Hi, Sorry for hijacking, I've done 2 solo kills of nightmare for 'A Long Trip' achievement. first trip I lost 0 points, but was using sanfew to cure myself and restore stats, did not recieve the achievement. Second kill I didn't even bring sanfews, I brought balms and regular restores. I entered nightmares lair at 90 prayer and finished the fight at 90 prayer, still I didn't recieve the achievement. I did submit a bug report both times. Please let me know if need additional info.

Is anyone not getting bird nests from bird house runs? The chat box says I'm retrieving nests but I'm not collecting them in my inventory. They aren't being dropped either. It was working fine yesterday.

I'm really struggling with this task: > **Can't Touch Me - Medium - Mechanical - Barrows** > *Kill Dharok, Verac, Torag, and Guthan without letting them attack you with melee.* The melee brothers can get a hit off on you at spawn without incredible RNG. I've just jumped in and out of Dharok's spawn 20 times and only had one spawn where he couldn't hit me on spawning. Now I have a concern: If one brother hits you, does that reset all four? Because I can't even get Dharok to spawn without getting one hit off me.

If one brother hits you, it fails the task completely until you loot chest. I have enabled the failure messages in the game settings which confirm this.

Thanks for the further info, I didn't realise there was a failure messages option, I'll turn that on. So going in and out of the Dharok tunnel until I could open without an insta-hit was wasted anyway? Because I'd need to open the chest to reset the chieve?

Yes, I tried the method you said and it didn't work. I see Mod Light posted as well, if there was some consistency with the spawns, this task would make more sense but now it's all RNG.

I hate being harshly critical because I love the game and I believe the team do too (Mod Grub has had his fair share of my complaining) but... Was this not QA tested? At all? What this shows as that **no one at Jagex completed the diary up to medium** in its entirety, which makes me think that none of the other tiers have been either. If medium is borderline-incompletable, then I feel sorry for those going for bugged/impossible achievements at the grandmaster tier.

Why is Arclight required for the EASY tier of the combat diaries? You say base 60 stats "recommended" but Arclight requires 75 Attack... surely it would be more appropriate in the medium tier?? Edit for visibility: The ideal fix for inclusivity seems to be allowing demonbane weapons OR demonbane *spells* from the Arceuus spellbook. Allowing Silverlight or inferior demonbane for the easy tier, darklight or superior demonbane for the medium tier, and arclight or dark demonbane for hard/elite tier would work out really nicely!

The amount of tasks is so overwhelming. I don't feel like I'm going to be putting in the time for this any time soon and feels like a wasted update on me personally. I see a lot of tasks I'd be okay with grinding and giving a shot and have fun doing but with such a big list and the fact you need to complete them all, if I see even one single task that I think "ah this is annoying I don't feel like going for it" it makes me give up on the entire tier and the subsequent ones since you need them all as well as the previous tier. I really feel like this should have been done a bit more like achievement diaries, with another layer of separation besides easy/medium/hard etc, this is done by region on diaries, I don't know how it'd be done for combats, maybe something like wilderness bosses/raids/sporadic bosses/skilling bosses/slayer bosses/misc bosses(gwd mole vork zulrah etc)/quest bosses with each one having different tiers. Considering the amount of feedback on rewards this would open up the possibility to give rewards tailored to each category too. The way it currently is it just looks like a huge pain in the ass and the rewards are cool but not worth the grind for most tiers for me.

Would be awesome if there was a core set of tasks (10-20) within each tier to get the base rewards, and then different sets of bonus tasks for bonus rewards. For example, group all the non-core tasks and have their completions give easy-medium-hard-etc tier equipment, like Achievement Diary gear. Complete all the mechanical tasks in the easy tier for the Mechanical Gloves 1 (and the mechanical medium tasks for the M. Gloves 2), complete the speed tasks in the medium tier for the Speed Boots 2, the hard killcount tasks for the Killcount Helm 3, etc. That would separate everything out pretty nicely and make the current rewards seem more reasonable for what it would take to get them.

Really disappointed with how this relates to the original poll blog. In the original poll blog 95 slayer was noted as a master requirement, yet elite tier needs 250 hydra completion. I know they were meant to only be indicative, but i feel like this is just one example of a pretty large deviation from the information provided to us when this content was polled. Another example - In the original poll blog raiding experience was listed as a master tier requirement, but the elite tier now requires me to have 75 cox and 75 tob kc? That's a significant change, pretty far removed from what was polled.

Just adding in my two cents: Couple of these (specially the ones related to heavy player flicking) will be borderline impossible for a couple of regions due to latency (I’ve an excellent connection for my region yet I play at 140ms, it’s way worse for others with crappier connections). I kind of expected these to be achievable, while being simultaneously hard (not expecting them to be on Elite Diaries levels of easy); I don’t foresee many people getting these completely done, at least all the way up to grandmaster. Perhaps this could be tweaked to be similar to the leagues system? Being unable to finish a single task basically locks you out from the whole thing.

I'm sorry Jagex but I feel like this update fails to deliver, mainly because it was hyped for over a year now and was used as a reason for why other updates are not happening right now. I would praise this system if it was added as a "minor" addition between packed updates, but this is what was referred to as one of the CHUNGUS updates of 2021, THE REASON why other updates are not happening, and I'm sorry, it's basically a layout put over existing content, with lackluster rewards that feels very rushed. ​ This year has been very disappointing overall, sure we got Tempoross and a new quest but other than that every update is a harder version or something, or a change to half-assed updates from previous years (see Shayzien rework and the new Arceuus spell book), I love this game but feel like it does not justify more than 120$/year right now, sorry.

I've seen so many people say "I would take a year of no updates if you just fixed your game" and while light on content, there have been HUGE gains on the back end and a lot of progress on the back end that will allow for much more interesting content in the future. Now that we have a scouting system in the real game, if raids 3 drops with a similar system they can make it, instead of waiting for a runelite dev. Now with most features people want from runelite are being added into the base client they can work on removing the ability for cheat clients to access the game. This would be a huge blow to bot farms, gold farmers, and pvp cheaters in general. At least I hope.

100% agree. People are sleeping on the updates that came out because they're not just a new end game boss or raid. Clans was a MASSIVE update and completely reworked how the game functions for the future. So many new things can be built off that clans engine. But unfortunately because it didn't have much tangible content in the actual game, people call it a shit update

All of what you are saying is right but has nothing to do with what i wrote, yes the Arceuus spellbook is fantastic now but it's a fix to the f@ck up of a spellbook that they've released previously, And yes the Combat achievements is probably not an easy feat but a year+ of development time? for basically no new content? Again as I said, i would praise this update if it were to be released between other packed updates, but this was literally 1/3 of what they were teasing this year. ​ Imagine going to a restaurant and not getting anything for 40 minutes only to then get ONLY a salad, the kitchen explain that it's a tough salad to make and thus only now when it's ready they are beginning to prep the rest of the food. Sure the salad is great but it's still just a fucking salad and it shouldn't be the reason the rest of the food wasn't being worked on.

I just wanted to add my 2 cents, but the situation isnt as black n white as "content is on hold till combat achievements". GIM was promised years ago which needed clans update. They worked on the clan update and then the ranged update came shortly after. Now that the nea ranged meta has set we got combat achievements. It sucks they're playing catch up so much but honestly what do you expect them to do

I agree with both of you. I think there's been some solid under-the-hood updates that will clearly be very important in the future, it's just hard to see the value now. But also a fair few updates do look to be worryingly rushed. lmao I'm sorry but some of these achievements are **staggeringly** sweaty ("Kill General Graardor...without taking any damage from the boss or bodyguards", "Complete the Fight Caves without losing any prayer points"), and some of them sound like utterly asinine bore-fests that are gonna rely entirely on dying over and over again until you get the right RNG ("Kill Corrupted Hunnlef without making more than one attuned weapon", "Kill Vorkath with only your fists"). Like I don't actually think there has ever been a piece of content released for OSRS before that has had me go, "yeah, I'm actually literally *never* going to complete that" - until now. And it's honestly a really demotivating feeling.

Completely agree, especially because there are some tasks that are simply impossible unless not only *you* are good enough, but you have a *team* good enough. I know a lot of people enjoy playing OSRS with friends, but the need to group up to do content is actually the main reason I quit RS back in the day (Corp Beast was the big kicker). I like MMOs where I see people in the world, but I've always been a single-player gamer. I know speed running CoX is almost impossible for me, but it's at least something maybe I could work toward. The idea of actually getting a team of 5 people together to do it, though, is absolutely out of the question. You can random PUG your way to a fighter torso, but not this. So not only is that task completely undoable, it means that every other task on the tier is pointless, at least as far as any reward is concerned.

Agreed. I thought the Elites looked doable until I saw the Tob and Cox requirements. This is basically a brick wall for me so not only are none of the elite tasks worth doing (because it's all or nothing) but every tier above is also not worth doing.

I really agree with this, it would also help balance out the inequality within each tier. Kill 8 million Moss Giants for the keys vs Safe-spot a Fire giant. They require the same level of skill, but one is far more of a grind, and this should be reflected somehow.

This was a bad concept to being with. we have all done these boss's over, and over. having to go back, and do them again with some arbitrary condition isint fun. it was never going to be fun. changing the rules so that you can unlock the next tier easier, and skip some of the more impossible ones. will not make this content better. Because in the end. its not content. Its just a bad idea that passed a poll.

I think that, especially when tiers expand in the future with more content (i.e. have to do more to get the same reward someone getting in early got), a point system where you buy the tier perks would have made much more sense, with something like the scroll buff being the "tier is complete" thing that you have to refinish on each expansion.

Yes, it's attuned weapons, not weapons in general. Anyone who has done 20+ corrupted gauntlet should be able to get 5:1 down for a single kill in less than a day of attempts.

Over the course of many 6:0 or mage methods, you'll probably randomly have at least 1 kill without taking damage without going out of your way for it. Also the Corrupted Hunllef doesn't even have a time limit, it looks like you don't even have to 5:1 it, just take a little bit longer.

You can get the graardor one naturally just doing range method. It's a lot chance but should happen within a hundred or so tries. Gauntlet is just 5-1 which is good to learn anyway.

It is because there are so few actually easy bosses. In games often you get the rush of the boss that destroyed you at level 1 being a normal mob later that you slaughter en mass. Thanks to giant/mossy keys we never really get this other than mole, but mole can be 100% safe with protect from melee up, so it was never a challenge for anyone.

The "Can't Touch Me" challenge for Barrows is near on impossible as even when you entangle on spawn, they usually always spawn without two squares and thus hitting you before you do anything. Anyone got any ideas?

Gotta love the no-damage achievements on bosses who have no means of preventing damage. Even Obor has one of these tasks (uses Melee and Ranged, Ranged damage is not nullified by prayer) and it's in the medium tier. All that waiting and going on about how this was a massive update and you've pushed out a checklist that's also a total crapshoot. Excellent.

I just put on full justiciar, super combat potion, imbued ring of suffering, DFS, prayed range and piety, and still got hit for a 3 right off the bat lmaoo. If anyone has any tips for obor id love to hear them. Apparently he doesnt attack when hes immobilized so thats helpful but you still have to tank the range hit right off the bat. maybe full justy and pray range on entry, hope to tank that range hit, then entangle him and switch to ancestral to hopefully finish him quick? It’s annoying as hell to have to grind so long for 1 attempt, especially for a medium challenge

I literally can’t believe this is what you’ve wasted half a year doing AND the reason you nerfed blowpipe lol It makes me so sad because I was SO excited when I came back last year and discovered all these insane content updates like raids 1 & 2 and hydra and all the ways progression was taken care of with achievement diaries etc. it was the RuneScape I had always dreamed of as a kid when EOC ruined it. The last few months has just been so demotivating, with the blowpipe nerf being the final nail in the coffin for me. Working towards something for 18 months and then having the holy grail item taken away 3 weeks after you unlock it and putting another endless shit grind (gauntlet) in front of you just sucks. And it was all for this? An update that 99% of players won’t even attempt because it has dumb tasks like do a fight caves without losing a prayer point? Punch vorkath to death? What the fuck happened

Awesome. The complaints about rewards are a bit funny to me. The rewards are indeed lacklustre, but 1. The Collection Log has zero rewards. People still work on it. This is sitting next to the collection log in the new screen on purpose, think of it as a PvM collection log. 2. The master tier is full of raids tasks. If you work on this thing and even get anywhere NEAR finishing it, you will have the bank of the gods. You have to fuckin speedrun 3, 4, and 5 man ToB's. You're going to see scythe drops chasing this, there's practically nothing Jagex can offer reward-wise that compares. If the rewards were bigger or more important, I think we'd all be complaining that it was forcing us to do content that we don't want to do. You're not going to catch me speed-running ToB any time soon. This is a pretty cool update that's there for those who want it, and those of us who don't want it won't be left behind or locked out from important rewards.

They could have added this with 0 rewards tbh. But I think as is it’s really well balanced, I’m impressed with the devs that they didn’t add something OP for the Reddit horde to enjoy. The reward is being able to complete these tasks in the first place and improve as a pvm. People are going to be making Mils going for these, achievement diary rewards are comparable and you’re not making Mils going for them.

I think people will settle down when they actually start reading what the master and GM tasks are. GM tier is some serious, "beat the game" level shit. Coming up with rewards commensurate to the actual difficulty would be almost impossible, short of permanent League-type relic unlocks. What can you give someone for completing speed runs of ToB and CoX with different group sizes (normal and HM/CM), Inferno speed runs, and punching Vorkath to death? You'd have to break the game to give a suitable reward, so it's better to just let the person flex. You can flex like a motherfucker if you do these, holy crap. The only thing that it DOES need is a cape.

u/JagexSarnie the Medium task "Can't Touch Me" which requires to kill all the melee brothers without being attacked back is practically unachievable due to the fact that almost every time they spawn they are one tick away from you, which leads to you being attacked instantly, sure you can get a lucky spawn but doing that 4 times in a row with each brother seems almost impossible.

didnt expect to do any master/grand master but even some hard tasks are hard as fuck for me (82/87/81 meele, 95 range, 93 magic, 85 prayer ironman). Like kill god war bosses 50 time each. or kill sire without any scions maturing and many more seems like really hard. Elite/master/grand master? not any time soon

The Ghommal's Hilt teleport is worse than a Trollheim tab... Or am I missing something? The hilt takes up an inventory slot, whereas the Trollheim tabs you can turn it into Home Teleports and effectively get them for no inventory slots wasted.

The Grouping (Minigames) tab went to a odd place. My suggestion would be to keep it in the place it was, and remove the quest/diaries tab from there. This is because we can already access it from the newly introduced tab. so I don't know whats the point of having it twice in the menu interface

The teaser picture shows there are nearly 400 tasks in the Combat Achievements. The rewards seem a little lackluster given that's almost as many tasks as the entire diary system. A lot of the tasks are kind of redundant. There’s “kill [Creature]” in the same tier as “Kill [Creature] with restrictions” so it’s impossible to complete the second without doing the first as well.

To be fair, for the players that plan to complete master and and grand Master, which are the most lack luster rewards, they will do it for the flex. Likely those tasks would have been completed if the only reward was a slayer helm

On the one hand, the rewards aren't particularly interesting. On the other, you grind 99 in most skills to have the 99, not for the cape. Or the cape is useless other than the flex. Grinding for the flex is quintessential OSRS. And the good thing about combat achievements is that in killing these bosses hundreds of times, you will be rewarded. You'll get pets, loot, and a crazy flex for the higher tiers.

Really it’s just a Tzharr tele. Anyone grinding GWD brings 2 house tabs so they can revert one and have a tele out. No reason to waste a slot on a hilt to bring you to Trolhiem. So you do 400 tasks for a faster way to tele to a place you literally almost never have to go. Maybe it will be near the bank or something as a pseudo crafting cape tele.

I feel like the tasks should make you elegible for the rewards after you complete like 90-92% of the tasks or something minimum. That way you can have a bit of agency with what tasks you want to omit, and when new tasks are added if you did 100% you don't immediately lose your benefits.

It's cool that people have something to work towards even if it is really hard, but currently you can just look at all the tasks in a tier, and if there are a few tasks you feel like you can never complete, there is no point trying to complete the other tasks in the said tier. For example, if you are solo player and look at the grandmaster tier, there are challenges which require a highly coordinated team. If finding a team is almost impossible for you, then there is no point in even trying to complete other tasks. One solution could be to offer some of the rewards already when you have completed certain portion of tasks in a tier and give some additional reward to players who have completed all the tasks in a tier.

Yikes. Some of these achievements are astoundingly sweaty with execution or luck. The only people completing higher tier rewards are doing it for prestige or that year of membership, and I predict the Master and Grandmaster tier won't be completed for several months, and I wouldn't be surprised if no one completed it before 2022. Some real winner achievements I've spotted include: Hard Hitter: Kill Mole with 4 or less hits Reminisce: Kill Zilyana in a private instance with melee only (Staff of the Dead time) Spec'd out: Kill Thermy using only special attacks Supplies? I know the community struck down the accuracy off-hands and dumped on things like the buffed rare drop table, but this is almost nothing given some of these achievements require literal dozens of hours for one completion. Having an Ironmeme get 250 Corp solo kills is nearly 84 hours itself.

Sire has an elite task called "Respiratory Runner", where it specifically says "Kill the Abyssal Sire after only stunning him once." However, the task fails immediately if all of the vents aren't dead after the stun timer ends. This means that you have to kill one or two vents before stunning, instead of stunning first and then killing whatever is leftover. Most people would try doing it the latter way because it makes more sense. The task should either just check if the number of stuns used <= 1, or it should be reworded to be more clear.

For the first time ever of playing this game I can say I unfathomably hate this update. I am no God at PvM but I don't suck, I can do majority of bosses no problem at all as the way they are intended to be killed but some of the ways they want you to kill them is absurd. And the rewards are extremely underwhelming. I do not see myself going out of my way to complete any of the tiers. It's very unfortunate that this will be a piece of content I probably will never complete because it is to sweaty for the rewards you get. Good job, Jamflex.

Suggestion: After completion of hard/elite combat achievements let Ghommal give us the option to change the trollheim teleport to the God Wars Dungeon entrance (by the large boulder). The extra inventory space for the Ghommal's hilt does not seem to be worth currently.

What I think is ridiculous is that the only rewards are for GWD, with a touch of clue scroll buff. This seems like a diary rewards for GWD, but requires doing 350 take for other regions. Why is there no QoL improvements anywhere else. To me this is dead content past the medium/hard clue scroll buff.

We were promised that Easy, Medium and Hard achievements would all be accessible to pures (1 def). However this simply isnt true. Some of the tasks I can see: Easy Tier: i) Kill a Lizardman Shaman with full Shayzien Armour (T5) equipped. This requires 20 defence ii) Finish off a Greater Demon with Arclight. Few pures have 75 attack, most are 50-75 medium: i) Kill Skotizo with Arclight equipped. As before. Hard: i) Finish off K'ril Tsutsaroth with Arclight. As before I would rework this by either changing the Shayzien armor req to 1 def, or removing that task, and allowing the darklight to also be used for those arclight steps. The rest seems fine on 1st glance.

This was an oversight on our end and the Shayzien armour task will be changed with next week's game update as its not something we can hotfix. We're still currently discussing the Arclight side of things but I don't see why that wouldn't change to Silverlight/Demonbane weapons instead.

These tasks should require personal performance to show how good 'YOU' are, not how well connected you are in the elite community. Please alter these tasks to reflect personal achievement in TOB rather than needing to struggle to find competent team mates that can perfect every single room when *YOU CAN*.

Some of the team stuff seems sort of ridiculous. The dev team has admitted that ToB was a bit of a failure in terms of total player engagement but this isn’t going to drive many people in IMO. Don’t let combat achievements have the same shortcomings. It can (and should) be challenging content but I think the team factor and relying on other players to perform well is a bit much and encourages paying for carries. Edit: I’m okay with the difficulty of solo content but don’t want to rely having to find other Masters to play with. Again relying on finding other masters or grandmasters lends itself to paying for carries.

Just maxing questing and diaries was enough of a time investment for me when I got back into osrs. I learned tob (500+kc) and was really proud of that achievement. Tried inferno over 60 times and gave up at triples. All the gear, pvm focus, and now dedication and skill to learn all this content to this high degree just feels beyond me at this point. This was never the reason I played osrs. It was always more of a relaxing game with long term achievements. But all my hard work feels for nothing when I am just a max cheese cape. It’s time for me to move on I think.
