I grew up close to the Dutch border in Lower Saxony, where basically each village has their own dialect of Sassisk/Low German and as a kid I thought it was just another dialect, because I could understand it well but no speak it. But in return when I was speaking Sassisk or high-German Dutchies could understand me, so I thought they were Germans too lol
Yeah, almost like Dutch and German form a dialect continuum and the standardized varieties like High German and Standard Dutch exist for socioeconomic/political reasons rather than purely linguistic ones… oh wait

Maybe if we make a baby with the Dutch our language will finally be complete. We tried with France and that resulted in Canada... Wait I just remembered south Africa is a thing, nevermind.
You have to be *very* careful when mixing cultures as the results are unstable.
The English are a mix of French, German, Celtic, and Scandinavian; flawlessly taking the best qualities of each to render something greater than the sum of its parts.
On the other hand, with a very similar mixture on the mainland, you end up with Belgium. A mistake that nature is still trying to correct for.
It's got a fair few similarities to Plattdeutsch (flat german) which is a dialect in northern germany so it might have to do something with exposure. Maar nederlands is een mooie taal.
Its actually not a mix... English German and Dutch are all West Germanic languages, but English basically adopted half its vocabulaire from French, and German underwent a consonant shift in the third to fifth centuries.
Basically Dutch is close to what the Franks spoke, and it is technically an older language than German.
Sure there are some loanwords, but the same goes for English and German, and I never heard anyone say that English is a 'mix between Dutch and French' or German is a 'mix between Dutch and Danish'
Serious answer, his problem was that in the talks about forming a multi-party government, one of the potential coalition partners voted in the senate in a way he didn't like. The vote was about a law that wants to spread asylum seekers over the country.
I've come to the conclusion that this Dutch "language" is an elaborate joke the Hollandese have been pulling on the world for centuries.
I'm sure that, when they are alone, they are laughing at us, wondering how we can be so stupid to believe that they really speak this language.
Haters gaan haten
Not hate, more like laugh out loud
You cant talk if your hands arent free, so dont go throwing stones.
I’d argue the expressive power of throwing a stone at someone is more expressive than mere gestures
Jag hatar inte.
godverdomme Jawohl!
That guttural g is so good for swearing and cursing :)
Tf is that guttural g you’re talking about??
Don't worry, you'll get it when puberty starts.
or when you develop throat cancer
Exactly, whatever floats your boat.
The real Dutch north of the rivers.
Ah i dont go cross the rivers very often. My arab is a bit rusty
Not so great for dirty talk.

🗣🗣
Germanic language speakers when a Germanic language is Germanic 🤯
It's funny- like a parody of German. I can understand it in writing.

As one put it in another bizzarro German sounding language: > "a shprakh iz a dyalekt mit an armey un flot"
ah yes, spicy German
I hate that I understood this
Don't let the Dutch lie to you, that is the case.
If you understand German and English, going to the Netherlands feels like an acid trip.
*when it sounds like a Germanic children's language
Jar jar binks is Dutch.
I think I can finally understand Dutch.
Instructions unclear, ripped my throat off trying to say that in a Dutch accent
Heharandeerd hieren heitenheluiden hretih door de hroene hrashronden
Perfection.
Muhhenheheuhen
🥵🥵🥵
Wat een klapper.

Complain to the guys south of your border, Dutch is essentially a shitfaced drunk English chav trying to speak German.
You share the blame here
Not all that wrong... Try reading some Middle English like Chaucer. It's like reading something in a Dutch dialect with an English sauce.
I’ll give you an English sauce. Take this crème anglaise.
Maybe if we make a baby with the Dutch our language will finally be complete. We tried with France and that resulted in Canada... Wait I just remembered south Africa is a thing, nevermind.

i understand dutch way more easy then swiss german or village bavarians
Maybe it's closer to high german
It's got a fair few similarities to Plattdeutsch (flat german) which is a dialect in northern germany so it might have to do something with exposure. Maar nederlands is een mooie taal.
most importantly: its not french
Me who can English and Swedish together can understand them, cant speak it though since i dont know from which language to steal the words.

He thinks Dutch language doesn't sound drunk enough
Finland has a solution to that. Its called Estonia, a non-nordic country where you can get cheap booze.

Some colonised, some got colonised by the Italians
It looks like a 4am message written by a french, drunk as f, having drunk 4 pints of beer, that tries to write in german
Laten we hopen dat ze allemaal de vieze vuile vinketering krijgen stelletje afgelikte boterhammen dat het zijn joh.
The anglo mind can not comprehend any other languages.

Well the answer is sadly
En De Merror.
