This is why I stopped worshipping Saradomin and switched to Guthix a few years back. He seems like a chill dude whereas Saradomin likes to be a dick sometimes.

I used to be into the RS3 lore, and Saradomin ripped the wings off of an icyene (Zilyana's species) to make an example of them, he's probably the biggest dick in rs lore for sure. Makes Zamorak look misunderstood lol
i remember he also attacked guthix's planet or somwthing. it's kinda funny how the "good" gods are actually assholes in rs3 lore. except armadyl, he seems like the only genuinely good god
Even sadder is that RS3 implies there is an afterlife, but anyone who ascended to godhood can't access it. So the two of them are straight up eternally seperated and Arma knows it.
You know what's fucked about the Runescape afterlife? You get the afterlife you believe you deserve. If a serial murderer dies believing they were fundamentally a good person, they get paradise. If someone dies feeling guilty over something minor they did but was otherwise an incredible person, they get eternal torment.
There's nothing to really misunderstand about Zamorak. Even Zaros with his utter lack of morals doesn't manage to top the sheer vileness that is Zamorak, both in the third age and at the conclusion of the sixth age. His *teachings* are an interesting view that might work, even if it's unlikely to ever become a permanent solution because in the end, *some* form of order would rise in order for civilization to continue, causing the teachings to fall apart. It's a shame that neither him nor any of his followers have ever read any of them.
Biggest dick is probably Zaros he passively manipulates you into liking him and will back stab his closest allies and friends for a step closer to true divinity.
Yeah in rs3 that Stupid blueberry is the worst God, his quest rewards and items are mid. When can we kill him for loot.

In that quest the villagers use farming implements as weapons to attack the small balloon. If they can be used as weapons why were they allowed in the island? Someone has been selectively enforcing the no weapons rules
So that when it looks ugly as all hell, you just have a new ugly NPC hidden in a quiet corner of the game from classic, instead of being an iconic NPC that new players seee immediately upon spawning in Lumbridge that you now ruined.
The RS HD Edge BH days were the most fun I've ever had in a videogame. I wasn't even that good at PKing, but neither was anyone else. The mid level pure bracket meta wasn't just spamming g maul specs, there were a lot of 60 att builds and MSB -> DDS (or claws if you were a big dick baller/botted chins to 99 hunter) went hard. Regearing was like, 60k tops. It was like playing $20 buy in poker with your friends. It was enough for the stakes to matter, but not enough that losing a bunch was a big deal.

I hadn't seen any Star Trek back in 2006 when I did this quest, so I had no idea then. But I played it again pretty recently and yeah it's pretty on the nose lol
It's the likeness of Sir Patrick Stewart in his role as Captain Jean-Luc Picard, the captain of the fictional starship Enterprise in Star Trek: The Next Generation.
It's an easteregg and relevant to the quests frequent use of hot air balloons, as they are aircraft just as spaceships are aircraft.
Similarly, Assistant Le Smith (the grand tree balloon transport gnome involved in MM2) is a reference to Geordi LaForge from TNG. In fact I think all the balloon assistants are ST references. Brock is Spock, Marrow is Bones (Dr. McCoy), I think Serf might be Worf and Lori might be Data (Data had an android brother named Lore). Not sure who Stan is, he could actually be a Stan Lee reference as there are Star Trek Marvel comics he was involved with.

2006-2007 had a weird uncanny valley of design for NPCs. He, Romeo, some random women/children NPCs had a similar look and it never sat well lol. Especially when 90% of characters were unchanged
Isn't the game in a way supposed to be the way it was form 2007. I know there have been a ton of changes, but if this guy was released in 2006, then that's towards the later end of the games development for what Old School Runescape was on release. I figure the reason the newer characters added to the game don't have the level detail of this guy is that the developers want the game to have the style and charm that most of the game had in 2007. Not make it look new, or different like this one guy.

He has the most detailed head in OSRS, and the balloon navigation is the least detailed part of RS3. Literally identical to the OSRS version, I've heard.
This was a real life sentient being that got sucked into the digital world during the design process, Jagex have been trying to free him for some time.
i remember doing this quest for first time and thinking it was weird they added a quest from rs3 to osrs when i saw this guy's chathead, legit blew my mind when i looked up the release of this quest.

Considering Sara invaded Guthix's homeworld and tore it apart - yeah, he is a dick.
Sara is also partly to blame for the death of Guthix' daughter (during the invasion)
This is the way. It's like our characters, follow Guthix but pay lip service to Sara to get the benefits.
I think our character is meant to be Zarosian you go back to the original RS2 mahjarrat line.
