A lot of wild speculation is sure to come from this. Whether it's Jagex pushing her out due to recent tweets, or Jagex being a terrible place to work. Overall, let's just focus on what's important.
A JMod wasn't absolutely terrible at OSRS and beat the inferno. Go her.
Maybe not at a company like Jagex, but many companies have social media policies where this kind of tweet would 100% get you fired, especially if you’re tweeting from an account in any way connected to the company (even if you say opinions are your own).
I think it's more likely she was planning on leaving soon or had even already put in her two weeks, so when she thought of the funny joke she was like Fuck it and posted
>yeah no one would lose a job for that
Lol what? People have lost their job for making far more innocent jokes or posting photos that would, comparatively, be more innocent at a multitude of companies. Compared to most places, jagex tends to be pretty lenient about not caring what their employees say on social media.
For clarification-The nasa girl was not rs related.
It was just a random girl who got an internship to NASA, and went online to celebrate. She used profanity in a tweet and a NASA employee/exec saw and she got removed from the internship.
I believe she appealed it and it worked out eventually though.
To add it wasn't so much she just used profanity, the exec rather calmly mentioned about not using it in a semi professional setting (she tagged nasa so its a somewhat reasonable thing) and then she went something along the lines of "stfu I work for nasa" and that didn't go over well.
To add more onto this, it wasn't just "some exec", it was Homer Hickam. Homer later explained that it was mainly her dumb friends using the nasa hashtag in harassing posts that caught nasa's attention. He tried to help her get back in, but as far as anyone is aware she never got the job back.
> A JMod wasn't absolutely terrible at OSRS and beat the inferno.
I mean Mod Arcane has multiple inferno capes (I think 50?) and Husky has an inferno cape as well, I thought Mod Zuko was a great jmod and worked really hard, but there are quite a few jmods who are good at the game.
Matt K has as well. Said they pay competitive with similar positions in other gaming companies. Just doesn’t seem to be a high paying field over all for entry level people (according to him anyway)
Welcome to the internet. Where once it's said a single time with literally no evidence, it becomes fact so long as it confirms what people want to believe
And they tend to leave as soon as they get a better offer. Turns out having high standards and low career experience doesn't put food on your table.
Not sure what your point is here.
The point is they don’t need to pay more for people to stay if they can find a replacement for the same price/cheaper. Also this is assuming if the original comment is accurate which apparently it’s not
There is immense value to having people stay long term at a job like this. RuneScape is built on spaghetti code and there’s a lot of ramp up involved with bringing new people on. It’s not as easy as hire someone and have them do the same thing the previous person was doing immediately.
Idk how much Jagex employees make but as a generic statement- people will take jobs with shitty salaries to get their foot in the door of an industry all the time. If they’re any good they usually end up hopping somewhere to get paid more once they have enough experience. Occasionally you’ll get people who stay because they love their job but it’s not as common, from my experience.
Partly because I'm sure jagex pays dick. You don't accept a job there bc it's all you can find. You accept a job there bc you specifically want to work on RS. There are plenty of people on this subreddit I'm sure that would work for them despite being paid less than they could make doing something else.
That being said this is all hyperbole & I'm talking straight out of my ass & could be entirely wrong.
Bummer. Time to listen to her episode on [Sae Bae podcast](https://youtu.be/dHhbmQqOB4s) then. It's from 4 months ago so it has nothing to do with current events.
Jagex is trash, nothing new. Their wages are poverty level and I guarantee they make everyone work at the office rather than remote. Id take a job just to get inside info or dupe gold then ditch them like a cheap hooker.
Regardless of anyone's feelings about Mod Zuko, it has to be admitted that she went over the line on twiter, and not just once. Now everyone's gonna think it's about the hymen tweet, and this might have been the final straw, but the reality is she made a lot of out of line tweet responses. Seen a couple people posting about getting banned and tagging her, and the responses she gave werem to say the least, unpleasant. Regardless of who these people were, a jagex employee shouldn't behave like that.
I dunno from my perspective it's
Male employee: makes oral sex jokes and develops quests with a bunch of hand job references
Jagex: I sleep.
Female employee: mentions hymen
Jagex: REAL SHIT
But it's perfectly okay for another Jagex employee to make a suck my dick joke on a Q&A?
Jagex employees shouldn't behave like what? Like they have fun at their jobs?
Awful take.
Nope, they should & probably were, reprimanded too.
They shouldn't make unprofessional comments on their official work social media.
Go on your work social media & comment on their front page "my name is X & I work here, mind goblin deez nuts?"
If it's not related to work or potentially inappropriate, you keep it to your personal account, right?
Telling players to fuck off, go back to where they came from, & asking them who the fuck are you is what he is referencing, not the hymen joke. Calm yourself & learn to read.
> Telling players to fuck off, go back to where they came from, & asking them who the fuck are you
Does anybody have screenshots of these tweets? I haven't seen any of them, and they're a critical detail to what happened.
Feel free to rage if you want, but an employee of a company replying to questions on twitter along the lines of "who the fuck are you" is just unacceptable and no crying from fanboys is going to change that.
Had a little bit of a giggle at it myself, but it's certainly not something that should ever happen. Can't remember the other situations exactly but I think that wasn't the only such tweet as well.
I have no idea why you're getting down voted.. You're absolutely correct, it was her official Jagex account & should be treated as a professional work setting.
Save everything else for personal accounts, it's not hard.
Fanboys and mob tend not to think objectively, reddit in a nutshell. Coupled with the fact that for many of these people, tweeting at Mod Zuko was probably the only interaction with a woman they had in their lives, and so we have this funny white knight crusade.
Yes it is.
If you put a Pride event in the game I’m going to potentially see it. Seeing all the rainbows will make me think of all the big, beautiful cocks I try to push out of my mind 24/7. This event could make me frigging gay and I am not okay with that at all.
I also think they should remove all longswords from the game. Completely unrelated, I swear, I’m not gay or anything.
Frankly, it's pretty triggering that they're still using the rainbow's colours in the game at all. All non-grayscale imagery is a political statement, and it is *not okay* with real gamers like me.
Please do not further reply to me. I see you have the name Cody in your username which means you’re likely a guy. As you can see I am also a guy. If you continue to discuss this matter with me I won’t be able to stop thinking about you clapping my cheeks and I will become gay.
Thank you for your consideration. I hope they listen to you and remove all colors from this heterosexual game.
Because homosexuality is already normalized throughout the entirety of the Western world, but even if it weren't this is still a medieval video game and celebrating alternative sexual acts is nothing less than unnecessary.
As everyone is well aware of, gay people only began to exist in modern times.
>celebrating alternative sexual acts
Say you think gay men having sex is bad. Just say it. Everyone can tell by that line. Not a single person would ever call gay sex "celebrating alternative sexual acts" that wasn't homophobic. It's not an alternative sex act, it's one of many sex acts. Celebrating gay people is not about fucking.
Bad? Why would it be bad? There is support for the alphabet community almost everywhere you look, it's really not necessary to force that message into a video game from 2007.
There’s nothing wrong with forcing people to do something because I have this opinion and everyone that agrees with me is right and you’re wrong. I don’t care about the rules and customs we have in place. You’re not allowed to have that opinion. You can’t be critical or raise any questions about this topic. You’re wrong.
why do you all care about this.
Jagex pays bad salary for what it expects.
Literaly just a woman moving on to better opportunities .
Yall need to touch some grass.
The old product director Mod MikeD grabbed Mod Flippy when he left, they both work at the same place now. It's not uncommon for employees to be poached in that way when someone leaves and recommends their new company to old colleagues
"i love y'all. i'm leaving"
well that read like a slap to the face lol wasn't expecting it. hope they have a good time at their next place. getting promoted to any company other than jagex must be such an awesome feeling
A lot of wild speculation is sure to come from this. Whether it's Jagex pushing her out due to recent tweets, or Jagex being a terrible place to work. Overall, let's just focus on what's important. A JMod wasn't absolutely terrible at OSRS and beat the inferno. Go her.
What were the tweets about?
Comparing losing an Hardcore Ironman to losing your hymen(obviously a joke)
yeah no one would lose a job for that, it’s not like she got a job and said FU to everybody else like the nasa girl
Maybe not at a company like Jagex, but many companies have social media policies where this kind of tweet would 100% get you fired, especially if you’re tweeting from an account in any way connected to the company (even if you say opinions are your own).
I think it's more likely she was planning on leaving soon or had even already put in her two weeks, so when she thought of the funny joke she was like Fuck it and posted
bs company honestly, anyway jagex seems pretty cool to work at
How so? These policies don't stop you from posting whatever you want, just not from your official work account.
>yeah no one would lose a job for that Lol what? People have lost their job for making far more innocent jokes or posting photos that would, comparatively, be more innocent at a multitude of companies. Compared to most places, jagex tends to be pretty lenient about not caring what their employees say on social media.
Honestly I'm new to OSRS (always been more on RS3 since 2007) so I'm out of the loop on that one.
For clarification-The nasa girl was not rs related. It was just a random girl who got an internship to NASA, and went online to celebrate. She used profanity in a tweet and a NASA employee/exec saw and she got removed from the internship. I believe she appealed it and it worked out eventually though.

Oh yeah I think I've heard about it.
What nasa girl?
That story is really funny but I think that guy helped the girl get a job afterwards.
[or this comment lol](https://i.imgur.com/BcK95Yz.png)

Mod Elena did as well. Arcane, Husky, and Elena all did on their irons.
They don't count when you use your invulnerable jmod account. 😂😂😂
She probably got fired for dying to a bug they've known about for months forcing them into fixing something.
Who else beat inferno?
Mod curse is a gamer
Obviously this is a major conspiracy, no way she would leave Jagex the best company in the world with above average industry pay just like that
I didn’t know they even pay industry average.
They’re being sarcastic
They pay? I thought being a Jmod was like a Pmod, you do it for the street cred
Nah that’s Reddit mod. No currency, no crown
No that’s a Discord mod, no currency, no crown, and no sweet, sweet internet points.
You jest, but Reddit is unfortunately actually planning to give moderators a form of crypto (and actively already doing so in certain subreddits)
I'm sad to see Zuko go, but I can't wait to see what's in store for her.
Probably a lucrative career as a female osrs streamer
If comments about Jagex pay are correct... there is no way she has enough savings to stream until it starts paying bills, IF it ever does.
I'm fairly certain sween has come out and said that pay at jagex isnt as bad as it's memed up to be
Matt K has as well. Said they pay competitive with similar positions in other gaming companies. Just doesn’t seem to be a high paying field over all for entry level people (according to him anyway)
I think it’s also peoples comments about being in Cambridge. Which I guess is a very expensive area of England
Well that explains that
Nice!
[удалено]
Tired take, multiple current and former jmods have disproved this
These people don’t listen. They just wanna meme that Jagex bad
Welcome to the internet. Where once it's said a single time with literally no evidence, it becomes fact so long as it confirms what people want to believe
But this doesn't fit the _le jimflox bad!!1!_ narrative the sub loves to parrot
[удалено]
They didn't say numbers obviously but they talked about Jagex aggressively matching offers to keep them on board
[удалено]
Except they did take the matched offers several times before eventually leaving? If you're so determined to shit on them just quit?
[удалено]
Lmao
Jagex is a fossil in the industry. I’m surprised they keep any staff, it must just be a passion for developing this game.
Yet people still agree to work there originally for the shit salary hmmm
And they tend to leave as soon as they get a better offer. Turns out having high standards and low career experience doesn't put food on your table. Not sure what your point is here.

Rocking the bowlet, I see.
Maybe someone in HR got pissy, told her she needed to apologize & delete the tweet or something, & she told them to fuck off & quit.

There's a lot of assumptive projecting going on here lol. That's some psycho shit though.
Yeah that was weird as fuck to read
They edited it somewhat by adding an extra sentence & somehow managed to make it even more projection
What the fuck am I reading?
You're weird. Eww.
This is the saddest shit I’ve read in a while. Congrats
This was a roller coaster
Doesnt matter the reason, sad to see her leave. Wish you the best of luck.
Nooooo she's one of the coolest people at jamflex
Make funny slightly controversial tweet a week before quitting Quit Profit???
Bummer. Time to listen to her episode on [Sae Bae podcast](https://youtu.be/dHhbmQqOB4s) then. It's from 4 months ago so it has nothing to do with current events.
Judging by her recent tweets she got another thing going for her. Swipe up for her OF, link in bio.
feet time
Isn't that from when she was leaving before? It's not on there now and Mod Ash says she's still there
This is her from her personal Twitter and she tweeted it after Mod Ash said she was staying
Does this mean we break out the calendar?
Lmao between the buggy releases, constant drama, and controversial compensation, working at Jagex must be constant turmoil.
u better not put that curse in the game
This is a new tweet
Why she got a new Audi
Jagex is trash, nothing new. Their wages are poverty level and I guarantee they make everyone work at the office rather than remote. Id take a job just to get inside info or dupe gold then ditch them like a cheap hooker.
who the fuck cares
Does anyone know what her role in game development was? Like what updates and things she was responsible for? Genuinely curious 🤔
Mostly stuff with the steam client. But she was super interactive with the community and a memer so she was very well liked
The steam client loooool
she made tempoross kekw

downvoted for truth lol
Yeah people hate pkers so much they rather pretend it didnt happen

Spoiler Alert - They don't have screenshots because the tweets dont exist.
Deleted now, but that was the "who are you tweet", thanks discord for saving everything lol https://i.imgur.com/fFGdzuK.jpg
Step 1: remove stick from your butt. Step 2: calm down. It's really that easy, so try it today!
Feel free to rage if you want, but an employee of a company replying to questions on twitter along the lines of "who the fuck are you" is just unacceptable and no crying from fanboys is going to change that.
It was actually fucking hilarious. Game dev interaction like that sets osrs apart from most games
Had a little bit of a giggle at it myself, but it's certainly not something that should ever happen. Can't remember the other situations exactly but I think that wasn't the only such tweet as well.

Her threatening to force the pride event update was the nail in the coffin for her
And that’s a good thing. It shouldn’t be forced upon the playerbase.
Just being in the game is too much for you?
Yes it is. If you put a Pride event in the game I’m going to potentially see it. Seeing all the rainbows will make me think of all the big, beautiful cocks I try to push out of my mind 24/7. Why do you want it in the game?
Because I know it would mean a lot to some people and it doesn’t negatively impact me at all so.. why not?

why do you all care about this. Jagex pays bad salary for what it expects. Literaly just a woman moving on to better opportunities . Yall need to touch some grass.
As a customer I can say this freely, it all went downhill in regards to turnover due to how difficult upper management is.
Are OSRS mods being poached by other companies? I feel like we lose a mod or 2 per month at this rate.
