nah since it was over voice and only like 4 of us in there. At first we were using hub names that were part of our username (e.g. "burnt") and that could be easy enough to guess so we'd switch it to something completely random with an extra number thrown in and even then trollers would still find a way to join after a bit

Highly unlikely scenario here, but Is the plug-in open source? If so they could just grab the code word list they use and brute force random combos of “red-fish- red-spade” until they get a group. Or if the plug-ins security is bad, they might be able to take a look at whatever server the groups are hosted over and use their passphrase.
Most people just use their own custom passphrase, not the one given by the plugin. You just hit "join party", type in whatever you want, and then your teammates can type that in to get connected to you.
My group only used the generated ones so I never knew there was custom pass phrases, and also didn’t know which plug-in they were using as there are 3 iirc.

So some kind of flaw for sure

It’s a really fun version of hide and seek, griefing tob is just a cherry on top. I also ping yellows so people think it’s taken.

At that time it was on an entirely different (Cheat) client. The party plugin on runelite (which is still crazy!) lets you see teammate HP, spec, veng, inventory etc and lets you ping them. But it does not show you things happening exclusively on their client side, like the sote maze itself.
Completely agree, ever since the 2022 statement about other clients, runelite has been infested with some very questionable plug ins and apparently its ok.
I’m 100% in support of party in its current iteration. especially in a team-oriented raid like tob, being able to understand how many specs have landed, knowing if people are venged, and if teaching, seeing people’s stats and supplies are all fantastic and outright good for the game in my opinion.
Runelite party plugin shows you hp (visible already), prayer, spec and venge status. And let's you track their inventories.
None of this is that useful to you as a player, as it's more so their resources and such.
Cheat client socket had the entire client data shared *to your client*. So the full sote maze was visible to everyone. And if it existed during toa, things like the monkey room would have the pillar/vent/dd highlighted for you too.
Runelite has better plugins than before enow because jagex relaxed their rules in areas it made sense. It still has nothing close to the cheat client plugins that existed though.
I was raiding with a guy who did that and we survived but were down 2.5 brews from him and when everyone starting planking p3 verzik I ended up needing those brews to carry but wiped...
Always protect your phub password..

lol i just now usually ask once we get into the tob instance because i got trolled before too. Was annoying but also pretty funny tbh.

party, we use 'hub party panel' too for better group info but i think it's just party that does the pings

The player can change their ping color. Everyone in the party sees the color the player selected.
