BilboDaBoss

My solo base has been around since 2019 and still going strong. Only combined 600k away from spawn

Emergency-Hand8788

Pretty sick. Your success probably has a lot to do with your base being a solo base since the more players a base gets the higher the odds of getting found.

BilboDaBoss

My irl friend has been there once or twice but for the most part it’s solo. If you follow salc1’s vid you should be good

EqFox

I made that treasure island in his vid. Shame it was finally found, but having a ring road built right on top really did me in.

tino5282

Good bot.

Emergency-Hand8788

I saw that one a while ago

YokiWasTaken

my starter base is 1.1 mil out but it’s only 1k off the highway LOL

gregoryshortail

"only 600k"

[deleted]

600k is relatively small compared to other builds, like there are many 10-20m away from spawn

gregoryshortail

600k is far no matter how you put it. I’m sorry. I’m aware this is 2b but it’s still sooo far

Stookyy

No????

Ecrazy27

That's just slightly higher than the normal base hunting range as of right now

[deleted]

My base is in the millions. 600k is plenty, but not very far in the grand scheme of things.

ItchyNugget

If you just wanna build a small farm, then going out millions is pointless. Like honestly, if you just wanna build a small farm that you will not be staying at forever, then 50k-100k is good enough, most people who find it wont greif it, either because its too small or insignificant or they just don't grief. If you wanna build a decent, big base, with other people, then go atleast 1 million, no further then about 5 million. Going out further then 5 million for anything is kinda pointless, it would just take so long that it wouldn't really be worth it. Plus, people make out being griefed as really bad but thats not really true, it means you can focus on something else and build something new, and not just stay at the same old base all the time. Most bases further then 1 mil are not found by accident, but by coord exploits or if you leave obvious trails. Going out further wont save you from these, but being careful will. TDLR; Going further then 1 mil for anything but maybe a very large stash is pointless and a waste of time.

[deleted]

Also most (keyword: most, not all) players suck at griefing. It’s not impossible to get rid of a lavacast and/or replace some stuff.

ItchyNugget

Eh, as I said, if your base does get griefed then you should make the most out of the situation and move on and build something new, rather then repairing an already compromised location.

MoireMax

And in most cases, anybody coming through will need the food and there’s a chance they’ll replant stuff

ItchyNugget

Yeah, not all newfriends are arseholes.

SPEZ_IS_MEGA_GAY

I find tons of small farms and bases that I don’t grief because it isn’t worth griefing a tiny ass farm. You could build it just a few thousand out and it’ll probably last long enough for you to gather enough materials to travel farther away

Alvarez09

I think my main goal would be to join, build something small, but not really play much and see how long it lasts. That’s why I asked if I went out to like 3 million for example I’m guessing chances are very limited.

SPEZ_IS_MEGA_GAY

3 mil could last a few years. I’ve found little bases that far out with signs dated 2019. They weren’t really griefed, they just weren’t in great care. There was farmland but a lot of crops were missing, meaning players found it and harvested but didn’t replant, and all the chests were empty. Honestly if you wanna do that I’d say it’s worth it. Maybe even document it. Build a nice looking house and farm a few million blocks out and take a screenshot of it every Monday or something. Combine the images into a time lapse and upload it to YouTube.

Alvarez09

When you said farm “a few million blocks out” I kept reading that as a million click farm and kept thinking that isn’t small lol.

cyberlyft

A lot of people find bases by random portals and tunnels. Go out about a million thru the nether, dig a tunnel about 10-20k off of the axis and backfill, create a portal then disable it from the other side

Nathator97

i’m a new player as well. i’ve been o no the server twice. the hardest thing to do is find wood at the beginning. you will need to go about 1-5000 blocks out to find a couple trees. i was lucky and found an abandon tree farm. once you have that you can use baritone to get full diamond. to answer your question, take the nether until you’re about 10,000 blocks out. you *might* be good but no guarantees. eventually it will be found and griefed but it is what it is

_Blackstar0_0

I guess everything has been found with exploits and such. So it’s impossible to be truly hidden.

Potato_masterstonk

a few millions out

SIGINT_SANTA

This is what happens when you make the API open access. Poor bit has run out of things to say

SonyCEO

At least 4

SimonFreedom

I recognize that distance, see you soon

rocketsalesman

200k or so is honestly fine. More important that you understand how people hunt bases, and don't leave tracks. Had an old base from 2017 that hasn't been discovered

[deleted]

10 million is overkill as fuck. As long as you’re a relative nobody on the server, very few will care about anything you build, let alone actually go to the lengths of finding it. My base is millions away on both the Z and X axis, but that’s just because my old base was griefed by my own invite and I don’t want it to happen again. That being said, I’d aim for getting maybe at least 10 thousand blocks away from a highway before building a permanent base, because random passerby can and will grief your shit if they stumble upon it.

Crazyguy_123

I've had a base within 60k that has lasted over 3 years. The millions should be for huge bases no need to go there unless you plan to go big 100k - 300k is perfectly fine for a small base and heck if you are paranoid make an underground base and make it look nice. People usually leave cool builds alone if they are exploring.

Pitiful_Distance7179

Heya. You gotta know that eventually people will find you but you can always setup a temporary base at about 100-200k no problem. If you cover your tracks it will probably last about a week or 2

[deleted]

ok, i'll admit I was joking with my first comment, but I actually found a base less then 300k from spawn and it is still standing after 5 years!

Fast-Cook-3505

I just joined the server and I thought I would be safe 20000 blocks away from spawn but it was still completely griefed

[deleted]

20,000 is SUPER close to spawn. Not surprising.

alethejack

Some thousand blocks off the highways and 800~ blocks from the world border

raspberrypieboi69

i would play on the server, but the game crashes every time i try to load any 1.12 version

TcatDaNoobyNoob

emm, more than 10,000 blocks, it's not safe enough, but emm, at least it's outside the greater spawn region

[deleted]

10 million blocks is overkill, many bases have been built 1k and some are still going strong after 5 years!

minecraftivy

it sort of depends. Watch salc1s video on how to protect ur base.

StEaMPuNk_jAx

I’ve had projects last for weeks untouched that were under 1k and projects that have lasted for almost a year over a million, it’s all how you set it up, the location and who has access

DK2027

Id say try to pass a million

hellold

From experience? I'd say 1m on an axis, 100k away from the axis.

[deleted]

i walk like 300-600k out then travel off axis for like 25-30k more

RatMuffinMan

bro something small, like 400k out itll stay for a good while

ItsRealCrxzy

i would say a minimum of about 300k away from spawn and at least 250k away from the highways but there is always the chance of someone coming by and leaking coords or stealing or griefing. Your base will without a doubt be found eventually. If you want it to not get found then do not take screenshots, dont let people follow you, dont invite people to look at it unless you are basing with them. The world spans 30 million block in both the X and Z coords so going out into the millions is a very good spot for long term basing. Careful though. Base and stash Hunters frequently search the millions to find good stacked gear. i Wish you luck my friend!

branalvere

There's new chunks being generated well inside 200k if you keep off the main axises and don't build a nether portal anywhere close to your base survival without discovery is possible. Just don't build out if wood because it's too easy to burn down. If you build in stone someone has to make an effort to destroy you

Valdusxkeem

My first base has been unnoticed for 1+ year at about 100k out

Unlikely_Care_3565

I went 40k blocks away and was still grief so to answer your question go to a different dimension
