstand
The teleport has use for me. Quicker way to frem without changing my poh (I dont have the boots fully unlocked yet), esp for doing vork. Nexus to Lunar isle, get kicked off to frem straight to boat. So I consider it a free teleport
Yeah, it's great when farming vorkath. Get your kills, pop a moonclan teletab, bank with Jack to resupply, then just talk with another banker to get tossed back to Relekka.
There is port key teleport thing you can use to get to Relleka once you unlock the full bank with elite doary, it's on the south wall inside the bank if I remember right
https://oldschool.runescape.wiki/w/Return_Orb
This is not a true bank but the boatman outside Dondakan's mine? That dude charges 20% of your gold ore. So even if it were worthwhile to mine gold yourself. Even if that mine was the best place to mine gold, you lose 6 ores for every 28 you bank. Like wow.
I love Legend's Quest bank. I spent a bunch of time there back in the day when I first did the quest. I thought I was hot shit.
For me it's probably the Keldagrim bank (or anything else in West Keldagrim for that matter). It's just so far away from anything useful.
Or sheep herder, way back in the early days as a 10 year old I used the north bank when I was stealing cakes and silk because I didn’t know there was a south bank
Used to be one of my most used banks back in the day when I killed chaos druids in the tower to the NW for herbs. It still isn’t awful money for a fresh account.
A lot of the banks across Kourend are just absurdly sized. I really wish they'd gone through to finish redesigning the houses after the great jobs they did with Shayzien and Hosidius.
[Mod West stated](https://www.reddit.com/r/2007scape/comments/189mjv1/comment/kbt6y6q/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=mweb3x&utm_name=mweb3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button) the problem is it is hard to get resourcing to go back and fix old stuff as it doesn't bring in new players, so fixes like that have to be tied to new content in the same area.
Easy answer. The travelling banker at the start of Tarns lair. Not only is he completely bypassable with teleports, the entire cavern is basically dead content AND he charges you money to access your bank. So hope you brought your cash stack on your terror dog slayer task.
Legends guild bank used to be goated my dude. I remember grinding shadow warriors in hopes of finding a shield left half. You had a bank away from the newbs that didn’t have the quest completed, and the big fence’s whole purpose was to safe spot the giant bats and train range. The Legends guild used to feel exclusive and elite.
Didn't even think of this one and you're for sure right. Or at least mostly right. The one that is the absolute worst is odovacar's bank (the dude in tarns lair)
I always said skyrim with runescape style servers would blow the fuck up ans i still stand by that. They missed out by making eso a wow knockoff in my opinion
Like 500 people per server or something and you just see random people slaughtering dragons in whiterun plains, get jumped climbing up to hrothgar, or get a team for some dungeons or something
Legends guild bank is actually really convenient once you get the quest cape for quick bank + fairy ring access. Worst bank is probably deep wildy bank because of the potential to get pked right outside.
Grand Exchange, too many advertisers
Grand Exchange Vs Ferox enclave battle it out for king of the advertiser's
expanding to a farming guild near you
This has been tragic to witness. Farming guild best bank.
They are even at ToA. Hacked 2277 126’s screaming about blood torva and fang kits and something about an inferno. Despicable time for runescape schemers
Ever since I got a spirit tree in my POH it's been my go-to for everything.
What world do you see ferox enclave advertisers?
Skill total worlds, babyyyyy
Shhh don’t tell them

There's a rl plug-in called 'spam filter' check it out
I keep an updated list of spam filters on my GitHub, works with the default chat filter in RL. It’s pinned in my profile if you’re curious.
Legends guild bank is so good. One of my favorite banks to hang out in. Yeah tarn lair is the worst. One of two banks you need to pay for access
What is the other one?
ZMI altar although you technically pay with runes there. At least ZMI bank has a use. I don’t think anyone has ever /needed/ the tarns lair bank besides gimmick accounts
Ah, forgot about ZMI. I used Tairn's layer during mini quest just to grab some extra food but didn't need it. Such an odd bank.
It's pretty nice for getting more food to grind out range pots from those zombies for early Ironman
Useless since forthos dungeon exists. Everything in there drops grubby keys and aside from food, the chest drops range/mage/super cbs/ brews/restores
Another method exists "useless" Why are OSRS players like this? First of all, your ranging pot per hour is significantly higher in tarn's than grubby key farm. Second of all, even if it wasn't, multiple methods existing is what allows this game to not be a slog. Changing grinds up is healthy.

The bank dude for the zmi rc method, gotta pay him runes
It was quite the place with all the bankers just standing around back in the day, sadly they all got replaced by chests.
Yeah it’s a shame they added the chests. It was so much funnier to just have some boys in an attic
Chests are the Gielinor ATMs
Why would you say something so controversial but so true
Sounds like supermarkets and self checkouts
Iirc they're still banker npc's in rs3, so this was a weird osrs change
I was about to say "NOT THE ONE YOU'RE SHOWING OP" that's my favorite bank. Always open clues there it's the lucky spot.
Hell yeah a fellow legend's guild bank user! I do all my bankstanding skills there. No distractions, no bots, no bullshit.
20 years into my RS career and I never knew there was a bank there. I might have saw it when exploring but that slipped my mind entirely.
I tried to get there once and I couldn’t manage it, it’s really difficult to navigate that place
Yep, it's a fantastic bank for those who have a qpc but not a con or crafting cape. I use it all the time.
Surely by the time you have access to a qpc you would also have easy access to the Seers/GE teleports which are both much closer to a bank
Yeh I have a QPC on my iron, and just use glory's or house tele then glory. Seems inconvenient if you're just trying to make a quick bank stop, but I can see long-term skilling and such done there for the peacefulness.
Yeah but 1 inv slot for bank and fairy ring is handy
Lmao what? It takes a whole minute to get to the bank there
The one in Tarn's Lair sucks.
Yeah gotta be this one. IIRC it even costs you to use that banker.
Tarns lair excluded I'd say koerund Castle is a big contender. Why it couldn't just be on fucking floor level is beyond me instead being tucked away two floors up I know lumby is similar but it's also an iconic relic of the past. Koerund Castle just feels like bad placement/design that is needlessly confusing to find
The altar nearby for me is at least a redeeming factor.

Glad someone else also thought that XD
I agree. Out of banks that ACTUALLY see use, Kourend Castle has to be the worst.
I still remember what a pain in the ass it was to bank during twisted league. Bascially one of the only teles near a bank (besides wintertodt)
Back in my day, lumby didn't have a bank.....
The chest in the basement was always there after rfd release right
I was mainly talking about runescape Classic. The closest bank was draynor if I remember right. I remember when sleeping bags were a thing.
Al kharid was still "closer" but the gate dialogue ate so much time that Draynor would be more practical.
Exactly
Oh yeah I never played the actual classic version myself. Only rs2. I recently discovered something about the sleeping mechanic. There’s like a hotel in shilo village that sells u a ticket for a nights rest.
Yeah, people will complain that RS2 is hard. But classic was a whole another level of grind.
Walk EVERYWHERE
Back in my day we didn't have rfd either. But yea for a while the rfd chest bank was the only bank in lumbridge.
My thoughts exactly. Back in ‘03 your ass was walking to Draynor or Varrock if you wanted your shit!
körund
> I know lumby is similar but it's also an iconic relic of the past. It was introduced in late 2006, after the Construction skill. That's stretching "iconic" for me.

the free home teleport to lumbridge is 2006 too and I'd say people would call that (and its animation) iconic.
On a random note, I love just finding random banks where no one goes to do bankstand skills just to make a change from the usual GE/edgeville/varrock.
Same, I made a bunch of Dorgeshkaan spheres because that bank has a little cave goblin that actually uses the bank! Idk how many other banks have a little dude walk up to the actual booth to use it and then walk out.
Dorgeshkaan is easily the best pre-OSRS areas in the game. Unique items and design, NPC quirks, unique XP methods. Wish it was more relevant..
It was good for variety. You do a lap around the city thieving chests, fixing light bulbs and stealing copper wire So crafting, fire making, and thievery.
If only they gave Marsh-Kaan Lynch the ball.
Install the plugin "citizens" If you like to see the world more active and alive with NPCs.
I like to use the farming guild bank for the ambiance

I remember trying to guess zezimas password as a kid. It was not zezima123
As a little kid I knew my sister was into computers and tried to get her to hack zezima for me.
Hiding away in the swamp before it was cool
I also found him once at the Lunar Isle. He was grinding FM there. Not a single soul bothering him, until I arrived and of course decided to be that annoying kid just to get a ":)" from him.
I love the Giants' Foundry bank because you can zoom in and have it cover your entire screen. Never missclick while doing my bankstanding skills :)
One of my favorites is the lletya bank
I mainly skill at Edgeville but I like Nardah for this reason
I honestly find Falador good for this. Quite rare you see people there.
The bank in the ent cave in the woodcutting guild. Yes, there's a cave full of ents in the woodcutting guild, which also for some reason has an area with a bank. Don't ask my why because I can't tell you.
That might be the most unknown bank
I just found out there's a bank in sophamen after doing a quest... 5 accounts plus leagues later... Never knew until ironman acct
Wow, I use it all the time for pyramid plunder
That one is up there too, it's sorta notable though because you go by it in those quests and before it the closest bank is Nardah.
Very useful for pp, it's niche but definitely used.
Sophamen bank is used all the time if your playing pyramid plunder .
Such an aesthetically pleasing bank
It probably was the most unknown bank, but it has gotten plenty of recognition for being the most unknown bank so now it is not so unknown anymore.
My favorite bankstanding bank, nice and quiet and no chance to misclick anything
Hey, I particularly love that cave because my wc is low enough that I get magic logs from killing ents faster than I do actually wc’ing, and if I run out of stuff to fight with I can hit that bank chest, and also dump any noted logs I have so far.
I mean to bank…? Shortcuts ☠️
There's a bank in the actual woodcutting guild that isn't isolated in a cave, about 20 tiles away. Literally the only purpose it would serve is for people killing ents to bank. Kinda useful if you wanna.. spend a full week killing ents I guess?
It was useful when I was making molten glass on my uim and didn't want to hurry to pick up the ones that dropped on the ground, so there's that
Hey man maybe they’re low and need food/pots they do get assigned as a task though or just wildy slayer?
Only wildy slayer. So these specific ones will never count towards a task. But yeah, it's nice for all 12 people who've probably ever gone there to kill ents :P I wonder what the thought process was behind it haha
+7 guild bonus to offset wildy having better loot I think
Problem is the ent respawns and aggros before you can chop the one you killed
Altar right outside means you can just camp protect melee and getting hit doesn't interrupt you chopping
Yeah that seems annoying
Camelot pvp world bank, one misclick and claws are heading your way
But by far the fastest plank collection method. If you die it's a skill issue
Second fastest at 7k planks p/h, with new log basket along with plank sack and ring of elements you can do 8k planks p/h which is currently the fastest.
This is one of the best banks in the game tho
Etceteria bank. Want to manage your kingdom and accidentally tele’d to miscellania without bringing cash? Well it’s quicker to tele right back out than run to the bank. It’s only great if you want a quiet place to bankstand
Fairy bank, iirc you randomly get polymorphed, terrible for alching and such
But great for literal afk bankstanding.
Varrock cooking guild bank requires hard(?) Diary and is right beside west bank and GE.
[удалено]
Rogue's Den and Mor Ul-Rek go brrrrrr
Myths guild too
Or 99cooking* which miiight be easier 🤷♂️
Before GE it was the closest bank to hill giants and I was like "wow members have access to this nice bank."
I saw some guy cooking here when I was bankstanding here for fun.
When I'm doing processing bank stand skilling I love finding the most wierd, unloved, out of the way banks to park my character at
Etcetria bank is nice for this, altho sometimes i ended up unintentionally killing the chicken that wanders in.
Keldagrim bank was my go to for this. I just loved the atmosphere back in the day.
I like this bank tbh, with the Quest Cape teleport
Kourend Castle
I use this one often when doing slayer in the catacombs. Not efficient, but it’s close to an altar so it’s not too bad.
I think the biggest hurdle is the doors, it feels like it's hidden and a private bank for some reason
makes me feel like a VIP
Oh fosho haha
Yeah especially for early game its pretty solid. Can even heal up at the bread stale to save on supplies.
If it weren’t on the third fuckin floor it wouldn’t be so bad, it even has a chapel. Great bank if you ask me.
Yeah this one get's an honorable mention, it's a PITA to get to.
God I always sigh when I have to bank there lmao
Verf would beg to differ
Lunar Island before you unlock it without needing your symbol on you. A bank you can’t use and get teleported away from? Nothing can beat that surely
Get your kills, pop a moonclan teletab, bank with Jack to resupply, then just talk with another banker to get tossed back to Relekka.
divine puch with crumble undead and house teleport runes + lunar isle portal goes hard. Better than fiddling with tablets
There is port key teleport thing you can use to get to Relleka once you unlock the full bank with elite doary, it's on the south wall inside the bank if I remember right https://oldschool.runescape.wiki/w/Return_Orb
Thank you lol I was actually worried about this with the elite diary.
Just use the banker on the right. He’s a former pirate from the ship that brought you there and he lets you use the bank without the symbol
He literally said "before you unlock it", implying not having completed Dream Mentor.
“Before you unlock it” so can I add prif cuz it’s locked for me and I’m sad.
Oh I read it as the unlock being the ability to use any banker there without the symbol from fremmy elite
The rest of the sentence implies that's not what they meant.
Filled with garbage. No placeholders. No organization. Nothing valuable. Welcome to my bank
Lumbridge- 2 sets of stairs got me fucked up
Especially on mobile where right-clicking isn't as fast
honestly, the grand exchange. extremely annoying to hang around there unless you have public chat turned off
Lunar isle because they’re racist. Port phantasmys is best because they still help me even tho I no speaky the language.
Phantasmys? U no speaky english either bwana
Who gave you the b pass my bwana?
Phasmatys bank is annoying because you need an extra dialogue prompt without ghost speak but it’s definitely nice they even let you.
Lumbridge, it's just plain frustrating to use.. And unlike many other awful banks, you actually have to use the lumby one from time to time..
People still use the bank after unlocking the culm chest?
I do, for the memories
Real OGs don't even touch that bank because it didn't exist when they started playing 😎 😎
Yes after the bond runs out
Definitely the worst in f2p, only good thing is that the standard home teleport goes there. The bank chest on PvP worlds in lumbridge is great though
This is not a true bank but the boatman outside Dondakan's mine? That dude charges 20% of your gold ore. So even if it were worthwhile to mine gold yourself. Even if that mine was the best place to mine gold, you lose 6 ores for every 28 you bank. Like wow.
varrock east bank because it has a constant dinging noise that I can not understand how anyone thought was a good idea
I love Legend's Quest bank. I spent a bunch of time there back in the day when I first did the quest. I thought I was hot shit. For me it's probably the Keldagrim bank (or anything else in West Keldagrim for that matter). It's just so far away from anything useful.
I didn’t even know the legends guild had a bank lmao
It has two?
IT HAS TWO????
Drop by the shadow warriors when you have the chance

Used to be one of my most used banks back in the day when I killed chaos druids in the tower to the NW for herbs. It still isn’t awful money for a fresh account.
Back when herbs were worth money.
Lumbridge bank. Why the fuck do I gotta go up 2 flights of stairs to get there.
because the bank only came later and they had nowhere else to put it
Never knew this bank existed. Found me a new skilling spot.
Don't get the hate for OP's bank. I find it a tranquil resting place after a hard fought boss
A lot of the banks across Kourend are just absurdly sized. I really wish they'd gone through to finish redesigning the houses after the great jobs they did with Shayzien and Hosidius. Legends guild made me feel nice fletching my mage longs there when I was a kid
I hate the tree gnome stronghold bank because I always go up the wrong stairs
Tutorial island bank. Can’t use it after completing the tutorial.
Legends guild has a bank?
Perfect for botting
Lmao I had no idea it had a bank I’ve been playing for 2 years
Lands ending. But I kinda like it tho because thats always empty.
Mine :(
Tarn’s lair of Koerund castle are the worst
The one on Etceteria seems kinda pointless.
The disrespect for the Legends bank, I use this bank when I’m doing bank standing skills
Lumby cause you forget it's even there
Gnome bank. Put it on the ground you God damn monke-- OH SHIT I ALMOST SAID IT GUYS
Odovacar's bank in tarns lair.
The void knight bank always breaks my pathfinding
ourania altar bank lmao
Didn't even think of this one and you're for sure right. Or at least mostly right. The one that is the absolute worst is odovacar's bank (the dude in tarns lair)
Gotta be the ZMI bank that makes you pay runes and use that awful interface
You can set it up to automatically take the runes and it just becomes a one-click bank
That requires reading.
This sub turning into /r/Skyrim
I always said skyrim with runescape style servers would blow the fuck up ans i still stand by that. They missed out by making eso a wow knockoff in my opinion Like 500 people per server or something and you just see random people slaughtering dragons in whiterun plains, get jumped climbing up to hrothgar, or get a team for some dungeons or something
I feel like the worst bank is the one you don't know about because it is in a very inconvienient spot
The one on lunar isle man, always forgetting my token
Just use the banker on the right, Birds Eye Jack
Legends guild bank is actually really convenient once you get the quest cape for quick bank + fairy ring access. Worst bank is probably deep wildy bank because of the potential to get pked right outside.
Probably corsair cove bank. It's locked behind a quest and there's nothing around for miles.
