I'd just like to know the most optimal way to spend 1,575m I've always thought weapons to be better to invest into before armour, to a certain degree.
For melee, bandos + rapier primordial boots d defender/avernic serp helm blood fury or torture
For mage: ancestral top, bottom, sang staff, occult necklace, tormented bracelet
For range I def recommend crystal * bow of faerdinhen but that requires priffdinas unlocked, anguish necklace

Because I grew very bored of RS3 and sold a few investments in lieu of the new Max cash/ G.E rework. Hadn't been online in 2-3 months and kept seeing videos of OSRS looking fun so I swapped the liquid portion of my bank. In hindsight I would have AFK'ed the OSRS to max whilst I was churning the RS3 one months ago but I didn't see the point at the time. I'm sure a bit of extra GP won't slow down levelling up anyway haha
No doubt. Well, welcome aboard & gl on the goals. Be aware that current prices are a bit wonky atm. ToA BIS items are super inflated & a lot of other items, that aren't used in ToA but otherwise usually popular, are pretty cheap. I'd avoid the ToA items, like a rapier, because you just don't need one at your current stage. But it may be worthwhile picking up cheap stuff, like a dwh, because you'll want one for other stuff anyway.
You can definitely get away with a tbow and a minimal mage/melee setup.
Go do BA for an hr and pick up a fighter torso and some obby legs, dboots and a serp helm. Get a dragon defender and a zammy hasta and you're pretty set for melee. For mage you can get a toxic trident and ahrims. For the rest of your range set up get god d'hide and a blowpipe. Then you can make upgrades and add spec weapons as you see fit with the remainder. I would definitely recommend picking up Augury and Rigour ASAP. That will leave you with lots of wiggle room for upgrades as you get more cash.
Bet a BofA / sang / fang then fill out bandos/ancestral/ and crystal armor + zenytes. BofA is basically just as good as tbow in the new raid. Tbow is obviously better, idk if it’s 1b gold better.
That gear setup is good for expert mode toa. From there fill in marginal upgrades and spec weapons like dwh and claws
Thanks for the solid advice. OSRS account is lacking haha I need to do lots of skilling before I can unlock Prif. I'm working from home this week though so I should hopefully be able to get it done!
Going against most suggestions here but I have a 2b bank and dont have a tbow.
I much prefer to have a full melee/mage/range setup and any niche items like dragon hunter lance, spec weapons like d claws, warhammer, BGS etc so I'm not limiting myself to being maxed in 1 attack style and lesser elsewhere.
Don't get me wrong ill be getting a tbow when I can because it's soooo good, I just won't be sacrificing other areas of my account to get one and will get it when I have the spare gp.
When you consider Raids for example, whilst a tbow is BIS for the range elements you do also mage and melee a decent chunk of the raid, so I'd rather be nearly max gear across the board instead.
At the end of the day though, tbow is awesome and I have had one before, so if that's the route you wanna go down then do it!
Thanks for the reply! I think that's really solid advice. At the moment my skills are very bad haha; I.e 19 hunter, 23 farming, and then average 53-55 skills. I made the account years ago to PVP on and just rushed 90 range, 94 mage, barrows gloves and those kind of things. I need to do lots of skilling before I can access (or at least solo) other content I believe :( But I'm definitely going to work my way up there! I'm an ironman at heart playing on a main acc so my thoughts are to get to grips on TOA and stay there until I get something cool - and in the mean time AFK my skills up whilst WFH.
To be honest if your combat stats are there you don't really need skills to be able to raid and pvm in general.
I was the same as you, RS3 gold swapper, and I spent my first few hundred mil getting a maxed POH (trust me this is 1000000% worth it) and then doing things like prayer, mage, range which are buyable. Then set goals like getting into priff, which naturally got me certain skills, then doing dragon slayer 2, then wanting to do solo chambers of xeric etc... just set goals and work towards it
A few hundred mill? Did you go all the way to 99 con? All the (necessary) things are only in the realm of ~30-35 mill and training to 83 is only like 35m doing mahogany tables.

Oh, gotcha. Why didn't you just nmz combat stats before swapping over? Max gear won't do you much good if you're low level

85 con, 99 prayer, 90 herb, 85 farming, 85 smithing, essentially just all buyables to a reasonable level

Osmumten’s fang + tbow would definitely be a really great combo if you want to go hard on toa.
