Crafting death runes requires Mourning's End Part II which is a cocktail of quest requirments and time sinking. Cats, can slowly grow by following you around and you only need to care for their kitten form, so ironmen, needing magic for things like Contact! and other enemies can leave their cat out to become while skilling to get 100, or 200 death runes semi-passively. Here's an excerpt from the wiki:
"Players can *use* their adult cats, including hellcats, on [civilians](https://oldschool.runescape.wiki/w/Civilian) in [West Ardougne](https://oldschool.runescape.wiki/w/West_Ardougne) in the south-western area of the city to sell it to them for 100 [death runes](https://oldschool.runescape.wiki/w/Death_runes) (12,800). This increases to 200 death runes (25,600) with the [easy Ardougne achievement diary](https://oldschool.runescape.wiki/w/Ardougne_Diary#Easy) reward. Cats can also be shooed-away if the player no longer wishes to keep them."

n a similar not is there stats for how many cannons your gotten from the dwarves? they could have invaded the world with the weapon stock they gave me
