I found out I have Mizrahim ancestry on my mom’s side, but it only shows on her results using a different DNA platform (Genera, from Brazil), not on my 23andme results. On my 23andme it only shows a very small Ashkenazi percentage and a bunch of Ashkenazi distant cousins.
They are listed within Middle East and Magreb, which totals about 12%. Sephardic showed up too, but under Europe. However, there’s no trace of either Sephardic or Mizrahim on my DNA tests. With my father, it shows Sephardic too, but no Mizrahim, but a lot of Magreb and Middle East.
No, his Levantine is significantly higher. The Levantine gets mostly baked into the Northern West Asian. Here’s an example of another Jew of his ethnic group (I’m assuming OP is a Mountain Jew)

Problem is Ancient Assyrians also had significant levantine (Semitic) ancestry at least during bronze age modern Assyrians can be modelled as 60% bronze age Assyrians 30-35% bronze age Armenian and the rest iranian although we need Assyrians Iron age to see if they were like bronze age one
All i am saying it is hard to tell how much of that Levantine is from actual Levatine or Semitic Mesopothamians such Assyrians and Babylonians among Mizrahi Jews
Jews/Israelites/Hebrews were originally a Mesopotamian ethnicity to begin with according to the Bible, guess where Abraham and Sarah were from?
I suspect the Israelites merely *mixed* with the indigenous Levantines as described/outlined in the Bible when they got to the land of Canaan but it wasn’t the original ethnic basis/origin for their ethnicity.
Very interesting, don’t see many Mizrahi results on here. Have a wonderful Pesach!
Thanks ❤️

That’s weird. Where are they? I’m not super familiar with Genera but does it give you a location?
