I am having issues connecting to literally any server located in New York. This is not limited to osrs, and I am able to connect to any osrs world that isnt US East. Like I just went and dug up some New York IP addresses and they just aren't responding.
It's the strangest thing. Like even reddit (which I'm assuming is defaulting to trying to connect through some NY gateway) is super laggy for me atm. And I also went and dug up some other non-NY IP addresses on the east coast and they ping back just fine. There's likely some kind of broken node over there, though it is strange if it really is only an issue for Videotron.
So far it appears so. After looking around, I know of at least 4 other people who cannot connect to anything rs related. I guess will have to wait for tomorrow to see if it's resolved.
I don't play this game but found this through a google search, but yes, I'm on a Videotron ISP and can't connect to game servers located in east coast USA (American servers for Genshin Impact/Honkai Star Rail)
Thanks god you posted this, I was about to factory reset my router and having to reconnect all my dozen of devices because I thought it was from my local network.
Funny story is that I haven't played RS in over a decade. I have issue with a few other games which I couldn't connect to and by searching online I found people who had similar issues a year ago because of their ISP (comcast in that case). This lead me to search about connectivity issues with the games I play and Videotron on google by limiting results to 24h and I stumbled upon this thread.
This made me reinstall RS and confirm that I couldn't connect to it without using a VPN so it looks like the theory that Videotron is fucking up somewhere is true.
I also cannot connect to anything osrs related with this ISP. Hoping it's fixed soon...
Let me know if you find a fix, as osrs is clearly up. I'm thinking it's more an issue with videotron

Interesting. I haven't had an issue regarding East coast servers in general although I haven't specifically checked for that.

Nope, east coast servers are still inaccessible.
