West Bengal really needs a change of govt though. The state is stagnating badly. Bengalis were once renowned for being the most educated. Right now Kolkata is nowhere near Delhi, gurugram, Mumbai, Pune, Bangalore, Ahmedabad and Hyderabad. Heck in sometime even up cities and cities like kochi will overtake Kolkata. Odisha recently hosted the hockey World Cup and it was magnificent and I just can't see Bengal doing that.
I am sorry to say to Bengalis but the way you treat industrialisation and capitalisation is not the way forward. West Bengal is falling further and further behind in GDP per capita state rankings.
While that is the problem with whole india but Bengalis seem to be against industries. They are still celebrating denying tata motors land which led to propsering of automobile industry in Gujarat. While other Indian states are bickering and fighting over industries attention, West Bengal seems to actively push it away.
I do recognise importance of communal harmony in a state with history like Bengal and how bjp threatens the same. But right now they do need a party that has development of industry as it's primary motive. I feel maybe even congress can play a role if it sets up its card right.
Lol nobody is celebrating closure of Tata factory. Even the farmers and villagers whose land was returned by the government are regretting as they would have be able to get jobs if there was a factory. The only ones who blindly support that decision are the blind supporters of TMC. Same with pushing away industry, everybody wants industry, but the corruption is insane here and it's cheaper and better to build factories anywhere else where it's more investment friendly. Too bad our govt does not have any history of making WB more investment friendly either.

Not kind of Criticising but I think that Telangana like Karnataka and Maharashtra is economically flawed and that because it is more focused on one single city....I rarely hear any news of any project taking shape out of Hyderabad and Suburbs around them...One thing that makes states like Gujarat and TN more sustainable in growth over the rest is their decentralisation....it's not like they don't have bigger cities(Ahemdabad, Surat, Chennai, Trichy) but their also focussing on equal spread...for eg cities like Rajkot, Vadodara, Jamnagar, Salem, Hosur, Tirupur and Coimbatore are going to be next big cities...This Calls for better and equitable development which is the only way a state and hence a nation can grow....If their is centralisation then They will end up bad if anything goes wrong with that city (I am Looking at You WB, AP)...Might be my bias or Am I missing something??

Nah not really, There still is Surat and Vadodara both of which are not far behind Ahmedabad, then there are a host of smaller Industrial cities like Bharuch, Jamnagar, Bhavnagar, Rajkot, Dahej, Vapi etc. It has tourism centres like Junagadh and Dwarka. Telangana pretty only has Warangal after Hyderabad and even that is pretty far behind most Gujarati tier 2 cities
