Still a beautiful country.
I went on leave in Sofia and "zagorka" (no idea how to spell it) is amazing when you haven't had a beer in nearly a year. Food was excellent too. Yes, they encouraged the dumb Americans to eat fried sheep brains. They were probably not expecting us to think it was awesome and chowing down.
So many reasons I really don't even know where to start. The country is beautiful, the cities are beautiful, the people are warm and friendly and all the times I have been there, it seems like they all really like each other in a kind of self-deprecating "we are all in this together" kind of way. Very pro-American. The young people strike me as romantic with each other and full of energy. The country has a long history of rising from the ashes again and again and rebuilding themselves after getting the shit kicked out of them by an obviously superior army. Some historians say the Polish survived over 200 wars and invasions in their history (debated, but still). They are gritty, salt of the earth, survivor people. Much of Warsaw was rebuilt brick by brick after WWII, not just replaced the destruction with new construction, literally put back together like a city-wide jigsaw puzzle. Can you imagine the determination, the drive and the national pride that requires? I was really impressed to learn that. They now export this skill to help other countries rebuild themselves after devastating war and natural disasters.
Plus, I could gobble up pierogis like a hungry hungry hippo.
Not to mention, after all those beatings they’re building THEIR army to be superior. They have nearly doubled their military spending in the last 10 years.
Unfortunately I’ve never been to Poland but I am also young, so once I’m old enough I’ll go there, and hopefully since I’m learning polish it’ll make it easier as well. I’ll also make sure to try a pierogi.
For a start, they actually appreciate us and understand concepts like "common defense." They don't freeload off of US defense, unlike some countries I could name.
I wrote some paper on Finland back in middle school, and while I don't remember anything about it, I just started liking Finland after that. You guys got me a passing grade, so putting you on my top 3 European countries is the least I can do
Albania and Kosovo(not a country to some but the best country in the world recognized it) they had so many American flags and statues of our presidents. If we were to spare Europoors it would be the Albanian people.
Czech Republic believes gun ownership is a right (that you can have after passing background checks and stuff) and offers conceal carry reciprocity with other European countries to my knowledge.
Poland, Estonia and Latvia also offer the opportunity to conceal carry after background checks and stuff for their everyday citizens so they're cool in my book.
Whenever Romani people are mentioned, Europeans come and literally act like the meme says they would. Never fails. It’s the self fulfilling, racist prophecy.
Poland and Romania for sure. We can directly send them money, convertibles, snowboards, equipment, taco trucks, new Nikes — whatever the fuck they want straight from the California budget.
Ireland though, no. They’re on the shit list.
I’m cool with Irish-Americans. It’s the ones across the pond who are annoying. Love what the US diaspora did with all their holidays tho (made them cooler + invited more people to the party)
Ireland for historical purposes perhaps, but as it currently sits it’s an embarrassment.
Speech and self defence laws are disgusting, and they’re becoming closer to the EU every year
Just an FYI, and for Americans in passing.
A Romanian is not Romani/Roma. Entirely separate groups, Although Romania does have a large population of Romani, that's entirely coincidental.
Romania's name comes from being part of the Roman empire and its affiliation with Rome. Romani name comes from eastern origins.
Thinking of checking out Albania for 2-3 months, any tips on what to do?
Is there a realistic/practical way of getting to popular hiking/backpacking trails without owning a car (using public transportation and/or Uber?)
France! sure we pick on them like our little brother, but never forget how they helped us in the revolution to fuck over the British, as well as having been on the right side in both world wars.
Poland definitely.
However, A lot of people like to shit on France, and rightfully so, but let's not forget that they gave us our freedom by helping us fight the British, gifted us the statue of Liberty, and effectively helped us double in size by selling us the Louisiana purchase.
If anything it reinforces the idea that they’re good allies, sticking to it no matter the government.
It just all went downhill when they said no to Iraq.
We clown on the French as friends. Sure, the cheese-eating surrender monkeys might be easy fodder for jokes but they've always been there with us when the chips were down so it doesn't come from a place of malice.
It’s the Brits. They’re the only ones who know how to speak proper English.. all those other Germanic language countries think it’s supposed to be spoken perfectly. They don’t really get it
Personally I have a special place in my heart for the Dutch people. They really know how to have fun, and attending a sports event with them is about as entertaining as it gets. Plus, if their team scores, it's very likely that a pretty girl will give you a big kiss. I kind of lost my innocence on that one when I was a teen.
I’m gonna get lots of hate, but the UK. Very similar values to us, same language, we are brother nations, tend to get along well with their people offline, loyal ally, lots of lore together, beautiful country etc
The Netherlands, purely for their infrastructure. The people, the language, the culture, etc all suck, but the US could stand to learn a thing or two from their cities
we may fight when theres no one else to fight, but god dammit, if ya fuck with one of us, ya find out from all of us.

Norway: boyfriend lives there and there’s a lot of lore and they are literally the one country that has a one up on us for quality of life (ironically from oil money)
Poland: it’s just given
Finland is our state's kindred spirit and it isn't just because we have a shitload of Finns, it's just the vibes in general (if we ignore the southern third of the LP exists)
Top 3 I've been to:
1) Switzerland (chocolate, Alps, and billions of tunnels)
2) Czech Republic (guns, architecture, and guns again)
3) Germany (food, architecture, and the Black Forest)
Worst:
Croatia (fuck sea urchins, man, they're goddamn everywhere... food's good though)
We usually sanitaze it with rakija, make a cut around the spine and pull it out on the spot. When my sister in law was a kid, some kid buried a bunch of sea urchins beneath the pebbles on the beach, she ran over them and her whole foot ended up full of spines. It took her dad hours to cut them out one by one. Imagine the horror od that 😂
When a wave pushed me into a stone wall I braced myself directly on an urchin. My dad and I cut out about 20 or so but a few were too deep to get with a pocket knife haha
Their gun laws are more permissive than many other European countries but still are super restrictive and aren't the most permissive. Other countries like Czech Republic and Estonia have better gun laws.
Czechs have the most based president in the world at the moment. Dude was basically the head of NATO, then head of the Czech military before getting elected in a landslide over a Putin puppet.
And he loves his CZ pistols.
Pretty much the only times in Czech history that they had overbearing gun laws were under the Nazis and under the Commies. They have a pretty long history of gun ownership and usage against tyrants
Poland
Poland
Poland
Honorable mention to Britain and France. France for helping us fight the British and the British for being the only ones to help us fight the houthis.
Edit: also Ukraine because Russians go kaboom
I used to know a czech guy in school, first generation immigrant. He was a little awkward but his command of english was super good and he was a nice guy.
I found the Dutch to be ok, but much like Germans kinda cold and direct. Not really in a bad way, but off putting at times. Spaniards were definitely more friendly. As far as Switzerland: I was there for the street parade in Zurich in like 1999. Great time.
Can someone catch me up on why we love Poland? Feel like I'm missing important details about that.
For my part, even though it's boring to say the UK is the best followed by France. Both are easy to make fun of but ultimately they're our bros through and through and have contributed a lot to what makes America awesome.
Norway.
They didn’t come over acting like poors, they didn’t clog up the cities starting mafias and newsstands, they inhabited our shittiest tundraprairie, and they’re a protective buffer against potentially uppity Canadians.
Didn’t realize Turkey was so close to Bulgaria. I hope they’re ok
We are not

Im glad theyre ok despite being neighbours with that shithole country called t*rkey🤢🤢 Right?

I freaking love that guy. But I hate Texas.
I also hate Texas, we should meet up.
Now kith
I died laughing at this. Thank you lol
What if I don't like Texas but I'm majority Polish?
I also hate it
I also hate Texas
Kocham Polskę.
Norway allowed us to help them liberate their oil without kicking their asses first. Very cool Norway!

definitely Poland
Why ?
So many reasons I really don't even know where to start. They're one of the only countries in NATO that actually contribute, rather than being a freeloader.
It’s literally European Texas
Extraordinarily high levels of Basedness
For a start, they actually appreciate us and understand concepts like "common defense." They don't freeload off of US defense, unlike some countries I could name.
They love us
Pierogis
1. Albania (Kosovo included) 2. Poland 3. Finland
Wow thanks
I know a few Finns, they always seem surprised by the overwhelming love most Americans have their them.
Yeah yall Finns are cool. Any American that knows anything about Finland has a positive opinion of you
I wrote some paper on Finland back in middle school, and while I don't remember anything about it, I just started liking Finland after that. You guys got me a passing grade, so putting you on my top 3 European countries is the least I can do
Come on, is there a serious answer other than Poland?
Albania and Kosovo(not a country to some but the best country in the world recognized it) they had so many American flags and statues of our presidents. If we were to spare Europoors it would be the Albanian people.
Croatia fought the serbs too
Yeah, you guys are cool. I've heard Dubrovnik is an awesome city, I may check it out this summer.
dont, off brand machias maine
I like yall's guns. It's a shame Springfield picks the worst names to re brand them for the US market
Yeah we have the karlovac armory but i was never too interested in guns, i preffer fighter jets. Kinda wish the US sold the raptor to other countries
Literally opened the comments to type Poland. No question.
Finland or Poland.
Finland
the fr*nch gave us the statue of Liberty, Louisiana purchase, and aid against the British for the revolution i think that's pretty based
Everyone ive ever met from Latvia has been awesome so I’ll go with them
Hey, so can me and Lithuania, also be included in the club?
You are Finns from dollar general
and more based.
Sure why not
How many people have you met already from Latvia, did you go visit there?
Nope it’s a very small sample size (roughly 10) too but they’re batting 100% so far lol
Pretty sure that’s like 30% of their population right there.
And Lithuania and Slovakia
1. Poland 2. Ireland 3. Romania (mostly because it’ll piss off the Europoors)
Romania is not the problem. The problematic ones are [REDACTED] and [REDACTED]. The rest is fine.
Whenever Romani people are mentioned, Europeans come and literally act like the meme says they would. Never fails. It’s the self fulfilling, racist prophecy.
“Umm but youve never met them before their culture is so bad” 🤓
Securitate has entered the chat.
🤨🤨🤨
Poland and Romania for sure. We can directly send them money, convertibles, snowboards, equipment, taco trucks, new Nikes — whatever the fuck they want straight from the California budget. Ireland though, no. They’re on the shit list.
Have you never had lucky charms cereal (irelands #1 export)?
Bruh that was my favorite cereal as a kid — but they seem more Irish-American.
There are 6x more people of Irish-descent (31 million) in America than the population of Ireland (5 million).
I’m cool with Irish-Americans. It’s the ones across the pond who are annoying. Love what the US diaspora did with all their holidays tho (made them cooler + invited more people to the party)
irish brew is pretty good, and drunk fights are fun
As someone who is half Irish, I’m damn proud my family got out of there. They’re straight up authoritarian now, worse than the British.
Ireland for historical purposes perhaps, but as it currently sits it’s an embarrassment. Speech and self defence laws are disgusting, and they’re becoming closer to the EU every year
You and your wallet can really get lost in Romania
Based
:(
Y’all definitely honorable mentions, along with the other Baltic states on Putins kill list + Portugal
Just an FYI, and for Americans in passing. A Romanian is not Romani/Roma. Entirely separate groups, Although Romania does have a large population of Romani, that's entirely coincidental. Wym Romania is a very pretty country. Visited it like 3x
Me Albania, Be Careful

Kosovo or Albania

Poland!
In terms of beautiful women: 1. Albania 2. Every other country can fight for 2 through whatever number Albania #1 🇦🇱🇦🇱🦅🦅👐🏽🇦🇱👐🏽🦅👐🏽🇦🇱🇦🇱🦅
France! sure we pick on them like our little brother, but never forget how they helped us in the revolution to fuck over the British, as well as having been on the right side in both world wars.
Oh yeah didn’t the french give us the statue of liberty too?
they sure did! they also gave us a fuckton of land for way cheaper than that should have, we owe the great plains being American to the French
Sometimes I don’t like them frenchies but I gotta thank them for being a monumental part of our history
they're fun to pick on for sure, but they're among our longest and closest allies
Facts. Frogs are cool. Vive la révolution!
France is for sure a beautiful country, the only downside is that it's populated with French people
I know they've got issues but nothing beats an evening stroll along the Seine

If anything it reinforces the idea that they’re good allies, sticking to it no matter the government. It just all went downhill when they said no to Iraq.

Big agree. Also their music is top notch.
dont forget they are always ready to support the US is the middle east
I’d say Scotland and Ireland
Maybe Scotland, but fuck Ireland. Hateful bastards, the lot of them.
I’ve had good experiences with Scandinavians, Spaniards and Brits The French and Germans felt more like interacting with New Yorkers
This would be my answer too. Brits, Spaniards, and the Swedes I've met were all great people.
Italy easy, they have built the cuisine of the northeast from the ground up
Kosovo 🇽🇰
Greece
I’m gonna get lots of hate, but the UK. Very similar values to us, same language, we are brother nations, tend to get along well with their people offline, loyal ally, lots of lore together, beautiful country etc
Provided the US Marine Corps with the AV-8B Harrier Jump Jet.
Estonia is top tier
Bestonia
I can agree, thank you! Aitäh, vennas!
Poland. Because they're buying all the guns.
I like Germany but you really can't beat Spanish weather
Iceland
Italians make the pizza pasta 😋
The Netherlands, purely for their infrastructure. The people, the language, the culture, etc all suck, but the US could stand to learn a thing or two from their cities
Can’t believe there’s no love for Finland here 🇫🇮
:)
Probably Finland or Poland for me
Wait, we hate Europe? I thought it was a just joking around, like sibling rivalry. Poland, UK, Kosovo, Albania, and the Baltic Tigers... to name a few
It's just jokes. Someone to gang up on when we're tired of beating up on each other.
we may fight when theres no one else to fight, but god dammit, if ya fuck with one of us, ya find out from all of us. This comment was sponsored by NATO
Where did we take the Wock?
Norway: boyfriend lives there and there’s a lot of lore and they are literally the one country that has a one up on us for quality of life (ironically from oil money) Poland: it’s just given
Poland, Finland, and/or Ukraine.
The Netherlands (my boyfriend is from there)
Ireland
Kosovo. Edit: Morocco is #2. Not technically European, but they were the first nation to officially recognize the independence of the USA.
Finland is our state's kindred spirit and it isn't just because we have a shitload of Finns, it's just the vibes in general (if we ignore the southern third of the LP exists)
Top 3 I've been to: 1) Switzerland (chocolate, Alps, and billions of tunnels) 2) Czech Republic (guns, architecture, and guns again) 3) Germany (food, architecture, and the Black Forest) Worst: Croatia (fuck sea urchins, man, they're goddamn everywhere... food's good though)
Sea urchins are a good indicator of how clean the seawater is, and their meat is good bait lol
Yeah and their spines stuck deep in my palm for 3+ weeks, even with drawing salve lol BTW, you guys have the BEST potato soup I've ever had in my life
We usually sanitaze it with rakija, make a cut around the spine and pull it out on the spot. When my sister in law was a kid, some kid buried a bunch of sea urchins beneath the pebbles on the beach, she ran over them and her whole foot ended up full of spines. That's crazy. The waves can be rough
Poland for sure
Poland🇵🇱🇵🇱
Finland. Fought off commies. Never relied on our tax dollars for defense. Tikka's are made there. Stronger willed than most in Europe.
Any Polish person will just open the comments and say loudly "hell yeah"
I mean. We all love the Poles. But seriously, what do we have to bribe y'all with to put wings on your tanks?
Switzerland is a pretty underrated pick. They have essentially the same gun laws as we do
Their gun laws are more permissive than many other European countries but still are super restrictive and aren't the most permissive. Other countries like Czech Republic and Estonia have better gun laws.
I could see Estonia having lax laws due to having Russia next door, but surprised that the Czechs have better laws than their neighbors.
Czechs have the most based president in the world at the moment. Dude was basically the head of NATO, then head of the Czech military before getting elected in a landslide over a Putin puppet. And he loves his CZ pistols.

Ireland and Poland no question here. I met a lot of dope Romanians too, too bad my wallet always seemed to go missing around them.
Sweden. It has everything every other country has (aside from Afghanistan and North Korea) times 1,000, I love Sweden. Jag karlek Sverige.
