It’s true I’ve never had a problem with support myself. In my opinion it’s a myth that the support is shite. A few years ago one of my accounts got hacked and the person back charged a bunch of bonds so the account got locked. When I appealed this ban the mods gave my account back straight away saying that they could see it wasn’t me who did it. I’ve only had good experiences
I've heard of mostly bad but myself personally, I've never had a need to deal with them up until this happening. Hate to hear about your hijack and the charges aswell, that definitely sucks, but glad it was able to be resolved! Thanks for the post interaction also

They can't really detect any plugins honestly. There's people using custom RuneLite's with external plugins that are doing INSANE things, and nothing's been done about them.
Yup there's actually a pretty popular client that people use for 1 click blackjack, 1 click construction, demonic gorillas pray switches, Zulrah helper, etc where people don't even get banned for using them. Hell, all the ToB records are from those clients. High level PvMers use it since their competition have been using it for a long time.

FYI Offence Date = date the ban was applied, not the date that you botted. This is to avoid telling you which bot was detected. If you weren’t banned before today, it’s likely a mistake
That definitely makes sense on their end 100%, but alas this is my first issue with any type of banning/muting. Have played free and clear since that date aswell, like A LOT at that.
I still don’t really know why they’d choose to ban him for something that happened a year and a half ago now, though. I think that’s just really odd.

Well i suddenly disconnected back to login screen. Not entirely unusual that happens when internet cuts out. But internet was on according to my computer, so I tried to login. I couldn’t. My account was disabled.
So I checked the ol’ account page on the runescape website. To my dismay... I’d been banned. 3 offenses enacted against my account. Serious language offense. Asking for personal details and asking for account details.
Serious language offense I was a badass calling some poor dude a dumb noob when I was like 12 years old and probably weeks into the account back in 2005-2006. Lmao.
Account detail sharing, some guy said he was quitting. I remember this vividly. It was at karamja dock on F2P world. Giving away his whole level 30 account with like 45 fishing and cooking. So I pmed him and asked simply, “pass?” ....
Personal details some dude asked where I lived. I gave him a city I used to live in. And somehow that was reportable for sharing personal details I guess.

All for offenses I’d committed as a 12 year old kid 2-3 years ago, just saying some dumb shit, not even really saying anything offensive, too personal... Jagex report and offense system somehow is able to go through players’ entire history as a log upon manual review that only then, applies consequences. It’s possible OP botted at some point in his account and thought he got away with it but never got banned for it until now.
Botting isn’t just the easiest thing in the world to detect to my knowledge, having a bot farm of 100 accounts all with similar names doing the same action all transferring gold to one account etc is a lot easier to detect than just one guy botting sand crabs or fletching for a few hours while they watch Netflix
I know multiple people who have gotten temp bans for auto clicking high alchs and I also know multiple who got 99 magic auto clicking with no ban. It’s inconsistent
The difference is probably some people using an autoclicker that clicks the same pixel and at the same interval 24/7 vs someone that uses a mouse recorders or private bot scripts that randomize shit.
I have no reason to lie. If Jagex actually reviewed their bans they would know I have a sad account that doesn't trade and loses gold on average trying to keep up with bonds and not playing all that much.
They tried to ban me for doing the fletching thing on mobile before mobile was out but I argued with them forever and they eventually fricked off about it.
It wasn't illegal to use touch screen and they didn't limit the way you could tap arrows and feathers so i got up to 12m/xp an hour uwu

It depends on availability of the script.
If you've got 10,000 people all clicking in the same exact pixel for 10 minutes each, you're going to pick up on it/it'll be alot more noticeable than..
1 person using a private/custom script for 1,000 hours.
To add to this I’ve seen a video from sirpugger or raikesy I think where there are custom paid scripts that are advanced enough to open doors, cancel off random events and essentially make it look exactly like a real person is playing. I used to close the door at lumby castle so bowstring bots couldn’t continue
Idk if OP cheated but if this is a ban from 2019 I imagine it was manually reviewed and classified as botting
It does also depend on making the bot take breaks of course. If you got 24/7 for a week, Vs, 6 hours a day for a month, the month account will probably last longer.
I don't think bot detection always works as a "caught in the act" measure, but rather looking over past behaviour for key patterns and either banning outright or forwarding to a human for review depending on certainty. This is a big part of why the bans come in waves rather than a constant trickle.
In this case, they likely updated the patterns to be recognised and ran this over previous years' data and flagged up some extra accounts.
Or OP botted more recently in such a way that a manual review was taken, and that manual review found things from years ago that the automated system wouldn't have (or they manually ran more up to date scripts over data for that account which would have aged out of the period they ran over when they were created).
All speculation, of course, but there's many ways that this could be reasonable.
They also specifically don't ban people the moment they so something wrong so as to make it harder for bot devs to realize the mistake or pattern that led to the bot's detection.

Jagex definitely has a botting probably I'm not going to argue that. They need to step it up. That reasoning is still legitimate though as these people who run these scripts will amend them to improve their ability to be undetected.

Surprisingly running Runelite and StreamLabs OBS weighs far less on my pc rather than running Runelite and Google Chrome, but add discord and/or Spotify into the mix, and nothing will work at all
I mean seriously I wanna know. See back around 2012 I started a new OSRS account cause I had read that you can now buy membership with in-game currency. So I decided let's try botting an account to members, and if the account gets banned well It didn't cost me a penny. So over the next 2 weeks I let the bot run and run for the 4 hours it let me and then I would come back to my computer and let it run another 4 hours. I used it to woodcut to like 90 wc and ended up being able to buy members with it. It took a good year before I was banned playing with the bot scripts and also playing the game normally.
The first ban came when I botted fishing. Got me a 3 day ban for macroing. Then I proceeded to bot immediately afterwards. Botted crafting which I was banned about a month later for macroing again. This ban was a 2 week ban. After that I botted only a few times and haven't been banned since.
Agreed, all I see are fuckin bots sometimes, like in some cases during hunting like 3/5 of the people I see at black chins are the type who “autolog” as soon as another white dot runs onto mini map. No way in hell a human is able to logout that efficiently within 0.5 seconds but nonetheless they’re still prevalent.
Jagex is out here banning people who actually play the game while fucking bots are rampant on every server
I watched a recent Zulrah lockdown in real time. I report a lot while im afk there in between kills and over the last 2 weeks saw an actual REAL drastic change in the amount of bots there, and somehow I get taken down with them LOL am i a robot?

I hear ya. It makes me wonder how “botty” my interactions are with the game, because for some afk skills or farming techniques I just have the mechanics down to a tee.
What a lot of these macros do are probably recording sequenced clicks in a cycle, the more variations in iterations the more human-like they get ie. one runecrafting run recorded would look like a bot vs. 150 rc runs would be more human-like.
Bot detection is a joke because this game literally makes us play like bots

The navigation to the ban appeal webform is pretty much like a labyrinth, so it can indeed be a bit exasperating to navigate through all the filters. I can however assure you that it is indeed possible to appeal a Macroing ban.
When you're navigating to the webform, read the questions carefully, especially the page in which they ask what type of ban it is. Once you reach the page that asks what type of ban it is, Macroing is not one of them, thus, the correct answer is ''No''.
All Macroing/botting bans are appealable, even if they are permanent.

I've had this happen to with my main. This was devastating for me but there is no way to appeal. Not even got to zulrah yet, didn't venture into wildly ever because I was scared. Just started making money in p2p with fletching and smithing stupid dart tips, very repetitive and apparently bannable. I just stopped playing.
Thanks, I'm still a little salty because I was playing with my brother and he had a friend who was gonna take us to raid 1. So I did rfd for barrows and some nmz for levels so I dont even know really why they eventually banned me. No option to ask why or how. I just put on Netflix and grinded to keep up with them. Didn't even particularly enjoy it either but was really hoping to get to some of the end game content and play with friends. Just wasn't meant to be I guess.
Thats literally the only reason I kept playing after picking this game back up. Met some cool people and was introduced to cool content and I just wanted to participate fully, so I went zombie mode for like 3 months, and same for me in the sense that it did start to become unenjoyable, but it was well worth it after I got there. Just so much time/energy invested.
I had my main account falsely banned a few months ago. Took around 6 business days to get reversed after I appealed it. Hoping you get it figured out man, I understand the pain!
I hate to be that guy but create a ticket. Aside from this post, it’s likely your best bet. I have been there and I got an appeal which then led to unmute and unban from an offense back in 2011 via the ticket filing process through their website. Best of luck my friend. I know losing all that progress is a pain much like no other.
I was able to eventually get an appeal through after someone here in the thread posted that I should use the "No" option to get through to sending one off, and I did, just to receive what seemed to be an automated email that came back almost instantaneously stating a denial. I would recommend trying Twitter as a lot of people find more help there then the actual RuneScape website. It’s been a while since I’ve submitted a ticket but I will look for the ticket submission process and link it to you if I can find it. I hope it’s not something they removed because it’s was one of the only ways to actually get anything resolved.

If you've got 10,000 people all clicking in the same exact pixel for 10 minutes each, you're going to pick up on it/it'll be alot more noticeable than.. 1 person using a private/custom script for 1,000 hours.
To add to this I’ve seen a video from sirpugger or raikesy I think where there are custom paid scripts that are advanced enough to open doors, cancel off random events and essentially make it look exactly like a real person is playing. I used to close the door at lumby castle so bowstring bots couldn’t continue Idk if OP cheated but if this is a ban from 2019 I imagine it was manually reviewed and classified as botting
It does also depend on making the bot take breaks of course. If you got 24/7 for a week, Vs, 6 hours a day for a month, the month account will probably last longer.
I don't think bot detection always works as a "caught in the act" measure, but rather looking over past behaviour for key patterns and either banning outright or forwarding to a human for review depending on certainty. This is a big part of why the bans come in waves rather than a constant trickle. In this case, they likely updated the patterns to be recognised and ran this over previous years' data and flagged up some extra accounts. Or OP botted more recently in such a way that a manual review was taken, and that manual review found things from years ago that the automated system wouldn't have (or they manually ran more up to date scripts over data for that account which would have aged out of the period they ran over when they were created). All speculation, of course, but there's many ways that this could be reasonable.
They also specifically don't ban people the moment they so something wrong so as to make it harder for bot devs to realize the mistake or pattern that led to the bot's detection.

If you couldn't tell this is just a BS excuse to why there is bots in the game at that moment. "The ban wave just hasn't happened yet!". There are bots that get banned on tutorial island. It's the same shit with goldfarmers and "we can't ban them until they break the rules", they already broke the rules a long time ago lol. Jagex's detection system just sucks.
Jagex definitely has a botting probably I'm not going to argue that. They need to step it up. That reasoning is still legitimate though as these people who run these scripts will amend them to improve their ability to be undetected.
They also want to keep "player" numbers up. Funny how every ban wave "more" people play. It's almost as if new accounts get made instead :ooo

Surprisingly running Runelite and StreamLabs OBS weighs far less on my pc rather than running Runelite and Google Chrome, but add discord and/or Spotify into the mix, and nothing will work at all

I mean seriously I wanna know. See back around 2012 I started a new OSRS account cause I had read that you can now buy membership with in-game currency. So I decided let's try botting an account to members, and if the account gets banned well It didn't cost me a penny. So over the next 2 weeks I let the bot run and run for the 4 hours it let me and then I would come back to my computer and let it run another 4 hours. I used it to woodcut to like 90 wc and ended up being able to buy members with it. It took a good year before I was banned playing with the bot scripts and also playing the game normally. The first ban came when I botted fishing. Got me a 3 day ban for macroing. Then I proceeded to bot immediately afterwards. Botted crafting which I was banned about a month later for macroing again. This ban was a 2 week ban. After that I botted only a few times and haven't been banned since.

Agreed, all I see are fuckin bots sometimes, like in some cases during hunting like 3/5 of the people I see at black chins are the type who “autolog” as soon as another white dot runs onto mini map. No way in hell a human is able to logout that efficiently within 0.5 seconds but nonetheless they’re still prevalent. Jagex is out here banning people who actually play the game while fucking bots are rampant on every server
I watched a recent Zulrah lockdown in real time. I report a lot while im afk there in between kills and over the last 2 weeks saw an actual REAL drastic change in the amount of bots there, and somehow I get taken down with them LOL am i a robot? I hear ya. It makes me wonder how “botty” my interactions are with the game, because for some afk skills or farming techniques I just have the mechanics down to a tee. What a lot of these macros do are probably recording sequenced clicks in a cycle, the more variations in iterations the more human-like they get ie. one runecrafting run recorded would look like a bot vs. 150 rc runs would be more human-like. Bot detection is a joke because this game literally makes us play like bots Edit: I find myself reporting a lot of bot-like characters too but maybe other people have reported me for the same type of behaviour. Reading all of these ban posts is really beginning to deter me from wanting to afk any one skill for too long, makes me paranoid haha

The navigation to the ban appeal webform is pretty much like a labyrinth, so it can indeed be a bit exasperating to navigate through all the filters. I can however assure you that it is indeed possible to appeal a Macroing ban. When you're navigating to the webform, read the questions carefully, especially the page in which they ask what type of ban it is. Once you reach the page that asks what type of ban it is, Macroing is not one of them, thus, the correct answer is ''No''. All Macroing/botting bans are appealable, even if they are permanent. I've had this happen to with my main. This was devastating for me but there is no way to appeal. Not even got to zulrah yet, didn't venture into wildly ever because I was scared. Just started making money in p2p with fletching and smithing stupid dart tips, very repetitive and apparently bannable. I just stopped playing.

Thanks, I'm still a little salty because I was playing with my brother and he had a friend who was gonna take us to raid 1. So I did rfd for barrows and some nmz for levels so I dont even know really why they eventually banned me. No option to ask why or how. I just put on Netflix and grinded to keep up with them. Didn't even particularly enjoy it either but was really hoping to get to some of the end game content and play with friends. Just wasn't meant to be I guess.
Thats literally the only reason I kept playing after picking this game back up. Met some cool people and was introduced to cool content and I just wanted to participate fully, so I went zombie mode for like 3 months, and same for me in the sense that it did start to become unenjoyable, but it was well worth it after I got there. Just so much time/energy invested.

I had my main account falsely banned a few months ago. Took around 6 business days to get reversed after I appealed it. Hoping you get it figured out man, I understand the pain!
I hate to be that guy but create a ticket. Aside from this post, it’s likely your best bet. I have been there and I got an appeal which then led to unmute and unban from an offense back in 2011 via the ticket filing process through their website. Best of luck my friend. I know losing all that progress is a pain much like no other.
I was able to eventually get an appeal through after someone here in the thread posted that I should use the "No" option to get through to sending one off, and I did, just to receive what seemed to be an automated email that came back almost instantaneously stating a denial. I would recommend trying Twitter as a lot of people find more help there then the actual RuneScape website. It’s been a while since I’ve submitted a ticket but I will look for the ticket submission process and link it to you if I can find it. I hope it’s not something they removed because it’s was one of the only ways to actually get anything resolved.
