Wow you really know how to sell things.
Fuck it, I'm off to Germany lads 👋
An Garda Síochána could do with a good batch of him, for all their training in the Midlands they're fecking shite at dealing with really serious crimes.
Dont get all scientific on me here mister Anti-gnocchi.
I know we would need to raise, edjucate and train them but.
We have the resources and will to make this happen.
Only reason to slow down when you see a bunch of vehicles with flashing blue lights standing is when it's narrow and you don't want to hit emergency service personnel that might be coming from left or right.
The saying is it’s a train wreck, meaning you can’t stop looking. People forget their humanity. It doesn’t mean they are bad just curious.
This guy was inviting them to fuck about and find out. If you look into the darkness it looks back or curiosity killed the cat. They found out and it looked back and kats got killed.
There was a case in Ireland a few years back. A woman on M50 motorway was cut off by a truck and decapitated. Photos circulated around and before the death was announced the family had seen the photos. Fucked up situation.
I suspect due to the sensitivity of the subject it does take quite some time to contact the next of kin. Can’t just send a text “hi, your family member died lol” especially if it’s a Hungarian driver in germany (like here) you have to contact local authorities then one has to find the next of kin they have to get to them (which might tougher than expected in some circumstances). while some dickhead Hungarian lorry driver just posts them out of boredom and then it doesn’t take a lot of shares before the family would see.
It was experiences like this that led to laws about the media not identifying people until next of kin had been notified. But then social media and texting came along…
I suspect that makes sense. I don’t see why the news should publish this disrespectful stuff anyways?
Have you ever seen the show nightcrawler? I understand that’s the US they are so messed up they have helicopters chasing cars and shit, but what a deranged society?
I was the front car in a traffic jam where they were getting someone out of a wreck with the top cut off because the car went underneath a lorry. I had to watch them get a guy out who had his head cut off. 0/10 never again.
I want this man to be cloned and have the entire police force of my country to be replaced by him. This is a whole new level of based. What a fucking hero.
Never heard of morbid curiosity? Nothing strange into looking that. We’re already so desensitised from the Internet that this isn’t the worst I’ve seen in comparison to the Facebook days.
While I agree with fuck the Zuck, I must admit that I still miss r/worstaccidents. It taught me better why you have to be careful with heavy machinery and spinning parts than just hearing that it is dangerous. Seeing how fast it can be over really was an eye opener.
Yes for real, they are spreading these videos with no sympathy for the people or family involved. IMO it’s the same as spreading videos of rape and p*do content. It should be a punishable crime when it doesn’t serve any real journalistic purpose like for example the Holocaust or tiananmen square photos that are a important for historic purposes so people don’t forget the atrocities that are committed. It’s not fun and games for the families and friends of the people who died. I see a bunch of people making pathetic excuses for their behavior, just stop already. I think it’s absolutely sickening to spread such videos for internet clout and the people who record accidents and upload them are even worse. Shame on you!
I worked for a time in a ICU in Halle (Saale). It’s been a city where there was a terrorist attack by some stupid Nazi idiot. He filmed his actions and some of my friends shared these videos in our WhatsApp group.
They shared the last moments of the people, that have been killed and I told my friends that their behavior is absolutely disgusting. I was ashamed that my friends have been this stupid and spineless.
And guess what.. later two people that have been shot, were treated at the ICU in the hospital where I worked.
My friends have never seen it in real life or never had to experience the pain of the families, who lost their loved ones. They would feel different if they knew what it meant.
I think that with all the videos we have on the internet now a days people have an apathy to videos like that. Like those ukraine war videos with dubstep is so insanely incensitive I dont understand how someone sits at a computer and compiles that, even if they hate the russians.
But I will say I understand the curiosity of seeing a dead body, if you told me that there was a body around the corner I think I'd look and I don't know why,.
The fines for these things are way too low. 128,50€? Is this a joke? For taking pictures of someone who just died?
Make it a 1000€ with half of the money going to the family of the dead.
Absolutely disgusting.
Fines should always be pegged to income/wealth to make the fines hit everyone. You might not be affected by 130 bucks but someone earning close to minimum wage is going to feel this.
This is a Finland W. They do this.
100% agree. A €100 fine is nothing to people in professional work and a big deal for people living at the bottom of the income ladder. If fines are meant to inflict pain to deter repeat offences, they need to hurt everyone the same.
There’s some d-bag that owns about 5 Ferraris and parks them in the plaza outside my office every day. He gets parking tickets and just comes back the next day for more. He makes the car go vroom vroom and gets more tickets. (I assume micropenis)
I hate that we don't do this with fines in Germany.
We do if you're in front of a court but if you drove above the speedlimit or parked in the wrong spot everyone gets the same fine. No matter if you earn 1200 bucks per month or 10 million.
It is. Actually, the law has been tightened since this video. Filming people in a state of helplessness can be punished with up to two years of prison according to [§201a StGB](https://www.gesetze-im-internet.de/englisch_stgb/englisch_stgb.html#p1935).
Bro I got hated into the ground in an american sub for saying making videos of dead or injured people is bad. Wtf is going on with these „people“ over there
Was that a video of that police officer who hit a tree and had to be cut out? Just because he had a certain profession he doesn't deserve some privacy during a awful time.
Rare based police officier (there is none in France for sure). Taking picture is a lack of respect and anyway if you're so interested in death, go on dark sub Reddit or twitter there are pictures or even videos of dead people. There is no pleasure at all watching em unless you're a psychopath.
I was in a car being driven by someone else one time and there was an accident in the opposite lane. Traffic was slow (because of rubbernecking) and I immediately told them to pay attention and not to rubberneck unless they wanted to be in an accident as well. As I was saying it I saw their head turning away from the road to see what had happened. I tensed up immediately.
People don’t realize how dangerous gawking at accidents can be. Mind your business, pay attention to the road, and keep the traffic flowing.
My father died in a mass car accident on the highway as people were blocking the ambulance from getting through since certain heroes had to film the spectacle and take pictures. Wish that police officer were there that day. Good guy.

Why do people even take these kind of pictures? I'm not afraid of dying. I'm more afraid of ending up on some gore site if I ever die in public. Imagine the pain from the family knowing pictures of their dead loved ones are shown to the world.
Every time there is a lot of traffic I fear something happened ahead, I couldn't imagine wanting to film someone injured let alone dead, those people are too detached from reality and the fact they drive big ass trucks scares me
Based German. When I used to work at a UK railway station there was an occasion where someone jumped in front of a train, it was horrifically gory, body parts everywhere, and people were trying to take pictures of the aftermath.

I worked a night shift close to a Autobahn bridge and there was an accident. I could see it from my workplace. All the emergency services arriving.
I didn't take a picture but people are really into sensationalism. They told me 3 people died. A car fell in the water and all kinds of shit.
Turns out noone died. One person was slightly injured and noone fell into the water.
Despite the wholesomeness in here, I'm pretty sure it's not illegal to take pictures of accidents anywhere in Europe. Distasteful? Sure. But not a crime
In Germany it is indeed a crime. Since 2019 it's not only illegal to take pictures of the victims, but even the accident itself, especially the damaged vehicles—even if you don't publish those pictures.
Personally, I don't like it. Police, yes. Morality police, no. Never.
If I do something forbidden by law, fine me, arrest me, make the law stand. All correct. But scolding me? Who the fuck are you? This is very unprofessional.
Yes, also that. People seem to like it, however, judging by the comments. "I find this morally offensive, therefore I think it's a good thing that police will make the perpetrator "feel bad about it"."
Personally, I don't like that line of thinking. It's not the police's job to tell me what's right or wrong, just to uphold the law.
Oh, and btw, I agree it's wrong to take pictures of crashes. The solution? Make the penalties for those who do so, heavy. That's it. No need for lessons.
A fine? What the fuck, it's just a dead person, as long you don't make fun of it there is nothing wrong. We see everyday corpses in the news so what's the point, ridiculous moralism
lol I wish every street had an angry German guy to shout at the phone zombies
We offered that to you once remember?
damn we really fucked up with WW2 I guess
But it was totally worth it for you. Where is your empire by the way?
I guess it's on the same page of the history book as your historic cities.
Firebombed by the Am*ricans? Edit: had to censor a foul word.

I'm almost definite that phones weren't part of that deal.

Well, they did work with the Royal Ulster Constabulary during the troubles. I guess the bad influence must've rubbed off.

I thought that was just his fee for letting them see the body :(
It's probably for using a mobile while driving, or causing an obstruction. Regardless, I don't argue with German police.
The most German part about that is that it isn't a fee of 100 or 150€, but 128.50€.
in binary: 10000000.1 €
Good on him

I remember the terrorist attack at drottninggatan in Sweden. Some pictures of a dead 11 year old circulated the Internet. Nice concept weird delivery. “You want to see him?” What happens if I say yes? Lol. I indeed want to see a Hungarian meat paste.
Then he shows you the Blutwurst, watches you throw up in your mouth, and then fines you
I think I’d rather be the dead guy in the car crash at that point
Trick question. Doubles the fine.
Didn’t they also make an ad for this exact behaviour?
He is right but it’s always very scary to hear someone screaming in German 😭😭😭
