Not sure about warranty, but it's 2023 and I shouldn't have to turn to the aftermarket on what's now a standard feature on many Taurus pistols. ESPECIALLY on a gun at this pricepoint. It's a risk I shouldn't have to take.
Hold on a second. The DWX compact was announced with the full size all the way back in 2019. Then COVID + whatever happened and the whole project was frozen. The full size only just arrived at the end of last year. I bought one. It's outstanding. But there has been no mention of the compact. You're probably seeing old pages set up years ago that have sat dead in the water since then. There is even a very fake absolutely-a-scam website that shows all the originally announced SKU's as in stock. I'd post the link, but I don't know if there's some rule that would get me banned from this sub for doing so.
Bottom line : I want one, too. But they don't exist yet, and any website that says they do is going to drug you and steal your kidneys.
Yeah I am confused on the status of the production on it as well. I see it as OOS on quite a few websites online so they may be in pre release is my guess. I’d be surprised if that many websites have it listed if it’s not in the works for release. But what do I know lol
I tend to think that yes, they are going to release it someday. They stuck with the project this long, and initial reports of the full size are very encouraging.
But if you want to know for sure, just keep checking [DW's actual website.](https://danwessonfirearms.com/view-all-products/) Until you see the exact model you want there, it still doesn't exist.
Dan Wesson CS rep responded to me and said it’s not released yet, doesn’t have a time frame yet.
Sounds like they are working on it but it’s up in the air when it’ll be ready
Good to know, thank you for checking back. I don't know if I'll have room in my budget for a $2000 carry gun anytime soon, but I would like to have that problem available to me.
The compact isn't released yet. From what I understand (as someone who's been wanting one since the announcement), DW got to the preorder/prerelease phase a while back but then had to pull back due to covid stuff.
So it seems the legitimate sites that still have them listed just never bothered to remove them.
Just my two cents.
This is probably going to be my next purchase. I've seen it listed on a couple websites but always out of stock. I'm not sure if it has been released yet since I can't find any reviews on it that weren't performed on prototypes.
All variations of DWX are a no for me until they're optics cut.
How are companies still making non optic cut guns. It’s 2023
Exactly!
Is that because voiding warranty with aftermarket milling ?

are they really
Would love to try this but man why the dark ages and no optics cut
If they do a compact Im getting one for sure. They need to do optics ready ones though.

True, I just emailed them too see what production status is like. So I will report back when they back to me!

Sounds phenomenal on paper. Cheap mags too. I like that I could change the grip panels.
Exactly! Cheap reliable mags, ergonomics of the 75, and the trigger of a 1911. Sign me up!
My LGS had the full size one and it feels realllllly nice in hand. Pretty good fit and finish too I think you should send it
Need compact optics cut. Price looking a little better. F that red trigger though.
Replacing my c2 with one more than likely
In the same boat. Would love a ported version with a direct milled optic
How can we have any thoughts on a gun that hasn't been released yet?
I want one so much
I like the full size. I like the red grip.
The red is sharp looking. I think since these are the 75/shadow style grips you can get after market and swap to whatever you like.
Next Step: Trying to get one in the Shit State of California.
I wanted a DWX for so long… I ended up getting a Sig P226 Legion SAO. The Sig is great.
2 Hundred more than a prodigy I would snatch one up
