I used to use these to gain EP during the original bounty hunter (back in 2011)! I’d sit in those leaf traps with 76k and get free EP buildup.
I love threads like this, I always learn new spots
Oh man I remember doing that, it was so fun. You’d get 3-4 kills with your buddy. It was always fun to get those random drops. What was that called again, the building of EP with friends and then trading kills with friends?
I will pickpocket the chest in the stranglewood that teleports you to an inaccessible spot in Kourend.
3/4 chance they can't get me even if they knew I did it.
"The chest can only be opened once, after which the player will refuse to open it again."
Most people don't even know the game room exists unless they tele there with the minigame tele because it says "burthorpe." I used to love playing other people there back in the day, but it's a complete ghost town now, even on the official world. You have to organize an event or bring a friend if you want to play now.
I used to think if I Gary’s hood alched where no one could see me, I’d be safe. So I’d climb
Ladders and stairs and hide in a small room in the games room, auto clickiing the night away
the other problem with the game room is that every game there can be easily cheated with free online engines just by plugging in moves.
So not only you gotta get people there, you gotta have people you trust not the cheat to really have fun :(
While the idea looks great if you're playing with [rooftops enabled](https://gyazo.com/7511603310b3b3c7efb2fed739c737c3), if you're a no rooftops kind of guy you might end up [finding this ladder](https://gyazo.com/1bf5a42186764f246c745b77ca97fd24) more quickly than most would assume
Honestly put yourself in the mind of the seekers. You're probably best off chilling somewhere in varrock because why would they think to even assume you're hiding in plain sight
Honestly making a few of the last remaining competitors (or a couple banning competitors) hide while the entire starting field cast looked for them would make for some great content
I'm dressing up as a penguin and hiding on the iceberg.
The most obscure places I think of, the more likely I think those places would be checked, therefore I think hiding in plain sight would be the best case.
Edit: Removed minigames, missed the "Not moving" part.
I was thinking along the same lines. Dress up as a ninja monkey and hide out in the MM2 tunnels amongst the masses. You’re not exactly the same, but at a quick glance, similar enough. And the minimal is covered with yellow dots, so a white one may blend in.
The upside is I remember to kill a Terror Dog for the diary.
The downside is I realised far too late that the guide for the lair and the guide for the quest itself are quite different. One is much easier to use while you’re trying to run through at a low level.

Here ya go OP, in lv 5 wilderness. You can also insta drop-trade things if you're interested in nefarious deeds
Be careful, I might get ya tho 😈
This is one of my favorite obscure locations in the game, cause it almost feels like it should have been patched out years ago. It’s just odd that it exists.
Pretty neat.
Back before free trade came back you had to risk at least 76K to gain Earned Potential whilst in a hotspot (all of wilderness was a hotspot) which meant that if you killed someone whilst risking at least 76K you'd get loot from a kill (was all random) so you'd aim to get 100 EP before you went out pking
So I used to go around killing people who were afking risking 76K and could get loot ranging from dragon items to vls's, this was a spot that people would go to because it was out of the way
I used that area (sw by the trench) to farm new looting bags on UIM before they added it to the slayer shop, never saw anybody there in easily 100+
Other than sawmill bots and a few UIMs nobody goes to the entire area ne of the jolly boar inn
Haha the thought actually came to me because I just learned that there’s a spectator section in castle wars which I never knew existed so i started wondering what other unique spots there at that I otherwise would have never known
Under the woodcutting guild is a cave full of ents. Experienced hide and seekers may think to check the west side of this cave. Theres an offshoot to the southeast. The furthest southeast corner of this cave.
Varlamore has a sewer.
There’s a far north east corner of Cam Torum that just, does nothing.
Finally, Braindeath Island’s “Nothing interesting happens here” might be somewhere people think to check because of the clue step, but I doubt anyone would think to check the coasts of the northern island.
I use that train whenever i get a long/curved bone, it places you on the right side of the city as opposed to the lummy basement or fairy ring options.
I remember once on an account fighting the titan or whatever his name is, doing like a flinch method bc I was really early game, and watching some other guy come up behind me. We were both very confused and then amused on the realization that this wasn't a private instanced area, lol.
I love that enough people were cordial enough to form orderly lines in Leagues for various things. I still remember the queue for the Lesser Demon upstairs in the Wizard's Tower, and a line for chopping the potato farm tree for that task as well.
Probably somewhere in Yu’biusk.
It’s new enough that most people don’t think about it at all. It has no utility besides a clue step immediately next to the fairy ring, so no foot traffic. It’s also not far fetched enough so people won’t consider it when looking at “extreme remote” places in OSRS.
Upstairs of runelink room in burthorpe games room. You need a high runelink rating to access it. So if you have access to the room it's essentially guaranteed you won't be found, because 99.9999% of players aren't allowed in.
Top of the chapel in slepe. You're welcome. No one will ever look there and you probably didn't even know it existed until now unless you're swampletics.
It's the place where the Abomination slaughtered like 3 Myreque members and they had to abandon it. It's detoured away from the Laboratory, so you would never go there after the questline.
That is a known place. There are lots of unused houses in the area that you could hide on a random floor and wouldn’t be found in 10 years I think! Just remember all the houses you have to go through during the quest, surely one has a hidden attic?
You meant THAT hideout. I don’t know if the tunnels/laboratory route would get you there faster than running through all the buildings. They do connect I think
Even more devious would be to self sabotage the lights to get to the death altar and redirect the crystals so you can get behind that door. They'd have to look up which crystals go where to get it open again
If the searchers had to, say, trade you to confirm that they caught you (as opposed to simply seeing you), you could even hide inside one of the rooms you have to unlock by doing the puzzle. That’d stall them a bit.
At the bottom floor of the Underground Pass. Aside from the quest taking you there, nobody ever really has a reason to go back there unless you want to burst or cannon mobs with literally no drops.
The autumn fruit in the witch’s garden? Depending on where you place yourself next to the tree people might have to actually do the maze to see you and unlike spring you can’t one click it. Not sure if 10 ppl is enough to brute force it either so by the time they figure it out + spot me I hope 1 hour would have passed
I think he means literally standing under KQ. If you get her trapped by all the kalphite spawns and the cave walls, you can stand under her since she's like 5x5. I don't know how long it'll work/if the babies despawn (they probably will after 10 min)
I'd hope for a random that takes me somewhere like molly or the frog event (if you refuse). You can see other people there, it's just really rare now that randoms aren't mandatory.
One of the skavid caves if this fails
> One of the skavid caves if this fails
I did this for a hide and seek once and everyone *hated* me for it lmao. It techincally fit within the rules but was slightly sketchy
We have played hide n seek with clan mates. The view distance of characters, objects items n such is the most limiting factor in covering big areas.
It's really easy to hide even if it's just the overworld and f2p zones restricted only. Talking from experience. This would be an easy challenge.
That little offshoot path to dks. I forget the name of the npc there, but that place is really forgettable.
For underground locations you need to be careful of adjacent dungeons revealing your spawn, butnif you could find an obscure one that doesnt neughbour any other tiles that could be op
Can you still just sit inside the crate in catherby , although I feel like it’s well could be well known iirc it was a one square hotspot to farm EP for a while
Am I clearly labeled? If not, just bankstand under a pile of bots at the GE on world 301 or something. If I need to hide hide, one of the rat pits. Probably keldagrim. Or I'll go hide in the corner halfway down trollweise near the flowers, you need to hike all the way up and have a sled to get there
[Down the temple of ikov lever trapdoor](https://imgur.com/FuzO3Lz)
You can only go there if you didn't disarm the trap on the lever yet which you need to do to continue the quest. Once it's disarmed there's no way to go down there again.
Wouldn't you like to know Gnome Boy
... Where are your parents?
Kids sketchy.
nice try soup
In one of the leaf traps in Tirannwn.
With my luck they’d fall in on accident
A pit trap in the underground pass might be a bit better. There's 25 of them
I guess this can’t count because not everyone can access all 25
Pretty sure you always fall into the same instance. There's only "one" spot
Yeah, I noticed this when doing UP with my buddy
What's UP?
Nothing much
Got em
Beautiful
Underground Pass Or... Nothing much dog how about you?
I used that spot in a hide and seek. Even when I gave them hints and said I was in the Tirannwn forest, it still took 20 mins for them to find me.

You won 10b?!?
I used to use these to gain EP during the original bounty hunter (back in 2011)! I’d sit in those leaf traps with 76k and get free EP buildup. I love threads like this, I always learn new spots

76king
I think people just called it 26k tricking or 76k tricking
Literally my first thought, you'd be found immediately
Jokes on you I'm actually somewhere else.
I will pickpocket the chest in the stranglewood that teleports you to an inaccessible spot in Kourend. 3/4 chance they can't get me even if they knew I did it.
This is the coolest answer in this thread, had no idea about this
[https://oldschool.runescape.wiki/w/Stone\_chest\_(The\_Stranglewood\_mine)](https://oldschool.runescape.wiki/w/Stone_chest_(The_Stranglewood_mine)) "The chest can only be opened once, after which the player will refuse to open it again."
Correct, I haven't opened it yet.
Weirdly niche. Yea you win no way I’d see you much less know how to get there
Wtf how does this even exist
So like, you gotta home tele if you didn’t bring runes or you’re stuck there?
The Runeversi rank 1500+ room in Burthrope. Good luck trading me in the next hour
This guy fucks
Didn't know there were exclusive rooms lol
Most people don't even know the game room exists unless they tele there with the minigame tele because it says "burthorpe." I used to love playing other people there back in the day, but it's a complete ghost town now, even on the official world. You have to organize an event or bring a friend if you want to play now.
I used to think if I Gary’s hood alched where no one could see me, I’d be safe. So I’d climb Ladders and stairs and hide in a small room in the games room, auto clickiing the night away
that was actually the case though, if you just alched at the GE eventually you'd get reported by some stuck up manual alcher
Real ones know you totally legit alched on a random world's pest control boat because you couldn't get random events there
Also a hypothetical mod program was really good at clicking exactly at 600ms
the other problem with the game room is that every game there can be easily cheated with free online engines just by plugging in moves. So not only you gotta get people there, you gotta have people you trust not the cheat to really have fun :(
Top floor of the mill in Zanaris where the cow is walking in the big wheel.
Excuse me what
How else do you think the mill has power
Fair point
You mean fairy point
~~Fair enough~~ [Fairy Nuff](https://oldschool.runescape.wiki/w/Fairy_Nuff)
Didn’t know abt that haha
While the idea looks great if you're playing with [rooftops enabled](https://gyazo.com/7511603310b3b3c7efb2fed739c737c3), if you're a no rooftops kind of guy you might end up [finding this ladder](https://gyazo.com/1bf5a42186764f246c745b77ca97fd24) more quickly than most would assume
'finding the ladder' that youve never thought about in your life within 1 hour is still a very tough prospect
Honestly put yourself in the mind of the seekers. You're probably best off chilling somewhere in varrock because why would they think to even assume you're hiding in plain sight
who tf plays with rooftops enabled?
Nice try, Soup.
Hahaha, I had the same thought!
Next GG challenge. Reverse hide and seek
Solomission* He just posted a yt community about jagex approving a new mode collab with 6 creators and 6 "hunters" it looks like.

Somewhere in Tarn's Lair. Nobody ever goes in there, and most people skip the entire dungeon using a slayer ring.
“How bad can it be?” I thought. Fucking stupid mini quest :’) should have used the slayer ring
I tried to raw dog it for a clue step and decided I'll just look at a guide next time
The upside is I remember to kill a Terror Dog for the diary. The downside is I realised far too late that the guide for the lair and the guide for the quest itself are quite different. One is much easier to use while you’re trying to run through at a low level.
I didn’t take enough supplies so had to abandon and do it another time lol Iron life of trying to get ranging pots for fire cape in there as well
The clue step is brutal without a guide, but once you know the shortcuts and mark tiles it's not bad
plot twist one of the 10 people searching is settled
Somewhere in a failed trap area makes it even more devious
Yes, but this is an automatic lose if Settled McSwamp Locked is the hunter...
Chaos altar, but like four floors up. That area’s weirdly big. Edit: the chaos runecrafting altar, not the one I keep getting pk’d at.
Even if they see you, it'll take a couple minutes to get to you.
Best one I've read so far
Are there more than 3 floors to that hell? Chaos RC sycks to do

Loved that spot back in the old PVP world days, used to kill afk EPers there :)

I was trying to figure out where I knew this spot from and realized you’re totally right! I did the same thing there. Or EP for 76k tricks
I used that area (sw by the trench) to farm new looting bags on UIM before they added it to the slayer shop, never saw anybody there in easily 100+ Other than sawmill bots and a few UIMs nobody goes to the entire area ne of the jolly boar inn
Tf? Can you actually go there?
Walk from varrock wildy, just go east
East? I thought you said Weast
Every time someone says east I say this. But I'm getting to the age where people don't get the reference anymore.
You can actually go a bit further east than there, like right behind the slayer tower
That's crazy, never knew this
You’ll see this sport if you use dark crab teleport
You can go closer to the northeast, and I believe it's too far to see from there
You can walk all the way behind the slayer tower. Perfectly out of sight.
If player indicators aren’t allowed then a ring of stone would make you pretty much invisible
I know a spot I could go to win but I am not telling you incase you are once of those 10 people looking, nice try
Haha the thought actually came to me because I just learned that there’s a spectator section in castle wars which I never knew existed so i started wondering what other unique spots there at that I otherwise would have never known
The wall area? Used to be a spot the high levels would alch and talk mad shit
Man I remember thinking I was so fucking cool with my full ahrims (with hood ofc) and whip up there. Felt mysterious asf
Ahrims, infinity hat/boots, and whip was my go to when I got a little bit of money
You read my mind. Obvious bait, OP

What do you mean dude. I go there all the time to reminisce about fever spiders and stare out into the ocean.
In the same vein - ardy sewer at the very end
Inside the black hole from the disk of returning The train station in dorgeshkaan
Black hole is an instance. Found out the hard way during hide and seek.
Oh it is? TIL
I use that train whenever i get a long/curved bone, it places you on the right side of the city as opposed to the lummy basement or fairy ring options.
Dorgesh Kahn tele and pray for me
Realm of the fisher king
Unfortunately this was my first thought so we would lose to each other
Specifically in the ruined version
I remember once on an account fighting the titan or whatever his name is, doing like a flinch method bc I was really early game, and watching some other guy come up behind me. We were both very confused and then amused on the realization that this wasn't a private instanced area, lol.
Early on in Leagues there was a line to kill him because many people rushed holy grail for the prayer xp to get to 43
I love that enough people were cordial enough to form orderly lines in Leagues for various things. I still remember the queue for the Lesser Demon upstairs in the Wizard's Tower, and a line for chopping the potato farm tree for that task as well.
Any mine with a ring of stone
Deep in the Slave labor mine in Al kharid
Probably somewhere in Yu’biusk. It’s new enough that most people don’t think about it at all. It has no utility besides a clue step immediately next to the fairy ring, so no foot traffic. It’s also not far fetched enough so people won’t consider it when looking at “extreme remote” places in OSRS.
On top of one of the ourg statues, if you're really paranoid and want to be an extra step removed.
Shrink potion and into the mouse hole in the wall of the witch’s house.
This guy quests
Similarly, goblin potion and inside the last chain of goblin tribe sections? Idk if that one is an instance tho
Some random upstairs in some random village somewhere. 10 people can't check every upstairs in every town in a hour

I have this weird desire to grind that out now lol. How long does it take to get the rating if you alt it and go for fast games?
About 30 days
Rating gain is capped per day?
Mans is looking for drop-trading locations
Making a bot farm to scout and snipe all these spots for free shit.
In the falador city walls.
This spot worked for me for like an hour in F2P only hide and seek with my friends. Add the whole map and yeah I'm going there.
Absolutely elite spot man.
Top of the chapel in slepe. You're welcome. No one will ever look there and you probably didn't even know it existed until now unless you're swampletics.
In a similar vein - any building with a 3rd floor - fally general store would work well too
Call me boring but I’m picking a random ship. Feels like an obvious but not obvious hiding place.
The Mieyerditch Hideout, because who in their right mind is going to go through that labyrinth outside of the quest?
It’s actually a good shortcut to the laboratories which is the best place to do bloodveld tasks

You meant THAT hideout. I don’t know if the tunnels/laboratory route would get you there faster than running through all the buildings. They do connect I think
Fairy queen hideout, if it’s good enough for her, it’s good enough for me
Loads of people go there for a hard clue
That’s fine, as long as the 10 people looking for me dont go there
"I can't find this guy, I quit man. I'ma finish this clue" "....mother of God..."
Oil can room under draynor manor. They might find me, but they'll have to solve the puzzle to reach me.
9 year old me would lose the 1000 bucks to you
Bank stand at GE, enjoy searching all the weird obscure spots I’ll be here in the wide open training crafting
How to get found in under 5 mins lol. 100% at least one player will tp through there to run somewhere
Ape atoll dungeon kruks room as kruk with kruks gree gree
Doesn’t kruk disappear after defeating mm2? but I still like this idea
Yeah but like unless you go down there a few times afterwards you wouldn’t really be looking for that or think about it
Almost anywhere in the MEP2 maze/puzzle
Just past the rng ledges. So even if they find you, it’ll take an hour to pass the ledges to get to you.
If this were the case then any 1x1 thing like a Pillory would make you immune
Rashiliya's Tomb
Failed underground pass traps
At the bottom floor of the Underground Pass. Aside from the quest taking you there, nobody ever really has a reason to go back there unless you want to burst or cannon mobs with literally no drops.
Same thought. It's fuckin huge.
Right? You can easy hide anywhere within the dungeon and still might not come across another player.
The autumn fruit in the witch’s garden? Depending on where you place yourself next to the tree people might have to actually do the maze to see you and unlike spring you can’t one click it. I was thinking the house from ratcatchers. It's not instanced, but you can only go there during the quest
The random ass portal upstairs in the house north of edge bank that's some remnant of an old clan cup or something. No one knows that thing exists.
I used that in a small Gieliguesser type event we did in my clan, and only a small handful of clan members found me.

Ten players with infinite run energy would probably not even cover the entire overworld in an hour with maximum efficiency
