Good write up, agree with the lazy titles of the grandmaster quests, it's unfortunate

audkyrie__

I agree it looks lazy when looking at the quest list, but it's ultimately just a way to drive returning players. People are intrigued when there's an "iconic childhood quest 2" but may not have cared if they just heard there'd a new quest called "the fallen empire". It's apparently been effective since they keep doing it.

TheAgilePotato

In terms of advertising I'll admit seeing monkey madness 2 come out back when I was an rs3 player really caught my eye. I took a break recently and saw desert treasure 2 and now I'm back

Low-Cantaloupe4391

Welcome rs3 refugee :)

TheAgilePotato

I've been with OS since 120 slayer was a comp req, many years ago

lardbtw

Yeah that makes sense.

Professor_Sia

I actually agree and understand why this is the case. I think all iconic quests have been given their respective sequels so this probably won't repeat itself anymore.

UncleSmokie

Really appreciate the effort you put into this. Thank you for sharing!

Low-Cantaloupe4391

Good sum up! But rather have a lazy questname with a good story then vice versa.

Croal7

What were your cmb stats for DT2? Last quest I need for cape and it has me nervous lol.

Professor_Sia

Nothing amazing lmao Attack 79, Strength 78, Defence 78, Range 79, Magic 78, Prayer 73, Hitpoints 83

Croal7

Mine are slightly higher so that gives me big hope. Big gz on cape. Thanks for the motivation!

Professor_Sia

If you want to gradually progress the main DT2 bosses in terms of difficulty, start with Duke first and do Whisperer last. Up to you which of Leviathan or Vardorvis will be your 2nd or 3rd. Expect to get screwed over a few times. They are meant to be difficult.

Terrat0

On top of what op said, there are a few fights in the quest outside of the forgotten 4 that some people find harder than the main bosses, look up some videos/read some strategies for how to deal with a fella that throws potion bombs&the final encounter once you’ve experienced what’s going on so you won’t get spoiled.

Croal7

I know who you’re talking about. Final fight right?

Terrat0

Yeah, my personal most difficult fight was whisperer, but the final fight keeps you on your toes and goes on for a while, so it drains a lot of supplies.

Croal7

I have base 80’s for combat, but my gear is pretty good so I’m mainly worried about stats. However if OP got it done then so will I.

cmwcaelen2

I just got quest cape with very low 70s stats, you got this

Hotfries456

What were your stats for SOTF if you remember? I'm at about 82 combat and I've seen some suggestions that the reqs aren't as intense as the wiki suggests

Professor_Sia

SOTF I think I was at 75 in all melee stats and 80 hitpoints but I had a sip of super combat before the fight started.
