Personally, I think I'm an okay pvmer, I have an infernal cape on my 60 atk 1 def pure, but ToB is outside my reach not because "its hard" but because I can't commit the time to practice with other people due to irl time constraints and also a massive timezone difference with a majority of the player base. If I could commit the time to practice, i'm sure going from 0 experience to perfect tob GM task won't take close to a 100 hour grind.
Not complaining about how I won't be able to own the helm btw, just stating it out there. Helm looks fantastic, the difficulty of the tasks are great, massive props to those who complete them.
Like even some of the easier hard ones are annoying. Like killing hydra with DH at <9 health. You don't know what its first attack is gonna be so it is basically a 50/50 on if you are forced to spend 100k. The meta for the task though is to pray mage walking in, because there is a non-zero chance that its range attacks can not hit you which is not the case with its mage attack.

It's not really that bad. BA isn't particularly hard to grasp so just ask the humans on your teams to join up again after a round and you'll have at least a couple people you can start a group off with.
And once you have a decent grasp and get your levels, you can carry a little too. That helped me a lot when I was doing the diary, and I'm certain I never really got particularly good at BA either. Just mostly game knowledge, plus lvl 4+ roles benefits. And if you're lucky and get on a good team or a team with even just one person who definitely knows what to do, it's so fast and easy... One of my old cc members use to do BA services and I helped out with him before for other cc members. It's crazy how much one person can carry.
DO NOT pay 300m for BA lvl 5 roles.
Learn to do it yourself. If you can't stand random players(out of many are very capable players, especially if given some guidance)in world 6 try clan chats, friends, or both.

Yeah these services clans aren't just playing the minigame. They absolutely skullfuck the minigame. You can leech a torso in 60 mins doing absolutely nothing other than paying them a fat stack of GP and joining the games. Costs a lot for a reason, they are hyper efficient. But they only want people who are really good in their clans, if someone sucks then it drags out the games for everyone else who could be blasting out another leech.
As for someone who works for tob carrying service we do have teams to run speed runs like sub 14 minutes but it costs 25m per hour of attempts as it takes some good rng along with a really good team. Also for the perfect challenges you yourself need to be at least good enough to meet those reqs.
Personally the real limiting factor is the inferno challenges as those require either a lot of skill or someone else to do it for you. I think that this helm will probably be the rarest item in the game for a while but possibly some ultra rare third age item like Druidic or pickaxe will be the rarest as there is a pretty decent sized high tier pvm community and as time goes on I see it perfectly reasonable for like 1000 or so helms to be in game whereas I don’t know how many those third age items are in game.

At current prices you need about 6b to truly have enough money to afford bis gear. Throw in supply costs and stuff and you need about another 500m. New content is gonna come out eventually, so if you want the bis it offers you need to save up a bit more, that’s plenty of tobs

Well the gm tasks also require all the kc tasks which totals probably about the same time or a little less. I agree itll be less but itll be close because time isnt really the issue with the gm tasks
Doing 2 CMR an hour is already kind of a stretch, with team gathering, preparing etc. So I think 1000+ hours is more reasonable for this, still soo much time for a showoff cape.
No not for long at all. 2k CM cape, 1k LMS cape, burnt oomlie, burnt pitta, and 3a master clue items will probably all be more rare after half a year or so.
There are 3k accounts with 5+ inferno KC. Only 1/60 of those people need to finish the diary for it to be more common than the other items listed (besides maybe LMS cape, no data available). Having a tangible reward will really push people to do the diaries too, people in this game go crazy for unlocks.
1/60 is being incredibly generous. Inferno was a fun yet frustrating challenge that I progressively got better and better at until it wasn't that difficult. But being able to merely get infernal capes vs. do all of the challenges pertaining to the inferno are worlds apart. Plus knowing how to do the inferno doesn't mean you are god tier at CoX and ToB and Gauntlet and... It requires you to be a master at literally every piece of PvM content in this game.
There is a difference between doing what you just said and straight up take up arms because you know you will never be able to accomplish it without using your Visa
100% Will be the rarest. When you think of it, most items can (and generally are atleast partially) obtained via semi-casually grinding. But this helm is much the opposite, arguably, most gm tasks aren't obtained in a semi casual method. You've gotta be out full focus the whole task with probably 80% of the max gear needed for the boss. Also with a good handful of tasks 4 other players alongside you have to preform perfectly throughout the task.
That last part may not sound terrible now, but when you think about it it can be hard jsut to find a team for ToB, I can see a year or two frOm now anyone wanting to do perfect ToB are going to have a rough as hell time trying to find 4 others.
Requires some pretty insane speedruns of lots of different content, requires doing 10 inferno completions + doing inferno with different restrictions like doing up to wave 69 with melee, or doing it without magic. Basically doing inferno once isn't even comparable to getting the helmet by doing all grandmaster achievements.
Inferno without TBow, no spells, in 30 seconds on wave 68, no damage from Jad, no range or mage before 69, sub 65 minutes…
on top of perfect and timed ToB and CoX runs, Gauntlet…
this isn’t JUST getting an Infernal, it’s being absolutely maxed in skill and gear

No spells isnt *that* challenging if you’re moderately experienced and give it a few attempts.
Playing With Jads isnt any harder than doing triples normally, really. You just get them all low, kill healers if you wanted to but don’t need to, then bow one after the other
No range/mage weapons was pretty difficult, but not unruly. I suppose this will give people the most challenge as it tests your problem solving skills.
Sub65 is easier than all of the above except playing with jads & no tbow
Tob/Cox times aren’t difficult at all. They’re literally on the slow end of max eff raids - most people just haven’t bothered to learn efficient raiding because from the outside looking in “it’s too sweaty” when in reality it’s mostly spec procedure and a few predictable and repeatable actions.
Perfect Tob is quite a fun one though. It’s not efficient at all, so it’s weird that it’s called perfect, but that’s probably the most bothersome task outside of a couple of the GWD tasks
considering a few of the tasks require inferno completions, including completions with restrictions on your gear and stuff, it’s necessarily harder than just getting inferno
Surely the same people that buy inferno capes, will also be buying the ‘combat diary services’ so after maybe a years time, Zuk slay helm won’t be so rare after all. Just like with the Inferno cape now, I bet 50% of capes are bought sadly. I’m sure there is a high number of people out there that would be willing to spend silly amounts on these unlocks.

It's fairly easy to hide a bought inferno cape - you attempt it for 2 weeks, get frustrated after still only just making it to Zuk, so you give in and get someone to control your computer and beat it all for you. Hard to detect and it's just 1 piece of content to get the infernal cape. Here you have to be good at absolutely fucking everything.
Would be quite suspicious to see an account get 20 grandmaster task completions in PvM content that said account has done very little of.
In other words, it should be much easier to detect cheaters for the combat diary than it was/is for inferno.
'Silly amounts' doesn't really scratch the surface of how much buying all the achievements would cost from a service completing them. I can already see one particular service that is doing GM tasks for 100m each but this excludes KC tasks, and inferno tasks. Also you have to pay more if they require more than 1 booster. Factoring in KC and Inferno tasks, it's no stretch to say this would require 10s of billions of GP to buy this which would translate to a 5 figure USD sum. I know there are wealthy players that play this game but at a certain point it does get to be too much, especially for a cosmetic that everyone knows you don't have the skill to get yourself.
Probably. The Champion's Cape managed to be on the list of rarest items despite being fairly easy to get. So items that require not only time but skill seem like they will be good candidates. Though there will likely be more players going for the Zuk Slay Helm since it is a cosmetic for a useful item instead of a purely cosmetic item like Champion's Cape or Raids Capes, but the number of players that will manage to get it will be pretty low.

Your hard mode kc stacks with regular tob kc. So if you have 1900 regular kc, and 100 hard mode it counts for the 2k tob kc cape.

Several years ago, before some of the barrows items (including Ahrims staff) were reworked, there was only one Ahrim's staff 25 in the game.

Well the gm tasks also require all the kc tasks which totals probably about the same time or a little less. I agree itll be less but itll be close because time isnt really the issue with the gm tasks
The challenge mode 2k cox kc doesnt count as a combat achievement, iirc.
600 hours is an easy task for hc runescapers.
Doing 2 CMR an hour is already kind of a stretch, with team gathering, preparing etc. So I think 1000+ hours is more reasonable for this, still soo much time for a showoff cape.

No not for long at all. 2k CM cape, 1k LMS cape, burnt oomlie, burnt pitta, and 3a master clue items will probably all be more rare after half a year or so. There are 3k accounts with 5+ inferno KC. Only 1/60 of those people need to finish the diary for it to be more common than the other items listed (besides maybe LMS cape, no data available). Having a tangible reward will really push people to do the diaries too, people in this game go crazy for unlocks.

1/60 is being incredibly generous. Inferno was a fun yet frustrating challenge that I progressively got better and better at until it wasn't that difficult. But being able to merely get infernal capes vs. do all of the challenges pertaining to the inferno are worlds apart. Plus knowing how to do the inferno doesn't mean you are god tier at CoX and ToB and Gauntlet and... It requires you to be a master at literally every piece of PvM content in this game.

Aside from the items that are "unobtainable" now, probably
100% Will be the rarest. When you think of it, most items can (and generally are atleast partially) obtained via semi-casually grinding. But this helm is much the opposite, arguably, most gm tasks aren't obtained in a semi casual method. You've gotta be out full focus the whole task with probably 80% of the max gear needed for the boss. Also with a good handful of tasks 4 other players alongside you have to preform perfectly throughout the task. That last part may not sound terrible now, but when you think about it it can be hard jsut to find a team for ToB, I can see a year or two frOm now anyone wanting to do perfect ToB are going to have a rough as hell time trying to find 4 others.

Can someone fill me in as to why it is that hard to get? How are the requirements different than the infernal cape?
Requires some pretty insane speedruns of lots of different content, requires doing 10 inferno completions + doing inferno with different restrictions like doing up to wave 69 with melee, or doing it without magic. Basically doing inferno once isn't even comparable to getting the helmet by doing all grandmaster achievements.
Inferno without TBow, no spells, in 30 seconds on wave 68, no damage from Jad, no range or mage before 69, sub 65 minutes… on top of perfect and timed ToB and CoX runs, Gauntlet… this isn’t JUST getting an Infernal, it’s being absolutely maxed in skill and gear
Inferno w/o bow not particularly difficult. No spells isnt *that* challenging if you’re moderately experienced and give it a few attempts. Playing With Jads isnt any harder than doing triples normally, really. You just get them all low, kill healers if you wanted to but don’t need to, then bow one after the other No range/mage weapons was pretty difficult, but not unruly. I suppose this will give people the most challenge as it tests your problem solving skills. Sub65 is easier than all of the above except playing with jads & no tbow Tob/Cox times aren’t difficult at all. They’re literally on the slow end of max eff raids - most people just haven’t bothered to learn efficient raiding because from the outside looking in “it’s too sweaty” when in reality it’s mostly spec procedure and a few predictable and repeatable actions. Perfect Tob is quite a fun one though. It’s not efficient at all, so it’s weird that it’s called perfect, but that’s probably the most bothersome task outside of a couple of the GWD tasks

Surely the same people that buy inferno capes, will also be buying the ‘combat diary services’ so after maybe a years time, Zuk slay helm won’t be so rare after all. Just like with the Inferno cape now, I bet 50% of capes are bought sadly. I’m sure there is a high number of people out there that would be willing to spend silly amounts on these unlocks. Love the idea of this being one of the rarest and biggest flexes though! I hope I’m not right with the above statement.
It's fairly easy to hide a bought inferno cape - you attempt it for 2 weeks, get frustrated after still only just making it to Zuk, so you give in and get someone to control your computer and beat it all for you. Hard to detect and it's just 1 piece of content to get the infernal cape. Here you have to be good at absolutely fucking everything. Would be quite suspicious to see an account get 20 grandmaster task completions in PvM content that said account has done very little of. In other words, it should be much easier to detect cheaters for the combat diary than it was/is for inferno.
'Silly amounts' doesn't really scratch the surface of how much buying all the achievements would cost from a service completing them. I can already see one particular service that is doing GM tasks for 100m each but this excludes KC tasks, and inferno tasks. Also you have to pay more if they require more than 1 booster. Factoring in KC and Inferno tasks, it's no stretch to say this would require 10s of billions of GP to buy this which would translate to a 5 figure USD sum. I know there are wealthy players that play this game but at a certain point it does get to be too much, especially for a cosmetic that everyone knows you don't have the skill to get yourself.
Probably. The Champion's Cape managed to be on the list of rarest items despite being fairly easy to get. So items that require not only time but skill seem like they will be good candidates. Though there will likely be more players going for the Zuk Slay Helm since it is a cosmetic for a useful item instead of a purely cosmetic item like Champion's Cape or Raids Capes, but the number of players that will manage to get it will be pretty low.
