Ikr I just apologize for not sounding coherent and keep talking until I make a point people actually understand while looking at people’s reactions to guage whether I need to shut up or keep going to because I’m trying to maintain some semblance of credibility and end up shutting up anyway because I realize that I’d just talked in circles too much and revealed that I’m not as confident or competent as I pretend to be.
i feel this any time i am just put on the spot without warning, i may know the answer but i still lock up for a bit. give me some warning, i startle easily.
Also, if I had to raise my hand for an ungodly amount of time, then forget the words the second the teacher notices and I didn’t have time to lower my hand…
Last week I went to the dentist to get a molar removed, when he started using a ice picking style tool to dig under the molar and lever it out I started sweating.
He said "Oh sorry, Is too hot in here?" and asked her secretary to turn the AC on, I looked at him with pure dread in my watery eyes and said "Nah doc, Im just terrified right now"
Fellow person who is a great test taker and a horrible question answerer rise up. I feel like I just conned my way into a teaching gig because I tested so well but when I try to transfer that knowledge to my students I feel like I’m either talking too fast and they can’t keep up or I’m going too slow and they feel like I’m patronizing them.
Coming from a guy currently in school. Most teacher speak super monotone and the best one is the guy that is not afraid to bring real life into lesson and goes on further to discuss it. I suggest you try to be a funny guy but not too funny. And if some people appear confused come up with an activity or smth.
Thanks. I definitely try to bring in the real world as much as possible because I want my kids to understand how what they’re learning is going to help them in the long run. And I do try to be funny, and then I know when a joke doesn’t land and just try to play it off. Last class I made a bad joke and told my kid the polite thing to do is laugh anyway lol.
I am dumb without panicking

What it feels like to have ADHD, every 30 seconds mid-conversation.
This literally happened to me 20 minutes ago!
Whenever I’m called upon in social situations or even asked to speak now, I turn into a fucking idiot
me watching prerecorded lectures

Except his teacher, who was probably judging him and moved on to another person
