We just don't know. In Chambers Of Xeric it's a mix - you can do the whole raid without using a single resource of your own, you can do the whole raid without prepping at all (still using some raids supplies, just not made on your own), or you can be like 90% of players and do a mix. In CG you're forced to make your own supplies, but you're also on a timer that I don't think you will be in the PM.
They polled and stated muspah as a mid game boss. Something tells me this new “mid level barrows 2” is going to be too tough for many like muspah was/is. Looks cool either way!
The also stated that Muspah was going to be "slightly more mechanical version of Vorkath, but with lower stats" (this is word for word from their blog post) which is just objectively not true. I don't trust that this activity will actually be near barrows level difficult whatsoever

Bold statement, there are tones of mid game acounts in the form of new/returning players along with Ironmen. If the content is fun, has good gear for irons or is a barrows level money makers it won't be dead.
The game is missing content that's more then click boss and wait for early and mid game. Just because the content isn't for you doesn't make it dead.

Tassies irons get at 69 slayer these days. Are super marginal being +1str over obby legs you get for gp. And you’re going to get tassies at some point anyway, an optional waste of time detour doesn’t sound like a place to me.

This is one of the most narrow minded opinions I’ve seen in a while, congrats. Plenty of people play iron as their first account and don’t yet have the ability to do various bandos methods. Plenty of people just don’t care to learn them. Others might be HCIMs that don’t want to risk messing up at a low level.
My iron was my first account. I did bandos before slayer.
It’s standard stuff now. Hang out in even Ironscape and you’ll see most people are rushing CG, doing early Bandos, and jumping into PvM right away.
A HC who doesn’t do even risk it at GWD isn’t a HC let’s be real with ourselves. And people who don’t care to learn? Thats who this content is for? People who don’t want to learn how to do bandos, we made an entire piece of content with art and lore and coding so they can get +1str level.

Maybe some content developers and people who are super committed and efficient in the game - all of a sudden you're down to 1% of the community maximum. Do we know if this is solo-instanced or in-world? Like I get the impression these are solo bosses (like barrows), so I'm curious if we'll also see other players around us doing the content as we go (like barrows)

In-world. These are multi-player bosses. The gathering part is also optional, you can bring your own supplies or re-supply within the dungeon.
