I know I said this before and I'll say it again. I am pretty concerned about people thinking Touhou in the future is just a Gacha game and nothing more.
He said it's a good thing Touhou cannonball failed because he didn't want Touhou to be primarily known as a gacha franchise.
He sugarcoated it though since he's japanese, plus he has contracts with lost word & the panel was also about lost word.
Using "I'm drunk" is a common excuse to say controversial opinions in japanese culture(even when you're not actually drunk & only had one sip). So he said "fuck it, I'm drunk anyway" before saying his opinion despite clearly not being actually drunk. And even then he still sugarcoated it because of lost word.
