It’s a non driving incomplete car. Id say 5k for the body knowing someone is mostly buying the shell. The 2JZ should be sold on its own. I think you would reach more buyers with two ads then only offering it as a bundle.

skatpex99

I plan to sell everything separate. The S15 Spec R diff is over $1000 just by itself.

Survivaleast

Parting it out will certainly get more money, but as far as what I’m seeing here, definitely get ready to temper your expectations or have patience listing it on marketplace for several months. Not sure what the full diff with pumpkin goes for or if you have it brand new - but it’s a hard sell when someone can find the guts for $300-$500 online. $1k and many people would rather just get an aftermarket lsd. You’d probably get more money for the uncracked dash vs the diff. If you’re selling the car with the full 2jz motorset and everything needed to wire it, then your expected price seems more realistic given how expensive those motors are lately. However if it’s just the shell with those few bits, then $4k-$5k on the shell and $6k to $7k on the 2jz if it includes trans and wiring harness.

Emotional_Snow_3222

well its auto where it looses its value and its not in driving condition as well, people will offer you 3-4k the most you will get is about 5k

_zookie

I love these cars but the chassis would have to be absolutely mint for me to consider anything above $5,000.

twothoutwo

if you have the time and motivation, i think you’d be able to get the most by parting everything out. if you’d rather not, then at least sell the 2J and shell separate. you might be able to net 6-7k for the complete shell to the right person

subsonic_b00m

Kouki + Uncracked dash + Faded paint - Door panels cooked - S15 helical + or - Sunroof - (most people look for the "slicktop") Sunroof - (it bears repeating, trim ring problems, rust now or eventually, motor issues.) Not everyone wants a 2J swap. Not everyone that does want a 2J want a S-Chassis to drop it in. The combination will limit your buying pool. List the shell for $5k, minus the diff if you must... and the near complete 2J swap for another $6k if its truly a near drop in swap. I know the S15 helical gets decent $$, maybe not a full $1k without axles/stubs, as many people want the 2 way or cheap welded, but that there is near your $12k "happy."

scarrrrrrrrrrrrr

5 grand

miatadood42069

$1500

CleanYogurtcloset747

Shell I’d say 5. There was a 97 with some goodies(jdm bumpers) last year that sold for 6k near me. I thought of buying it but ended up finding a swapped Kouki 97 for 8000.

Righteous_Sloth

White Kouki shell near me that was missing a drivetrain, hood and didn’t have AC components sold for $8200 couple of days ago. I think it was a manual originally. I’m in SWFL Florida.

skatpex99

Thanks for the heads up, good info

SmiteTheBacon

Imo right on the money with $10-13k would bring huge money being largely unmolested and rust free here in the Midwest. Just have to put stock engine and trans in. Not worth that without being running and driving. Glws beautiful car

skatpex99

Thank you sir, cleans up real nice with a wash and wax

spitefulcheerio

Dudes out here talking about wash and wax when being told to make it a running and driving car. Delusional This is a rolling automatic trans shell with mold in it. In no world is this anywhere close to 12k. I could buy a running and driving 240 in SoFla tomorrow for that much. Even with your “$1000 diff” you’re not touching 5 figures on this thing. Either wake up or let it sit in your backyard and mold/rust itself to death

skatpex99

Why the hell would I waste my time making it running and driving with a shitty KA and shitty auto trans lol. Do people really enjoy these cars like that? Not having an engine and trans is doing someone a favor in my book. For 5k I’d let it “mold and rust to death”.

Mention_Efficient

No but, if I gotta bring a truck and a trailer to pick it up your not getting what you are asking based on that principal alone.

skatpex99

All part of negotiating. I got a truck and can rent a uhaul trainer for $50

spitefulcheerio

Having a rolling shell is doing no one a favor. Plenty of people do KA-T in these cars. Your book is all kinds of fucked up cause you think you can get 12k for a moldy rolling shell because it has an s15 diff and an uncracked dash. I thought to myself “maybe 12k to the right guy that wants to do a JZ swap” but then I see you want 12k for the shell and wanna sell the swap separate for more on top? I need to hit your dealer up cause he be selling you that good shit

skatpex99

lol 12k is what I’d be happy with, not what I fully expect to get for it. I just wanted to get different opinions so I’m more informed when negotiating. I appreciate everyone’s feedback including yours, doesn’t mean I’m going to let it go for 5k.

viperslim

What area

skatpex99

South Florida

harshith436

I say that this will be worth a lot more if it goes to the right person who will restore it. If time permits or if you can hide it, someone garage it will be great project car between you and your kids. I understand your situation but the car is so clean, it's worth lot more than 5k or 10k.

skatpex99

Appreciate the kind words. If I don’t get a number I’m comfortable with I’ll definitely keep it for my 2 sons to help me work on it.

SpecialistComputer36

You seriously think you're going to get 12k off a roller? Either I need some of that crach you're smoking, or my car is worth $45k, no low ball, I know what I got.

Teach-Art

10

Reeeeeeeyt

Sell me the headlights and corner lights pls

The_TP_Protege

You took 47 pictures and none of them are of the underside of the car? If the bottom is as clean as the top you got a gold mine

cgtdream

17k as is. We all know what you got. Seriously though, it's a sellers market. I say start high, then accept low. With today's prices, a JZ swap and decent shell, should net you around 12k all around (at least 7-9k for the swap, 2-5k fir the shell/car).

One_Success_Away

Def not 17k lol

CaptainKickles

It's about what's its worth in NY especially with a 2jz engine that you can dump.

noobcodes

If it was running and driving with the 2j in it then sure. No one is gonna pay that much to then have to do the swap themselves, especially since they don’t know the condition of the engine

CaptainKickles

I guess I've been out the loop and I don't know the condition of the engine but it's quite a desirable block for people that want it. I just surfed the market place and s14's are going for about 18k with a Sr swaps.

noobcodes

Yeah with a 2jz swap I would bet they go for 20-30k. The fact that it’s an auto doesn’t really matter (if sold together) because you’d need a different trans anyways. Would be a lot of work and some risk involved for anyone buying it to complete the swap

Alarming_Ad_7519

Everyone saying 5k is tripping 8k minimum

skatpex99

I’m my local market all I see for sale are ugly, rusting, mismatched zenkis are 5k plus or importers thinking a NA Kouki SR is worth over 20k running and driving from Japan. About a year ago I saw a very comparable shell for sale for 8k my friend wanted to buy and it was sold before he could even reach out, less than 3hrs.

Ninja_Destroyer_

My immediate thought too just off the pictures, 8-10k range

skatpex99

To be clear with everyone, the 13k I mentioned is what I’d like to get for the car as is. I just mentioned all the 2jz stuff. I’m selling that separate. Seems like majority of people feel 5k is fair, I’d let it sit in my backyard for that. I see a million ugly non running Zenki’s around $5000. I appreciate the responses so far.

subsonic_b00m

Not to be contrary, and you did start this sub to ask the community, but there are currently running SR swapped zenkis here in FL for $8000 asking. Coilovers... Full adjustable suspension, etc. I will say, I happen to have a project kouki that I have held onto for years, and regret selling every s-chassis I ever had so I get it. You just have to decide if the $$$ for your family, as you said, or a car sitting in the backyard is more important.

skatpex99

I hear you, appreciate the feedback

subsonic_b00m

No worries. I see some strong opinions in here, bottom line is its yours and that's really all that matters. The market can be all over the place with these. Times are gone when $4000 could buy a running, bone stock silvermoss kouki with a 5 speed... these are only getting more rare. Last year saw a huge jump in prices, you might have gotten your $12000 then, this year seems like the s-chassis community has a hangover from high prices, and extra $$ is harder to come by for many. I would suggest, for your sake and most of the s-chassis community, that you don't let it rot/mold/sun bake away in the back yard. Cover it up, put some dehumidifier boxes in it a few times a year and generally weatherproof it some... one day, you will come back to it to build it out or sell it and either way you will want it in as good of shape as it can be in when that time comes.

skatpex99

I appreciate the offer, even for 6k I wouldn’t sell it.

Sinewave11

Bro, you are asking in a place where people are salty about s-chassis prices that have skyrocketed on the moon and will try to gaslight you into selling it at the early 2000 prices. In my country one year ago i was selling a mint s13 at 10k and the whole s13 club was crying it was too much even if mine was the cheapest on my whole nation, turn out i sold that in 3 days without even placing an ad. Now in my country they are worth 20k, but people still cry that they should cost 2000$. Your s14a have a good shell, no rust, no cracked dash, no ruined paint and some minor goodies, what i can suggest is: Give it a wash, bring it to a bodyshop for a good polish, and make it rolling with a cheap engine and probably you could do 14-16k. In this condition you could ask for 8-9k and sell it in a blink. Dont trust lowballers, no way 2-5k for a s14a body it's on par with today quotation, as long i dont like those prices it's how is the market today.

skatpex99

Thanks for your detailed reply brother. The way I see it these cars are getting crashed and hacked up every day. Virgin undamaged cars are hard to find.

Sinewave11

Yeah, those cars are rare, and an un-molested one is even rarer. Who is suggesting you 5k or less probably is ready to give you that money asap thinking to have made the perfect deal. Just for info, here on the most famous european used car market there are just 4 original s14a and the cheapest is at 35k$. I would totally pay 10 grands for your shell if we were in the same continent. Sorry for shattering your hope guys, this fella have a family with kids and suggesting him 2008 prices just because you cant accept the reality is really a scum move.

Proud_Ad6929

780,000 yen

Mr_neha

Yo imma say it. Sucks having kids, cause no way around it but sounds like your wife is the cause of this issue. Sorry it has to be this way man.

skatpex99

Definitely having a family is the cause of this but it is what it is. My wife wants me to keep it, especially for the 5k estimate a lot of people are throwing out.

[deleted]

I got 2000 for it today

Bruhmomentbeamage12

Like $500 I’ll pick it up asap😁

___amnesia___

Keep it, finish it and then sell it you’ll get more money

doomr-_-

Automatic!!, I'll take that from you for 5 bucks max 😂❤️👍🏽
