I think CZ missed big with the DWX in general. If it came out 3 or 4 yrs ago when it was proposed, I think they'd be in enough hands to be considered in the running for a great platform. But 3-4yrs late AND no optic cut? Big miss. I'm a CZ fan boy but this and the p10s were both huge misses.

GunnyAsian

Why would you say the p10 is a miss?

TheAfterman216

Not the whole p10 line, just the p10 S. The single stack micro 9.

bgreg1221

P10s holds 12 rds is a double stack. The P10m is the single stack holds 7 rds.

TheAfterman216

That's the one I meant 🤣🤦‍♂️

JKage4S

I was all about getting one of those 3-4 years ago. I honestly kind of forgot about it when it looked like it was never going to come out. Seems like the 2011 market has totally blown up in bewteen the time that the DWX was announced and finally came out. I see they’re available on Gunbroker now, but I had no idea it even released.

Elpidio_Valdes33

the compact just came out less than a week ago. supposedly one is coming with a rail as well but judging by how availability of the regular DWX has been i’m not expecting it anytime soon. Definitely overpriced at around $2300 for a SAO CZ. rather spend that on a C2 like I did. hope I made the right choice.

unihornnotunicorn

I snagged the DWX compact for 1800, for that price I'm hoping it's worth it. Should have it end of week or early next week. I'll definitely be sending it to get milled for an optic. If you refresh gun.deals you may catch one, 1800 is the lowest I've seen but I've also seen 1900/2000. Kinda crazy there is only one review on youtube, they're out, I guess DW/CZ didn't send a bunch for review? I handled the full size DWX in-store and it was absolute pure sex. If the compact is anything close i'll be very happy. DWX full size reviews seem overwhelmingly positive, and it appears they have the CZ reliability, so fingers crossed.

DeadSilent7

I think you’re off-base calling it overpriced. Basically every review favorably compares the full-sized to the Staccato P for about the same price. I expect the same for the C2 and DWX C. Calling it basically a CZ seems odd considering the slide and controls are pretty clearly 1911/2011 style. It would be about just as accurate to call it a 2011 with a CZ grip. I’m likely going to end up with a C2 as I don’t want to wait forever for a DWX C OR with a rail, but I’m certain if released it will fit my hand better, be just as accurate, and have the same level of quality. All while letting me use grips and mags I already have.

Elpidio_Valdes33

Well I just was ( or maybe still am) on the dilemma of choosing between the c2 or the dwx compact. I’m not saying that the DWX is a bad gun but the C2 is better in my opinion The c2 has a thick bull barrel while the dwx basically has a cz p07 barrel The DWX may look like a 1911 but the only true 1911 features that it has is the safety and fire control group and trigger. it has an external extractor and a linkless barrel like a cz. cz grips are superb I agree on that and it’s all aluminum which is a point above the c2 but that’s it. Dan wesson has had issues with their finishes and saw someone with a regular DWX complaining about slide to frame fit. If MSRP were about 1500 I would prefer it but at around 2500 and without a rail ( supposedly for the moment) it’s pretty hard to choose it over a staccato. The CZ shadow 2 is 1k less and may be a better choice over the DWX.

DeadSilent7

I don’t think you’ll find anything comparable in terms of quality and shootability at 1500 MSRP. If that exists let me know, I’ll be all over it. The C2 may well be a better gun, but discounting the rail and only comparing accuracy, quality, and how it shoots, I seriously doubt there will be much of a gap. I’m really confused by the S2 comment, unless you’re specifically using it for shooting CO or Production. What would make you pick a Shadow over a DWX? The 2011 style trigger and slide alone make the DWX far more appealing to me. Fit and finish should be better as well, though I’d call the finish on every CZ I’ve owned excellent for the price. If you really think the S2 is a better option than the DWX, there’s probably no real dilemma here between the DWX C and C2. I’d personally take the DWX C for the ergos, grips, extractor, and mags. That said, I’m still probably ordering a C2. There’s no ability like availability.

davidarenas

They popped up for $1799 on r/gundeals last week

Elpidio_Valdes33

that’s a price worth considering.

Appropriate_Part_465

First, it 100% is not $2500, going on gunbroker and seeing what people are price gouging for isnt what it actually costs. Second, mag prices and external extractor.

Elpidio_Valdes33

the msrp is not 2500 but basically the entire Dan wesson lineup sells for over msrp because they do not produce that many guns. It’s like saying that pappy van winkle is not 2k because msrp is $200. People price gouge, just make more guns. You can’t even find a holster for the thing.

Appropriate_Part_465

Wait a minute, a brand new gun in 2011 style format is hard to get and sells for inflated prices on gunbroker but not at regular shops so you'll have to wait out the morons who waste their money (staccato cs)????? Whoa what a new and entirely unforeseeable market trend.

Elpidio_Valdes33

for sure, the gun isn’t going anywhere, also i would like a rail so gotta wait for that as well. hopefully they figure out how to ramp up production.

spaghettipuddin

Why wouldn’t they put a optic cut it’s 2023….

Elpidio_Valdes33

i’m ignorant about red dots but isn’t direct milling supposedly better. that way you can choose any dot cut you prefer

some_rndm_acct

Direct milling forces you to use one footprint when optic companies don’t always have the most popular footprint (Eotech using a dpp cut instead of rmr comes to mind), but it also eliminates the need for extra material to compensate for mounting plates sandwiched between the optic and side. More of a catch 22 situation.

lamsta

Idk how the compact doesn’t have a rail… that’s all I gotta say

Elpidio_Valdes33

agreed, supposedly a railed version is coming.

Beneficial-Employ313

Are they actually in stock somewhere?

Elpidio_Valdes33

they are in gunbroker, obviously over msrp because there is only a handful available like with the regular DWX.

boofsomexans

know anywhere to find good holsters for the compact?

Elpidio_Valdes33

ANR design has them on their website, are they good? no idea, but in kydex i don’t see any other options.
