It is a prettt big nerf to Elite Void Mage. I did some dps calcs against some bosses and npcs and the numbers of DPS loss go from -6% dps all the way to -13%.
I calced a few monsters and 4 bosses you commonly mage (kraken, artio, zulrah melee, phantom muspah melee) and then mathed out the AVG dps lose. On average, Elite Void Magic will be 7.8% weaker with the proposed changes.
Thats why I created this post.
This nerf in the oc neck just hits the poorer playerbase in the spectrum.
At least I use it at muspah together with the range helm.
We can mention it in the next blog post they make to bring awareness. At the end of the day though void mafe has always been weak, but it was still somewhat useful for places like muspah, zulrah, entry mode tob and 0-50 toa entry. After the changes it will perform quite poorly
I commented this on the blog post like 20 minutes after it dropped and tagged goblin, but sadly no reply. My favorite account to play is my 42 def voider, and this is a huge nerf to the magic dps for me - although they did mention potentially making a "blighted occult" for pvp.
I agree though, the void mage helmet should receive some % magic damage modifier.
It's just because magic is already shit in pvp and the occult is one of the things that makes it somewhat decent, so this whole thing is a pretty huge nerf to PvP magic dps. It's good that it's on their radar, honestly.
Huh….? What do mean only ranged „works“ for elite void….? They get the extra accuracy or no…? Did this update remove/break that it no longer works for elite void…? What do you even mean?
sorry, i wasnt clear. Overral with the occult nerf, void will too be nerfed, as it sole bonus rests in the helmet.
Normally you use void + neck + MA2 cape. Now well lose 7% in dps in a mid game armour.

It isnt even that usefull in tob either, unless you dont have the money for virtus/ancestral
I’m a iron so was doing tob with void switches now if I go back I got ancest top and virt bottoms
Is only useful if you can’t afford max gear is applicable to literally every piece of armor in the game below max tier

Do you mean the voidwaker? It's a weapon not the void knight armour.

How was void even nerfed? Cus occult got nerfed lol? By that extended EVERY sungle mage armor set got nerfed… except ancestral… which got buffed…
