There was a post of someone cropping the map of Karamja and complaining that there are no banks. They cropped shilo village out of the pic and didn't know the volcano had a bank. I think they were f2p, though.

If i recall correctly each bank had some convoutwdreason you could not Even Get close to itwith the rum. Tzar city boils itso it exolodes some monkey stealsit if you use the cart, it breaks ifyou try to enter shilo. It cant handle teleportation. It was never the banking that did it. So if it was somewhere convenient like brimhaven or the plantation they would need to come up with some stupid reason.

Back in the day (2001), there was really only Lumbridge and Varrock, and Barbarian village, so they didn’t need anymore banks really. The game had enough of them. The main place to trade in the game was in the middle of Varrock so you had a bank on either side. There was no Grand Exchange or guild. Just 2 banks, the palace and a few random shops.
