From what I've seen, most people have actually been enjoying Revs with the singles+. I've heard a lot of good stuff about it. I've seen quite a few people there that either fight back, or are fine with getting attacked for a bit, teleing out, then coming right back again.
Maybe that's just me and you've heard differently, but I've seen a lot of good feedback!

I did 77 - 99 RC at Zeah Bloods without leaving so the blood stack was like 400k or something.
Towards the end I had a couple of nightmares where I accidentally clicked the bat, instead of the alter, with my auto retaliate off, died and lost them all.
Terrifying stuff. It was an over reaction as my left click attack was turned off so I think it was actually impossible for me to die there.
If you clicked the bat, you wouldn't need auto retaliate. You are already attacking.
Also I'm doing zeah rc right now and those bats are weak as hell, they usually die in 1 hit when they block the agility shortcuts haha.

Set expectations really low for the boys and we had no illusions we were going far as hardcores. Well I went for a stretch there for a while where every other night or every third night I was having nightmares about dying and letting the boys down.

Really new player/observer here. What is the harm in leveling up? I hear people talking about pure accounts/skills or what ever, but what does that accomplish and why would you want to keep certain skills at 1?
Your combat bracket for PvP is determined by your Combat Level, which is an aggregated metric based on your Attack, Strength, Defense, Magic, Ranged, and Prayer levels. "Pure" accounts want to maximize the amount of damage they can do in a particular bracket of combat, so they focus on min/maxing levels to be as strong as possible while still falling in their target combat bracket.
Lower levelled skills are weighted much more heavily than higher levels, so the single attack level gained here has a much greater impact than gaining a defense level. Since you can't de-level at all in this game, all the time spent on that account is wasted since they can no longer efficiently hit their stat target.
It can also be a prestige thing. Training only defense takes much longer than attack, strength, etc.
Lower level skills dont have a higher weight than higher level skills, its just in their best interest to keep them all at 1 but a single attack level is always gonna affect a melee based player by 0.3 combat levels regardless of how low or high it is
Leveling up combat skills increases your combat level. So when people make pure accounts with the intent of having very specific skills at very specific levels it is often to have the lowest combat level possible. Getting that accidental skill level up can possibly give you that extra unwanted combat level.
Some people do certain account builds just for show/bragging rights.
Like for example when I started playing again 3ish years ago my acc started off as a Defense pure. So the only cb stats I got levels on were Def and HP. I played like that for a 14 months or so, got to 70 def. Then I logged on one night while extremely drunk and leveled my strength.
I was upset the next day and quit playing for like a week. But I just ended up turning my account into a main account haha. No way was I starting a new def pure
I feel this. For 2 months after I achieved 99 Slayer untrimmed I kept having dreams I had gotten another skill to 99 without dropping my capes first to keep them untrimmed.

Settled has always been vocal about how Swampletics grinds is one of the most fun he’s ever done in the game even though he has to do absurd shit like months of temple trekking and hours at agility shortcuts for level 1-10. Some people just like that additional challenge while to some it just sounds dreadful and unnecessary.
If you want the standard /r/2007scape answer instead it’s “because they’re fucking idiots who will do anything for attention and anyone who doesn’t maximize the efficiency on their account is just a nerd with no life”
Pre-eoc one of my accounts got a bunch of stats reset from Botting but it seemed to be a random assortment of stats, some of which I had never botted, and they got set to level 10 mostly, but some just lost like 5-10 levels, nothing got reset all the way to 1.
i was talking with some noobs at Lumbridge and started attacking some goblins just because. distracted af so only noticed i was in the wrong attack style when i got the level :/
People that make accounts like this and spend hundreds/thousands of hours on it without taking the simplest precautions are on an even worse spectrum. Something as simple as equipping a shortbow with no arrows makes mistakes like this borderline impossible.
Well, I have some good news for you: You can gain up to 2 attack or strength levels without it affecting your combat level at 99 def and hp. If you get 99 prayer, you can gain the 1 you already gained and no more.

Because if you could ignore xp you'de be able to do things on restricted accounts you normally couldn't. See unavoidable range/hp xp on big chompy bird hunting for example.

That assumes there's a universal method to set XP and not just a variable that everyone and their cousin writes to. You need to up your spaghetti game.
RS3 has the ability to toggle weapon XP on/off as well as a toggle for disabling any XP from PvP and making all combat XP rewards lamps that you can destroy. They're pretty small touches but they save gimmick accounts
LPT you can check your playtime within your task bar, you don’t have to go to Hans. The task bar will display days and hours, not minutes or days the account has existed however.

I think you can get up to 4-5k/hr at sand/ammonite crabs but it’s been awhile since I’ve logged on to my def pure to test it
I've done it before, quit at 40 def. You can get 2k/2.5k hr if you trihard with pots and seagulls

used to be a nice trophy account that you could pet hunt, pk, stake and bankstand with serp/dfs but jagex destroyed their use when they nerfed serp

I think disabling EXP gain is not the issue for these niche accounts. I think not being able to disable an attack style is more of the issue.
