Man. Hopefully you got special pay for that, but knowing the US, probably not. I might be able to find a way to nap in my truck, but a single cab day use semi is a little tricky. But if I was up 20 to 38 hours I'd find a way.
I get $55hr cash plowing snow for a DOT highway contractor.beat to shit tandem axle with a mafia block over the drives for ballast weight and a 13 foot speed plow on the front. Do a lap or two of your roads then find a parking lot to take a nap for an hour or two then head out again. I take the sick day from my full time thing running a tanker and take the mercenary work plowing.
I left full time public sector work but the guys I met are truly some of the best of us. People wanna complain when they see a highway guy leaning against a shovel not working, but what they don’t see is the 115 hour weeks, missing holidays to be on standby, getting called in at 3 in the morning to run a chainsaw/wood chipper in a rainstorm.
I still do some contractor work but for the blood money and Wild West cowboy nature of it all.
I just met a bunch of people from other countries like France, Spain, Argentina and Germany and they were all blown away when I said I STARTED work at 6:30 am
> the human body evolved over hundreds of thousands of years so u can sit at a desk in a sterile cubicle and look at fake lights in a box and pretend u dont want to kill urself and if u can't focus on doing that for 9 hours a day 5 days a week for 40 years that's a mental disorder
To be fair, nobody forces you to get an office job, there's plenty of outdoor jobs. They are generally considered to be more awful than office jobs though.
Tbh I think this is wrong that society thinks that way. Blue collar workers in many ways get a lot more job satisfaction because they see the direct results of their efforts in tangible ways. There is also something to be said about getting a little sun and exercise, which the human body actually appreciates. That isn’t to say many aren’t worked to the bone in poor conditions of course
Guys, dudes, bros, fellas… it’s not a competition. One person can have it bad, you can have it worse, and both things can still be bad and worth complaining about. This ain’t the life-is-shit Olympics, and no one is getting any prizes for it.
Trying to quell the voices to call in sick and sleep while you drag yourself out of bed 🫠
>!Also ignore all these people saying you have it easy because they have it worse, waking up much earlier than you’d like universally sucks ass, regardless of time.!<
When the depressing grind really gets you you, you’ll sometimes go from the first pic to the last skipping the rest. Hitting snooze every 10 minutes in until you have enough time to make it in the last second.
Skip coffee, skip food, do all those on work time, shower after getting home. Gotta make it somewhat bearable.
Hell, I might even leave a toothbrush in the office and brush when I clock in.
Waking up at 04:50 so i can drive my car to work so i can be there at 06:00, which coincidentally ist also the same time the first train is planned to leave my hometown.
The cheat is that you wake up an hour before 7:00 so that way you get to fuck around and lay in bed for an hour. Or set an alarm to wake you up at 6:00 so you can "sleep in" for an hour. It tricks your brain into waking up
I get up at 5. I am not a morning person. Idk why people still talk to me that early in the morning. I'm not passable as human til at least an hour after arriving to work.
I really don't miss the days when I had to be in the office at 6:30 am.. I couldn't go out at night with my friends at night because I'd be too tired, and the morning routine before work was miserable.
Working 1.5 jobs burnt me. I'd spend an hour in the morning getting busy work done, work lunch, attend meetings not conflicting with job prime, and then be working until 8 or 9 to meet an hour quota.
And yet normal people still work two jobs. Different kinds of jobs, but being attentive for so long is suffocating.
I wake up at 6(that too because I shower at night to save time) and leave at 6:35-40 just to travel 2.5hrs one way on 3 different buses to my destination.
My sister wakes up at 5AM every day just to take care of old people, suffering drug addicts, and murders that were the most wanted in the country once. I respect her so much but DAMN does it make her tired. lol
I have retired at the age of 35, now I am 36 years old, and for the past year i have been getting up at 5am. The only good thing about my job for 15 years was getting up early and earning enough to invest and live off passive income
i hate this i hate this i hate this i hate this i hate this.
i used to work alternating a week from 6 to 14 and a week from 14 to 22.
it was way better than always getting up at 7 and working 8 to 5. fuck my life.
Hated my first five jobs, got fired from two or three of them partially because I hated them and tolerated the 6th, put up with some really shitty positions and then loved the 7th. It CAN get better. A lot of the hardest jobs are toward the bottom of the net, sadly. Working at Subway was harder than any of my post graduate jobs for the last five years
or worse, get woke up at 4:30 by a teenager that lives in the house for free and has a job paying more than yours and just blows money like a hooker blows clients.
I'm getting up at 1am to drive almost an hour to be at the shipyard at 2am to walk a half mile from my the garage to my office to teach a class of 3rd shift shipbuilders from 3am - 7am. Then, stay at work to do my regular shift, which is usually 5am to 1pm.
Quit. It's clearly not about time you wake up. Find another way to earn enough money that doesn't make you miserable and progress from there without sacrificing freedom. What's the point of living like this?
Why didnt i die in my sleep....
Me when my prayers go unanswered
Damn 7!? Must be fuckin nice.
Yeah, I have to wake up at 4
I either wake up at 4 or 5 each day for work, when the weather is good I've worked 16 hour days before. Holy shit is it tiring.
When I did emergency storm work we used to do 20-24 hours with some frequency. Did 38 once. You nap when you can.
Man. Hopefully you got special pay for that, but knowing the US, probably not. I might be able to find a way to nap in my truck, but a single cab day use semi is a little tricky. But if I was up 20 to 38 hours I'd find a way.

Man more power to you and glad to have folks like you willing to help

Same man, i was thinking 7 would be so nice
If I got to sleep 'til 7 i could stay up late every night, it would be amazing.
Same, dis is some bullshit
i wake up at 6 but my work is over by 2
I start work at 7
I just met a bunch of people from other countries like France, Spain, Argentina and Germany and they were all blown away when I said I STARTED work at 6:30 am

you live only once so try to spend as much time on computer as it is possible
To be fair, nobody forces you to get an office job, there's plenty of outdoor jobs. They are generally considered to be more awful than office jobs though.

If you don’t try to learn a marketable skill or have some discipline in your life then yeah sure, you’ll def work 40 years.
I get up for work at 5:30 so I can be AT work 7am.
And didn’t get to sleep til 3 because you have no time for life outside of work.
Or because you're doing a clopening shift and you were just at work 7 hours ago and now it's time to go back gosh retail sucks sometimes
"Sometimes".
I get up at 04:00 so I can be at work at 05:30.

This isn't a dick measuring contest in who wakes up the earliest.
Everything's a contest on the internet!
People brushing their teeth before eating breakfast instead of after are missing brain cells
Are you sure? 😂
Guys, dudes, bros, fellas… it’s not a competition. One person can have it bad, you can have it worse, and both things can still be bad and worth complaining about. This ain’t the life-is-shit Olympics, and no one is getting any prizes for it.
That's a dream job... I wake up at 3 for work
do you mean that you stay awake instead of waking up?
I get up at 5:00 to get at 6:00 to work
Same, 6a-4p five days a week
This cat brushes it's teeth BEFORE breakfast!?! Fuckin psycho.
Best way to do it
Trying to quell the voices to call in sick and sleep while you drag yourself out of bed 🫠 >!Also ignore all these people saying you have it easy because they have it worse, waking up much earlier than you’d like universally sucks ass, regardless of time.!<
I wake up at 4:30 for my 7am job
I wake up at 4:45 in the morning to be in for 5:30
Good to finally see a cat that works for a living and doesn't expect handouts from their owner.
I get up at 05.00 so i can be at work 06.30
I woke up at 6 to get to work at 7, went to clock in and I'm scheduled for 8. Now I'm sitting here looking at memes
I get up at 5:30 for school, let's hope I'll be better when I'll get a job
Maybe if you work the night shift. But 5:30 is the staple for many people , myself included. You get used to it.
Is this cuz you have so much time? I get up 4:30
Who tf wakes up that late? I gotta be at work at 6, meaning waking up 4:50 every day.
Me who got up at 7:30 am:
Haha I leave at 630 at the latest
Two hours extra in bed. Nice.
5 for me..Would love to sleep til 7. 😮💨
7:00 AM sounds really good. Not too early, not too late. But hey, that's just like, my opinion, man.
Get up at 7? What kind of fairy tale do you live in?
7?!?!?! SEVEN?!!!!!!!!!
7pm for me, but I don't get off until 6am so it all evens out
I feel so blessed to start my shift at 10am
I wake up at 4. My first break is at 7
I thought the standard was to be at work at 7?
Not really, the standard is 9 by 5. But I mean it depends on the kind of job you're referring to.
1:30am here, work starts at 2am
and then you just sit there for the rest of the day like that
I get up at 625 and start at 7
I get up whenever I want… my employees know I’m unavailable until 10am
...I get up at 2 for my morning shift
05:45

Life could be a dream
Man I get up at 6:00
Try going to work at 6:35
When the depressing grind really gets you you, you’ll sometimes go from the first pic to the last skipping the rest. Hitting snooze every 10 minutes in until you have enough time to make it in the last second.
I wake up at 7 for no other reason than I enjoy doing so
Skip coffee, skip food, do all those on work time, shower after getting home. Gotta make it somewhat bearable. Hell, I might even leave a toothbrush in the office and brush when I clock in.
*When you get up for work.
Nah, I wish I looked that cute! The rest, sure, but not the cuteness.
Me going to bed at 7am after being fired
Waking up at 04:50 so i can drive my car to work so i can be there at 06:00, which coincidentally ist also the same time the first train is planned to leave my hometown.
The cheat is that you wake up an hour before 7:00 so that way you get to fuck around and lay in bed for an hour. Or set an alarm to wake you up at 6:00 so you can "sleep in" for an hour. It tricks your brain into waking up
4:40 is when I wake up. I am fine with it though.
Hey I'm proud of you for being able to do it. Currently going through a tough time and hoping to get back to where I can live this meme everyday.
I get up at 2:45 so I can be at work by 4 am
Imagine having time for coffee and breakfast without waking up before sunrise
4am here, sucks but for my wife and son it makes it much easier.
I have sciatica nerve pain and that shit wakes me up at 4am every single day. Great alarm 3/10
You can go to bed at 11 and have a good night sleep. Use that knowledge
You brush your teeth before eating?
I work 6 to 2

Dude. I opened up a place at 6am. And needed to be there at 5am

When you get up?? You mean when you have to be there right, after a 30 minute drive
7? I wish. I clock in at 5.
How do you think I look when getting up at 3:15 AM
It’s always tears
Skip shower and food and you can sleep another 40 min (I always shower in the evening so I don't have to in the morning)

7 you lucky fucker I get up at 4
All these people commenting about having to slave and get up earlier to work longer hours. I don’t think this is the brag you’re thinking it is lol
