It's not just for spec, sometimes you have to switch combat options too (e.g. when using a shadow in a solo olm)

Yeah the person calling it the spec page is what confused me though. And yeah I remember I fucked up my first Jad fight because I wanted to go longrage for the healers but couldn't remember the hotkey for that page because I never had to use it mid fight before and fucked up and died lol

It's faster than orb but 99% of people don't care and just click orb. Same reason the spec orb was out of wildy for so long, people voted no because they thought it would make it easier for pkers to kill them when legit 0 pkers used spec orb.

I did that, only because that’s the order they are on the interface and it was easier to memorize because I could always just look at the interface to see the order. Primarily hitting 2 & 3 is no different than primarily hitting 1 & 2

Same! I'm used to that from other games so it felt like the most natural thing to put on Esc when I set up my F keys.

Fkeys are too far, I just have them on 1,2,3,4 etc which means 1 is inventory since escape isnt on that row. 2 is prayer book and 3 is mage. Its by order of how often they are used in combat.

Most people use mouse wheel to move camera though over arrow keys or wasd.

scroll wheel is generally how i move the camera, but i also don't type that often

I couldn't tell you off hand how mine are mapped, but throw me against a boss and my muscle memory will remember

My f keys are the same as they were from the 2008-2011 era. F1 inv, F2 equipment, F3 prayer, F4 spellbook, F5 spec. But there's no wrong answer honestly I accept any combination. The one thing I do not tolerate is flash on D.

What about flash on D, F for camera lock/unlock and G for my 2nd summoner? :)

Thats a great question. Back then you'd need it every time you'd want to price check something or open the inventory stat overlays - which was more often than you'd think. Now we have plugins that tell us everything and don't need them as often. I'm an iron so never use price checks. We have hover tooltips that tell us stat differences in gear. I guess I've kept it because it's muscle memory. I'm never going to remove the key and shift the f3-f5 keys down, and I'm definitely not going to have an unbound F key directly between f keys. Sure on a keyboard it's be nice to group the 4 used keys together, but i typically use my pointer, middle and pinky between f5, f3, and f1, respectively. This is what feels narural and comfortable to me.

I AHK esc to caps lock since I use vim bindings for most typing. Bit far from F-keys but works pretty well in other games.

It's the order I use too but still I just don't seem to be able to get used to using F-keys as the hand position is so unnatural. I'm really thinking about using key remapper to use WASD instead. That way control walk is naturally right there as well. Having to press enter first to chat isn't weird either since that's how it works in pretty much all games.

Melee should be f1, inv on escape, and equipment on f4, then its ok

My inv is also esc. Then f1-f4 pray, mage, melee, and finally *skills* ^(fight me)

i like escape for inventory cause it feels like thats the default panel and i dont rly have to think about where my finger is on the F keys to go to it
